Haven't talked to you in awhile." His voice was doing its best to stay level and calm, though his embarrassment was practically palpable.
Though, her next sentence brought his eyes back to her with a bit of a glare, though not one particularly filled with malice, more the eyes of someone who'd been mildly inconvenienced. "You have a talent for pressing my buttons you know. Though, I might've deserved one or two of those times." He admitted, staring away from her bright and cheery expression. He'd always honed a fondness for her well kept fur and pretty eyes. Though those feelings were bottled to the bottom of his heart where he did his best to keep all his emotions from getting in the way of his training.

Appleshine chuckled and twitched her tail. She had always sort of..liked the grumpy tom. Even so far as to have had a crush on him when they were apprentices together. But that all stopped after...well. She didn't even want to remember. It had been a tragic day for Appleshine, and she had loathed what felt like moons getting her fur clean again.
Seeing him now, all those fluttery feelings were returning. Her paws tingled, and she could suppress the happy gleam in her icy blue eyes. "It's a talent we both have, it seems," She replied. "Where are you off to? Looking to go do secret battle training so you can beat someone?" Appleshine teased, "Or are you still upset from the last time I whooped your tail?" She narrowed her eyes, though her tone was devious and playful. "I know all your little weakspots, Bristle, don't forget~" The golden-brown she-cat winked and giggled.
