Goldenstar was looking for his ‘kit.’ That was what he now called Bunnykit, in a sense. He and Tallwhisker were the parents, but not biologically. Of course, that was to be obvious, since they weren’t mates, but instead friends that had found the kit on a walk. She had been alone at the time, so both cats had taken her to Shadowclan to get fixed up. He hadn’t seen her in awhile, and was hoping that she was doing well, figuring this was a good time to begin to teach her how the clan worked. It was new-Leaf, and things were finally starting to become reasonable outside. Of course, it wasn’t the best thing yet, but it was good enough. Now looking for Bunnykit, a little more focused then he had been, he tried not to let his thoughts wander off, knowing that was something he had a tendency to do.
The Siamese crept over to one wall of the nursery and crouched down, trying to make herself as unnoticeable as possible. She turned her head back, checking that no one was watching her. It had been about a moon since she had been found by two ShadowClan toms and brought back to the camp to be revived and healed. Despite her frozen body, Daydream had been able to heal her and her state of health had improved over the last moon. She’d been looked after by a queen named Pinewish and visited often by Tallwhisker and Goldenstar. Although she’d probably seen Tallwhisker more than she’d seen Goldenstar seeing as he was the leader and busier than Tallwhisker.
Though the she-cat had been here for about a moon already, she’d hardly seen what the camp was like. Pinewish hadn’t let her go outside because it was too cold, but now that it was new-leaf she could roam freely. But Pinewish hadn’t said anything about it yet and although she was patient for most things, she was very impatient about this. She wanted to see the camp! She wanted to explore the dens and meet new cats! So she was planning to sneak out and sneak back in before the queen noticed anything. She quickly straightened up and ran out of the nursery.
Immediately the bright sunshine hit her eyes and she squinted and ducked her head. She took a moment to adjust to the light before she continued to run forward. The first thing she ran towards was the fresh kill pile. She sniffed curiously at a lifeless squirrel at the bottom of the pile. She wrinkled her nose at the piece of prey. She wasn’t sure what to think about it. It would be some time before she’d be willing to try fresh kill. She skipped away from the fresh kill pile when she saw an approaching patrol of warriors, each clutching some sort of animal in their jaws. She didn’t want to get crushed so she moved to a safe distance and scanned the camp. Her icy blue gaze eventually landed on a familiar brown-pelted tom. “Goldenstar!” she squeaked in a high pitched voice, and ran towards the tom. She happened to slip on a pile of melting snow at the last second and instead of coming to a graceful halt, she skidded and yelped before crashing into the leader’s leg.

Bella, having followed Goldenstar out of the den, looked around as well, her gaze scanning the camp for Bunnykit's little figure, she had heard about the kit, not too much, but enough to know that her mate considered her his 'kit'... Would 'theirs' even make sense in this situation? She didn't really know, she had seen the kit get in better shape from time to time whenever she got a glimpse of her, she had seen her recover and it had made her quite happy, she honestly didn't want to see anyone die, and a kit was even worse, she had always been the motherly kind of she-cat, and considering Tallwhisker and Goldenstar were both males, there were things they probably didn't know about she-cats, and that only a she-cat could know, after all, there were things only she-cats could teach. Maybe her mate knew a few things and would teach her clan-life, but Bella, she would teach her how to be a grand she-cat, one others would look up to, one that was able to face what was thrown at her, after all, she herself had been introduced to the clan a few moons prior, it had been weird at first, but now she was used to it. She had often thought of herself as inferior to others until she realised that she wasn't the only ex-kittypet in the clan, and that every cat was treated equally. Though, she quickly snapped out of her thoughts as she heard a kit squeak, ears perking inn excitement as she looked at the kit who ended up crashing into her mate's leg, she gave a light chuckle at first before licking the kit's head. "Hello dear, I sure hope you're okay, at this time of the year, we must still be aware of where we set our paws, ice hasn't had time to melt yet." She mewed in her ever so soft tone, tickling the kit's side with the tip of her tail, for a fully grown she-cat, she sure wasn't that tall, but it did fit considering Goldenstar wasn't all that tall either. "You look quite energetic today, which is really nice to see coming from you." She admitted, the thought of seeing the kit in the first state she had seen her made her heart shatter a little, and now there shewas, an energetic ball of fluff roaming around camp, and she couldn't be happier to see the kit be all lively!

That kind of hurt Golden, not because Bella wasn’t talking to him, no, not at all, he was just uncomfortable with himself, maybe uncomfortable wasn’t the right word. He was mad at himself. He had a mate, and mates spent time with each other! Part of him still said it was okay that they weren’t spending a lot of time with each other, but the rest just wanted to tear him down about it. Covering up the angry thoughts about himself with Bella, he began to wonder what she would think of the kit. Of course, he hadn’t really discussed ‘adopting’ Bunnykit with her, but it had all worked out in the end.
He had seen the patch of snow before Bunnykit had slid on it. However, he had assumed the kit would see it, and when Bunnykit came skidding into his leg, he panicked, and frantically moved to help her stand up. Glancing over at Bella, he was surprised she kept calm, but then again, she had always been a little more calm then him. Much more calm then him actually. He couldn’t help but look at Bunnykit, and be relieved the way she was healing. Before that, he didn’t know if she would even live, the frozen ball of fluff she had been when him and Tallwhisker had found her. However, she was healed now, and it was a wonderful feeling to know that she was safe. “What brings you out here today?” he asked Bunnykit, smiling at the kit, taking a step back so she wouldn’t slide across the ice, and had enough room to stand.

Bunnykit blinked and took a moment to process what had just happened. She looked back at the puddle of melted snow which she'd just slipped on before looking back at Goldenstar's leg. After a few seconds of confusion, the she-cat then let out a small laugh, amused at herself for being so careless. But then again, she couldn't really be calling herself careless. Afterall, how was she supposed to know what to expect and be careful of if she hadn't stepped out of the nursery before? Or rather, stepped out of the nursery and made it a few foxlengths away before being dragged back into the warmth. Either way, the she-cat wasn't embarrassed or anything, just amused. She wasn't mad at the puddle as some other kits might've been. She simply viewed the water as a joy of nature, not something that was bothersome and got in the way of things.
Bunnykit felt something lick the top of her head gently and she looked up curiously. Standing before her was a cat that she hadn't seen before, but she had the feeling that she knew who it was. She had heard about Bella, Goldenstar's mate, but she had not yet met her until now. She'd heard that she was a very king cat, which the kit was happy to hear. It reassurred her, making her eager to meet the she-cat.
"I'm okay!" She piped up cheerfully. She clambered to her paws as quickly as she could. She sneezed and let out a soft giggle as she felt the other she-cat's feathery tail tickling her. She was growing to like her. "I do feel a lot better now," she remarked, giving the two cats a bright smile as if to prove her point. She could hardly remember what it'd felt like when she had been freezing to death, there were only short snippets of memories still in her mind. Everything else she knew had come from the things that other cats had told her. She doubted she wanted to remember though, as she knew it hadn't been pleasant. She didn't need bad memories to occupy her mind. She didn't even know why she had been lying on the ground in the first place. But she wasn't too concerned with that question. She wanted to ignore the fact that she had nearly died. It would make her feel better.
She checked the grass below her before plopping down on the ground. Rather than wrapping her tail around her paws, she let it roam around and wave about in the air. "I wanted to see the camp so I snuck out of the nursery," she said in response to Goldenstar's question, puffing her chest out proudly at her achievement.

Bella didn't seem to acknowledge her mate's anger, after all, she sure didn't mind the fact that he was the leader, she knew he was busy, they sometimes spoke at moon-high, when he finally entered the den, or she fell asleep waiting for him, and feeling his presence was sometimes enough for her to sleep well, it also happened that, because of this, she woke up before him, therefore, she was able to greet him every morning. Yes, they were mates, but mates shouldn't always be together, that was what was special about their relation, some cats always hung together, like Violeteye and Alderstripe, a couple she had met a few gatherings ago though, the passion in their couple was still at a surprisingly high level, but the moments she had with Goldenstar were so... Nice, she loved whenever she was able to cuddle with him during the day, and since it rarely happened, it made it much more enjoyable, though, she saw him panick when he saw the kit slide and her eyes narrowed a little. "Don't be overprotective, Golden, an overprotected kit will not becaome a fearless warrior, and I'll help you make her into a fine she-cat, one that no tom will be able to step on." She purred.

As she heard Bunnykit's voice, telling her she was okay, the she-cat's smile grew once more and she couldn't help but giggle as well. "Good, so young yet already strong." She praised, she returned the smile more than willingly, this kit was an angel, and she would make sure the she-cat wouldn't have any bad influences. But her eyes widened as she said that she had snuck out of the nursery and she laughed a little, placing her paw over her muzzle. "The queen taking care of you must be freaking out right now, you at least need to tell them you leave, darling, we wouldn't want to alarm the clan while you're out with us." She said with a soft sigh, her tail now wrapped around her paw as he gaze moved from the kit to Golden, then back and forth, wanting to see Goldenstar's reaction.

Right when Mudtuft spotted a nice spot, he also spotted Bristledawn. Great! Bristle or a nice spot? He sighed and padded towards the cream and white she-cat. He dropped the prey in front of her and purred playfully. "Hungry?" He asked.

Bristledawn’s ears pricked up as she heard a cat padding towards her. Oh great, Mudtuft. Here’s some fun I can find. She purred to herself, watching the brown tomcat walk up to her with a bird. When he dropped it and spoke, Bristledawn smirked. “You think you can buy my affection with that?” She teased playfully, poking it with a gentle paw. “Nah, I require something way more elegant, such as... a white rabbit.” She purred, knowing those creatures were hard to come across. Bristledawn’s words were all in good-humor though, none of them meant to be offensive. And she knew Mudtuft knew that. Ever since the two had met, it had been a constant teasing battle. Something that Bristledawn had actually started to enjoy.

She decided not to go hunting for the same reasons. Well, almost the same, anyhow. She had only ever hunted once as an apprentice and vowed never to do it again. She didn't like hurting anything or anybody with her claws, teeth, or even words, so she was very careful as to what she said. As an apprentice, Inkjoy's mentor had told her to practice hunting on a thrush. She had gladly obliged, killing the bird. But, in the last few moments of the creature's life, she could see something flash in its eyes. A life. A soul. That's when it occurred to her that these animals that they hunted weren't anything to be taken for granted. After she killed that creature, she didn't thank StarClan for its life. She thanked the thrush itself for the life it was giving up to help ShadowClan. After that, she vowed never to harm anything in any way unless absolutely necessary.

Frostedflicker flicked his ears, still trying to come up with a name to fit her face. Still, none came to him. “Well, you should imagine this pelt in green-leaf... white and thick. I am definitely a leaf-bare cat.” Frostedflicker was not looking forward to dealing with the heat that was coming. Plus, all of the leaves and foliage would be coming back, making it hard for his white pelt to blend in with the territory. He was also worried for his kits, becoming apprentices at that time. He hoped they wouldn’t be discouraged by their pelts making it difficult to hunt in the forest. After his many moons, he had finally learned the techniques it took to hunt during green-leaf.

However much he trusted Serval, he didn’t need to know that. He knew he was obvious he was under some stress, but no one needed to know how much. He believed he could keep that to himself. It was for the good of himself, and maybe the good of the clan too. Or was it really? Now that Tallwhisker had pointed out how much he could obsess over the clan, he didn’t know if he was doing too much or too little anymore. He didn’t know what the medium was. Serval hadn’t been at the battle. Golden knew that because he seen all the cats behind him. He could only wonder how Serval would have reacted. Well, knowing as much as he did about Serval, he probably would have fought, but Golden didn’t know for sure. He didn’t exactly like how the battle started, and how it ended, it felt like there was something that still kind of needed to end, not acknowledging the flood. Both clans had just sort of fled. Goldenstar wished that he had never gotten involved, but, alas, here he was. “Not really,” Golden said, completely throwing away his first reason to walk over to him. The teasing caused Golden’s pelt to heat up, though he laughed in the process. Just hoping Serval didn’t step over his boundaries, as they might have an awkward problem to fix then. “Just wanted to chat about...things,” he shrugged, trying not to seem too awkward.
”Glad to hear it. We definitely need our leader right about now,” Servalspots mewed with a sincere smile. He had never been the best at picking up on social cues. And right now, he definitely couldn’t tell that Goldenstar was stressed. Besides, even if he had been able to tell, what could he do about it? The Savannah was bad in these types of situations. He was better at light, airy conversations that didn’t really go anywhere, pointless flirting, and teasing that seemed to never end. Or, battling with opinions. That was one of Servalspots’ favorite things to do, fight with others about their opinions… but he wouldn’t do that to Goldenstar. Especially since the two of them had been getting along so well so far, and Servalspots even respected the leader. He didn’t like showing respect, but he was willing to give a little bit of it to someone who had earned it. Such as a very old warrior, or, in this case… Goldenstar. ”Things, huh?” Servalspots smirked, but turned his body more so that he was facing the smaller tom. ”Alright, friend. Tell me what these “things” are that our esteemed leader has on his mind.” Servalspots smiled as encouragingly as he could… he wasn’t very good at showing encouragement, honestly, but he was trying his best for Golden right now. He knew the smaller tom was kind of awkward, and seemed pretty anxious to him, and he would never want to overwhelm Goldenstar too much. So, encouragement was needed in this situation. Definitely needed.

I mentioned on my profile that I was starting over. A fresh start is best for me right now; I've created quite a few new characters, and they will all be on my site, but not all will be used in roleplay right away. it's likely I'll bring them in more gradually.

Beetlemist smiled softly at the kitten as she stirred in her sleep, the warm safe enviroment seeming to have already improved her condition. "You'll not have to worry about being safe now, the cats of Shadowclan will take care of you. I'll take care of you." The dark she-cat paused realsing she had forgotten the most iportant part of welcoming a kit into the clan, "Shadowclan is a new dawn for you, it seems fitting that you keep that hope with you... Dawnkit."

When Bella’s voice filled his ears, he awkwardly nodded, though he felt as though he hadn’t done enough. Was this what it was like to be a parent? Always stressing over everything involving your kit? He didn’t know, but he didn’t like the feeling that he hadn’t done enough. Although he wanted to protest Bella’s words, he just awkwardly nodded. His feelings were all over the place, looking down at Bunnykit. He was happy that the kit was out, but there was also a feeling of knowing she hadn’t asked to go out, and could have quite possibly have the kit who was caring for her a heart attack.
Bella voiced the words he was thinking, and he nodded. “You’ll have to apologize to her, but not right now,” He said. “It’s your first day out of the nursery, correct?” he smiled. “Let’s enjoy that while we can,” he glanced over at Bella, not knowing why he was looking for her approval, just wanting to know he was doing something right. Looking back at Bunnykit, he tried to come up with a good thing to do. Unable to come up with anything, he decided that it would just be easier to ask Bunnykit what she wanted to do. He didn’t know why he was overthinking this much, but hey, he was doing his best. “What do you want to do?” he asked in a warm voice, trying not to make his smile look too stupid. However, he found it difficult not to, as Bunnykit was there, strong and happy, and it just made him overjoyed for the time being.
