Re: WindClan Clearing
Basilwhisker
__________________
It was another glorious day in the camp, and despite the tensions that rang loud and clear in the air above WindClan, Basilwhisker hummed to himself as he sat hunched over a pile of leaves. Completely consumed in his own world, he barely registered the cats getting sent off on patrols to find their missing leader, nor the outburst in camp that had drawn Breezefeather out to the territory to meet with Dawnstar. No, none of that stuff was as important to the pale tom as his project. He furrowed his brows together, leaning down to carefully examine the specimens before him. He had one... two...
Wait. There was one missing. Or had he only grabbed two? He could've sworn there was more. "Did I drop a burr coming back?" Quickly, the tom's eyes darted around camp as if by chance another WindClan warrior had picked it up and was heading back to him with it. "Anyone see a burr lying around?" he called, though his soft-spoken tone didn't carry the words too far. Nope, no sign of anyone heading his way. Bummer. Basilwhisker heaved a sigh and turned back, using a paw to slide the two burrs he had into place against a background of leaves. They were spread out in a fanned fashion, with the burrs acting as "eyes" in a rather green face.
"Bingo!"
He was quite satisfied with his work, a grin stretching across his maw as he stood. Admiration gleamed from his pale blue gaze as he stared down at his handiwork, relieved that it had all come together how he had pictured it in his mind. There, on the frosty terrain underpaw, was a cat's face made up of several leaves, with two burrs for eyes and a twig for a mouth. "From this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, you shall be known as Leafpaw. Train hard, my fellow companion," he mewed, dipping his head in respect to his newly created friend.
It wasn't enough for him to just create this work of art. No. He had to showcase his talents. He might not have been the best hunter or fighter, but this had taken talent. He had scoured WindClan territory for the necessary materials, which had taken the better half of two days. The only cat he could think of to show was... "Stagleech!" His voice rang loud, one of the few times he actually raised it. He was certain his friend would hear him. He had to be here. To see his art! The tom whipped his head back and forth. "Stagleech come here! I wanna show you something! It's my best work yet!"
