She then thought of a sly remark, a small grin on her face.
”So do rogues have friends? I have to admit, I was a little afraid to ask since any cat could assume you’re too tiresome to have any.” her green eyes glinted with delight, and Cinnamon’s ears twitched as she waited patiently for a response as she looked off into the dark trees, just to her left.

The tom simply rolled his eyes, not phased at all by her toneless question. He didn't have many friends - just his kin - and that's the way he preferred it. Other cats were just there for his entertainment, nothing else. "I did have a friend once. His name was Jeffrey. He was such a good rabbit..." The tom trailed off as if he was lost in thought, momentarily having his eyes cloud up and paws halt where they were. After a few brief moments, Chief gave a shrug and a small laugh. "But he was a lot better friend once he was dead. I had a full belly for days!" He was sure the sarcasm wouldn't be lost on Cinnamon, but the tom didn't bother waiting to see her reaction as he started walking again.

"You think the mouse howl came from there?" Chief followed her gaze, peering into the dark abyss and trying to make out what may lay ahead. Not that seeing anything in particular would stop his hunt for the source. "Since you were so keen in leading earlier, Miss Mouse Catcher, why don't you take up the front and venture on in there?"
