After Nala fell asleep, Pit slid out of the barrel. He needed more den materials, and with the kits they were only going to need more space sooner rather than later. Spotting a pine bush with some nice branches, he knew they were bendy and made a nice humped shape, he trotted towards it. He liked nice looking dens, and pine branches were best for those. He leapt back in surprise as he realized there was a cat under the bush. And not just any cat, as she-cat with kits. What was she DOING out in leafbare like this? Surely she must realize how cold it was! He had seen frozen puddles, kits couldn't be out in this weather for long, even with a mother for warmth!
Padding up to her more cautiously, he didn't want to scare her or seem threatening, he mewed softly
Hello. What's your name? I'm Pit. and after a moment of waiting, he added
Don't you need somewhere warmer to be? Those kits look very, very young. Almost as small as Nalas in fact. His, not just hers he supposed. His kits. He wouldn't want them out in this cold, certainly not. @
