"You didn't hear that howl?" he inquired, shock raising to his features as he glanced at Cinnamon. Were all house cats this dense? "I was going to go see what it was. Maybe it's another mouse and you can attempt to catch it again." His tone was playful as he danced ahead of Cinnamon, looking back over his shoulder and smirking at her. He hadn't had this much fun since the last group of loners him and Flute had come across. This was new and exciting, and now there was some mysterious sound? Chief had always know there was more out there than spending every night with his upwalkers, and this is what it was.

The brown-swirled she-cat made an displeased huff. Her one desire was that this cat would leave her alone. Could he possibly get any more irksome?
Cinnamon stared, dispassionate as Chief bounced happily before her.”And what happened to me leading the way?” she muttered, disgruntled with her current situation.
She then thought of a sly remark, a small grin on her face.
”So do rogues have friends? I have to admit, I was a little afraid to ask since any cat could assume you’re too tiresome to have any.” her green eyes glinted with delight, and Cinnamon’s ears twitched as she waited patiently for a response as she looked off into the dark trees, just to her left.
