As SwiftStrike and Breezefeather left camp and into the wildernes, Swiftstrike couldn't help but feel some excitement. It had been a short while since he last hunted and he was intent on stretching his muscles to the fullest. Breezefeather was also an incredibly competent warrior, so it was sure to be a successful hunting trip should nothing get in the way. As they padded through the moor Swiftstrike looked to breezefeather and spoke. "What's it like being deputy? Is the responsibility ever overwhelming?" he asked in earnest, his curiosity getting the better of him. Swiftstrike hoped to be clan leader one day, so these were the kinds of questions he had to know the answers to.

Oh no. The deputy questions. Breezefeather had suggested the topic of a hunt in order to avoid having to deal with the main thing others saw in him. That he was a deputy and that it had to be utterly amazing and awesome. Which in truth, it had some perks but he’d not accepted the rank due to the so called perks that came with it but because he felt like serving the clan this way was the right thing and Twilightstar was a leader he knew he could follow. “I don’t know why everyone thinks being deputy is ever overwhelming or special. I don’t feel any different and I for sure do not act different because of my rank. I simply...” how should he put it? He didn’t exactly know how to correctly put it but tried nonetheless, “I simply know more. I’ve got more things to be on top of and things that affect the clan affect me more as an in my personal standing. But... it is nothing special I would say. If you count freezing during gatherings and yelling at cats for special then maybe you’re some unique cat, but that’s not special to me. I enjoy being responsible for the clan though and serving as it’s deputy is a great honor and Twilightstar is an honorable leader to serve under.”
