As the interaction went on, he felt his initial panic and awkwardness slip away. It was as if he was falling into a comforting familiarity, talking with someone who he could trust. A friend, a companion. Someone other than Dayheart to talk to! Though he and Dayheart had a different kind of friendship than this one, they were both amazing.
He felt heat rise to his face at the compliment, and ducked his head once more. Quite the charmer, eh? He nearly giggled, but held it in. What had prompted the sudden almost-outburst laughter, he wasn’t sure. But he’d push that to the side for later. "I don’t know if I’d call myself a charmer. More like... a sleeper? Especially in the winter. I feel like... like...? What are those big fuzzy animals that sleep in those caves all winter?? I want to be one of those." He grinned, hoping to gain some sort of reaction out of Larky. But something had shifted, and he wasn’t quite sure what.
Hmm, must’ve been the night’s chill getting to his pal. He seemed nervous. Was he chilly? The naive cat tilted his head ever so slightly, unsure of what to do. If poor Larkstripe got any colder, he supposed he’d have no choice but to snuggle up to him and try to warm him up. For now, he would just continue conversation. "I sure wish that was the standard experience. Battles would be so much less... battle-y? But I almost forgot about what you said about beaches and sand...pipes? I forgot to ask — what is a sandpipe? I mean, it kinda sounds like it would be a snake. But... I don’t know," He kind of cut himself off, realizing he was rambling a bit. Though his curiosity about the "sandpipes" overtook him. Watching snakes on a beach didn’t sound very relaxing to him, though maybe the snakes were special, or somethin.
