Default Re: WindClan Tunnels

The walk out to find the mouth of the tunnel system felt long and boring. WindClan had nothing but dead grass. Tall dead grass. And oh- A tree in the distance! And perhaps the occasional seagull, sure. Nettlespark idly watches the sky as he follows the warrior and apprentice, not really watching where he was setting his paws. The tom, of course, trips on a predominantly buried stone and swears decidedly, choosing what he felt was the most applicable word he could think of in his pained hell.
"Dung-" He'd spat out before realizing that he likely wasn't leg-deep in a hole in the ground. It was just a stone. Just a stone. The fur along his spine, which had bristled considerably in his slightly mounting fear of being buried by a rabbit hole, lies flat. He casts a glance towards the others.
Crowtooth was just finished giving his run-down on what was to come, and Nettlespark watches as the smaller tom makes haste into the tunnel they'd come upon. The apprentice did as well, and the former ShadowClanner stands still for a few heartbeats before moving to follow. His green eyes were dark with wariness of the tunnel, and as he reaches his paws into the softer, frigid soil, the tom flattens his ears back. Pushing his face into the tunnel, he shivers at the idea of being buried alive in an instant. This was day... What, of being a WindClanner? He felt queasy.
The tabby shuts his eyes next, and shuffles further. His whiskers scrape the sides of the tunnel, and as he wiggles even further in, soon his shoulders are grazing- No, bumping the walls as well. Nettlespark lets out an unintentional, quiet mew of alarm as he realizes he cannot comfortably get past this bit of earth. After a heartbeat of unreasonable panic, the warrior begins to scuffle backwards until he can gasp at the fresh, crisp outside air again. Shaking himself out, the tom stares disdainfully at the tunnel entrance. Crowtooth would be unhappy about this, and soon that ass of a deputy would be on his back about not doing what he obviously should know how to do, as a pureblooded hare like the rest of them were. If only Deadpool were here with him...
The thought of her warms him up and he shuts his eyes to gather his thoughts. Deadpool... Nettlespark smiles, nodding decisively to himself and moving into action again. He knew how he would turn this to his advantage!

Whatever was going on inside of the tunnels must have been slow to catch. Or perhaps WindClanners were magic! The rabbits didn't notice the assassins down in their burrows for some time, but it seemed that the two cats down there had passed a few other branches of this warren. Nettlespark wouldn't have imagined what they looked like, but perhaps they elected to take a more traveled route down before making their next turn. Whatever they did, left a slowly growing frenzy in their wake. Did they even realize?
In the little branching extensions of the rabbit's tunnels, slept a couple of smaller families. They were in no way the most important rabbits of the warren. But one by one, they woke to the sour scent of cats in their burrows and the panic set in like a rapid wildfire. The rabbits scurried into motion, smelling the two WindClanners further down and choosing to flee from the way they'd entered- Towards Nettlespark!
The tom didn't really expect it, although he had had the slight idea that sure, catching a fleeing rabbit would be his best shot! But for it to actually happen? The warrior starts as he spots the first rabbit flying from the mouth of the tunnel blindly, and he almost misses his opportunity to grab it. But he smacks a large paw down on its spine, curling his claws in as an anchor to yank it close and tilt his head, biting into the rodent's thickly furred neck. It squeals- A messy kill, but it dies quickly enough. Another two fleeing rabbits manage to escape in this time, but a fourth (and final) falls unluckily to the tabby as well. This kill is neater, the rabbit hardly seeing his jaws coming to close around its neck in a merciful fashion.
Satisfaction fills his belly at the two limp bodies by his paws now. Nettlespark watches as the lucky two escape, unconcerned. A small smile returns to his maw as well, and he sits back to wait rather proudly, tail curling over his paws.
