Cattail Pond

Silverpool led the apprentices to Cattail Pond, it was quite the stretch. As they arrived, she strtched luxuriously, curling her tail over her spine. "Sorry, for the long walk," she apologized over her shoulder and strode up to the pond. "How many times have each of you been swimming?" she asked, trying to figure out how advanced she should go.

Leopardpaw followed the warrior down to the pond, walking next to Fallenpaw. He was quite most of the way. As they arrived, Silverpool asked hown many times they'd swam before and he said, "Only once." Officially anyways.

"I did when I was a kit at the Riverclan Ugly Ducklings," Almondpaw slid into the pond.

Silverpool nodded at the others. "Sounds good." She waded into the shallows. "Everyone follow me. Only go up to where you can stand still." She fully expected to be deeper than the apprentices, as she had long legs. She turned around to watch them, the freshwater lapping gently against her shoulders.

Leopardpaw nodded and walked into the water, shivering a little as the cold water seeped into his skin. His thin fur offered little protection. He continued walking in under the water threatened to lift him off his paws and he stopped, chin hovering above the water.

Almondpaw went a bit deep, treading in water. "How's that?" He asked.

The molly got into the water eagerly and stopped beside Leopardpaw. She stood still except for her tail, which was waving in anticipation and excitement.

Silentpaw trekked the path that lead him to his usual place of the Cattail Pond to see if he wanted to fish or do something with alone time. He looked around quickly before thinking the coast was clear before peering at the edge of the bank to watch the fish swim past him. His green eyes was fixed onto watching the fish do things which was pretty fun for him that he didn't notice Beanpaw nearby.

Silverpool watched Almondpaw carefully as he decided to tread water instead. She was a little nervous, she didn't want to be responsible for anyone getting hurt. She nodded. "Alright everyone come a little deeper and start treading water, like you're running." She backed up and started doing it herself to demonstrate.

Leopardpaw nodded and followed the warrior, picking up his paws as he couldn't feel the pond's floor anymore. He made motions with his legs like he was running, which felt weird in the water. @Peril @Raboot

okay, to be fair, that did look like fun. dayheart wanted to join in. that hadn’t been part of the plan, although technically he hadn’t had a plan, and you couldn’t deviate from the plan if you hadn’t had a plan in the first place, so this could be part of the plan. it was part of the plan now. if it was part of the plan, he had an excuse to join in. yes, yes…. wonderful. first, though, he had another thing he wanted to do. dayheart stared at the water for a second before cannonballing into the pond; weeeEEEEEEeEeee. he let the water around him splash and ripple everywhere, struggling for a second to keep his head above the water before he remembered that swimming was a thing and it was easier to swim than try to stand above the water. splashing around, dayheart beamed, looking for eelee’s familiar figure. he stared as eel started blowing bubbles and quickly waddled out of the water to join, standing at the edge of the water before glancing over to see how eel did it. ok, so he just put his head into the water — splosh — wait, no, it was just supposed to be his face — he leaned his head out of the water, then made sure his face was the only part of his head touching the water’s surface. he tried to blow a bubble before accidentally swallowing some of the water the wrong way and coughing a bit, then started attempt number two. he just… did that.. and then that.. and then ———————

there was a bubble!!!!!!!!!

it was beautiful. wonderful. great. pretty. maybe he should get sootie bubbles instead.. but they didn’t exist for very long before poofing into thin air. awh, that wouldn’t work :( at least he could share this experience with eelee!!

“okay okay eel, i don’t think i’ve told you this before and i probably should’ve but i’m like pretty sure you’re a genius.” blowing bubbles was fun, and he definitely wouldn’t have thought of it if eelee hadn’t come up with it. eelee was smart. dayheart blew a bubble towards eelee, crouching so that the bubble would float up and then maybe hit eelee and explode. bubbles exploding wouldn’t hurt… right? no, because they exploded all the time when they poofed in the air, and that didn’t look painful.. right??? he hoped it wouldn’t hurt — if the bubble even hit eelee in the first place.
