It was clear to him what the last part of her name was meant to symbolize, but of course he had no objections to it. Deerstride was (or was it now 'had been'?) her mate, after all. "Uh, yeah, absolutely. Come on, camp's this way." He started off again.

Maybe see Rainywhisker if you think you need to, and I'll be around here if you need me, okay?" Somewhere really close by, in case she wandered off again.
