As he turned back towards the tunnels, he couldn't help but let a tiny grin appear on his face. He hated to admit that he was having fun, and would vehemently deny it if anyone asked, but he was actually enjoying himself. He slid easily into another crouch, trekking the same way he had when he'd come across the first den of shrews. Where there was one, there was... Another! Using the same technique, the tom launched forward, stomping on each of the shrews to kill them. One managed to get away, but he didn't let it bother him too much.

With his chin high, he padded back towards his pile and dropped them, casting a glance at each of the other piles beside his.
