Default House of Maniacs [Private]

When the front door slammed shut, Isaac had scampered away from the door and towards the couch to jump on top. Clearly, the chocolate and white cat had more than a hard time trying to heave himself on the piece of furniture. As a kit, he was lifted easily and placed where he wanted to be, but as he grew older, Isaac had a little too much...to eat. He was a pretty ravenous kit and was now paying for it as he fell down, once again, from trying to climb up. He couldn’t use his claws anymore. This was the fourth couch brought into the abode by the twolegs, and he never missed a lecture when they yelled at him about his scratching ‘funfest’. Isaac’s eyes darted from left to right, in search of a plan. One thing that never failed him? His incredible brain, as he liked to call it. Isaac knew that there were two end tables placed on the sides of the Cream colored couch. One table had a lamp, and the other one had a fern plant. The surrounding area included arm chairs, one lazy boy, and a glass coffee table with numerous of mankind equipment. There was also the wooden, wide Aquariam, where one of his companions; a big-eyed Angelfish swam around contently. Isaac scampered into another room, his brain remembering a stool-like object that the twoleg woman used constantly when trying to reach for certain ingredients in the cabinet. Just as he predicted, the little ladder was in the kitchen, near their food and water bowls. “Aha! Just the item I was looking for...” Isaac’s tail lashed as he used his nose to maneuver the object to the room that it was needed in. It took him a moment to settle the step-ladder in place, near the end of the couch where the arm was. Once it was positioned, Isaac heaved himself easily on the ladder than pulled himself into the crouch with nice effort. However, by time he got all this work done (exercise, really) the car was long gone; out of sight. “Leaping Lizards!” He exclaimed, stomping a paw on the crouch. “I missed them again!” There was a wide window, covered by satin curtains, but still easily see through. Isaac’s front paws pressed against the cold window until his ears pinned, displaying his crestfallen state. He usually hated when the twolegs left him home while they went off to work...a far better place than the comfort of home.

Eventually, Isaac had carefully leapt down from the couch after much hesitation. The young tom sat down, staring up at his angelfish buddy, Busbie, with a tilt of his head. Busbie always been his thinking buddy whenever he was bored. Looking at the pretty fish swim left him in a content, calm manner that he couldn’t explain.

@Empress Of Evil
A small molly lay next the arm of the couch, her long, fluffy tail wrapped protectively around her still body. The she-cat was taking a nap, having just eaten some food. There was nothing Rose liked more than to eat and then take a nap. The she-cat twitched at the noise of something being moved across the shiny, white marble floor, occasionally making an unpleasant screech of sorts. She didn't wake up because she thought the noise was simply something happening in her dream. There wasn't much that could wake up the she-cat from her slumber. She was a pretty deep sleeper. Although despite this, the feeling of the couch sinking downwards was enough to wake her up this time. Her lids flickered upwards, her unblinking vibrant green hues resembling two leaves. The she-cat looked like a pillow on the couch with the way she tightly wrapped around herself and her thick fur pooled around her. She didn't move for a few minutes, totally still as if she were sleeping with her eyes open. She finally did move however and unraveled her self, tail first and then stretching the rest of her body out. She opened her jaws wide, flashing her white canines and making her pink tongue stand out against the black and white. After she was finished, she flopped on the catch and lay there for a minute. She wasn't sure if she quite yet ready to move, but she had someone to scold for waking her up. Suddenly remembering why she had woken up, she rose to her paws and lifted her head. "Isaac, you nee-,” she cut off as she realised the tom was no longer there. Sighing she hopped off the ground gracefully, only staggering a little as she touched the ground. She was a young cat, which meant she only had a small body. Even the height from the top of the sofa to the ground was a bit of a problem. She followed the nose of claws clicking against the marble floor and eventually found her 'house buddy'. She opened her mouth, ready to scold him when she noticed what he was doing. She closed her mouth and let out a quiet snicker, making her presence known.

"I don't see why you just stare at it," she remarked once she'd seated herself down next to the tom. Rose knew of the other kittypet's habit of talking to the fish. She thought it was strange, but amusing too. She would often mock him for it. She was curious as to why Isaac didn't have the natural instincts that a cat should have. Not waiting for a response from the tom, she moved forward and went onto her hind paws, staggering as she tried to maintain her balance and reach for the top of the fish tank too. Even when she was standing at her highest, the tank was still too tall so her paw on grazed the water, making a little ripple. Sighing in disappointment, she dropped back down heavily and stared into the tank, baring her teeth menacingly when the fish swam towards her.

Franklin.
There was no other name to describe her. Rosalind Franklin. Isaac never called her Rosalind. Nor, did he ever call her Rose. The young tom knew that the rose was a flower of a romantic emotion. Given to one to show love and desire. Something that Franklin did not show. Most of the time Isaac kept his distance from the she cat, feeling aggravation from her presence ever since the twolegs decided to bring her home. Isaac didn't understand such ratiocinative. Every cute cat they stumbled across, were they going to give it a home? Quite nonsensical if you asked him. Why would two over-intelligent humans need another cat when they had the tom who was...most likely...the Albert Einstein of the cat species?

Isaac calmly watched the fish swim back and forth in the aquarium. Lacking much space, but didn't have a sense of logic wedged in its mind. It had an aimless direction. Its eyes bulging and its lips pursed. Busbie was the most illiterate creature he ever laid his eyes on, beside Franklin, obviously. Even if the fish was dimwitted to an excess, Isaac was not going to allow the fluffy she cat to use it as a snack. He didn't even bother to acknowledge her as she sat next to him to glance at his object of concentration. His eyes grew as wide as two moons when he saw her too close to his friend. Getting to his paws, Isaac's fur fluffed up, though he wasn't as fluffy as she was, and the fluffing of his fur honestly made him look like a fat beach ball. ''Leave him alone, Franklin!'' Isaac was young. He was still growing into his voice. So, whenever he tried to sound menacing, his tone came out similar between a deepened squeak. ''Don't you have anything better to do than being vexatious?'' He scowled.

Rose didn’t care that her housemate didn’t call her by her nickname or her first name. There was very little that she cared about in general. She was a young cat but she had already developed a rather negative mindset. There was nothing particularly positive about the she-cat. She was rather snappy and not that nice. Her interests involved laughing at Isaac’s failures and scaring other beings away when she was in a bad mood, which was rather often. Some might wonder why Rose had been given such a beautiful name, one that did not seem to suit her. The fluffy black cat had a feeling that she more so represented the thorns on a rose bush, rather than the actual flower. After all, every rose has its thorns.

Rose let out a loud snort at Isaac’s reaction. Did the tom really think that he could scare her? She lived here. She wasn’t afraid of someone threatening her in her own home - even if that someone lived in this house too. Rose had been taken in by their twolegs a moon or two after Isaac, yet she acted as if she owned the place and she had the right to be overconfident and push the tom around. If anyone were to be pushing anyone around, it should be Isaac. But in her opinion, the tom was too weak to push her around so she honestly wasn’t afraid. “No thanks. I’d rather not let this fish continue swimming without a worry. It’s stuck in a tank of water, honestly there could not be anything else to make it easier for me to catch it! No no, I can’t let it go to waste,” she insisted, giving Isaac a wicked grin. She tapped a claw on the fish tank lightly, her claw against the glass creating a weird noise. “Not really,” she said lazily, not giving any sign that she had been offended by the tom’s insult. She knew what vexatious meant. After all, Isaac might be very intelligent but that didn’t mean that every smart brain cell in the world went to him. She had some brains and she knew big words too. She just didn’t use them. She was too cool to seem so nerdy.

Isaac would had followed Franklin, bulldozing if he didn't have problems with heaving himself places. Since the twolegs didn't have little twoleg kits of their own, he was subject to a spoiled life. He was given anything and everything he wanted...until Franklin came along. Whether they thought he would be lonely or needed a sibling, Isaac didn't appreciate the company. Admittedly, she was quite mundane in his opinion. Condescending as well. He couldn't remember ever having an intriguing conversation with her. Everyday, Isaac found himself in a contest with her - not more so when it comes to intelligence, but spewing ridiculous insults at each other until it got on the verge of invective.

Isaac looked around for a moment, glimpsing at what he could do to save his thinking buddy. ''There's no way I'm gonna watch you put your grimy paws to mess with him!'' He responded, his front paw stomping the ground to show his displeased nature. Franklin was more lithe than he was. She was able to fit in confined spaces with her limber body, while he...could not. The words that tumbled out her mouth caused the tom to give her an unimpressed look, wondering if she had a brain located in her airy skull. He padded closer, using two paws to balance himself against the bottom of the fish tank. ''You know, Franklin. I knew you never had a brain in that know-it-all cranium of yours, but had it ever occur to you,'' At this point his voice heightened, annoyed, ''fish needs water to breathe?!'' So, indeed, she wasn't putting the fish out his misery - and, even if Busbie were miserable in the tank, he wouldn't allow her the victory of eating his friend. He pawed at her with sheathed claws. ''Get down from there and leave him alone!'' The pudgy chocolate cat had let out a groan. He should had been used to Franklin's antics, but in his opinion, living with her, he felt she was making him psychotic everyday.

The fluffy she-cat knew that Isaac couldn’t stand her, but she didn’t even try to make herself fa more pleasant cat to be around. Quite frankly, she didn’t care about the other beings around her. As long as she could what she wanted, she was happy and nothing else mattered. The twolegs pampered her and she could have whatever she wanted as long as she continued to cuddle up to them whenever possible. With just two cats for a family, their twoleg owners gave them everything. Somehow they were able to buy whatever they want. They lived a big twoleg nest so she was guessing that they could afford anything after that. Of course, there were times where they were unkind enough to give her and Isaac just one thing to share between the two of them, but Rose ended up taking it in the end. Honestly, Rose was slightly surprised that the pudgy tom cat had managed to put up with her for this long. She knew that if she were Isaac, she would’ve done whatever she could to kick herself out of the house. But she wasn’t Isaac. She was herself and that meant she was happy to be unpleasant and selfish because she wasn’t the one suffering from it. Rose smiled at the thought. Poor little Isaac, she thought as she looked at the tom, her eyes almost sympathetic. She wasn’t sure as to how he was going to put up with her for the next few years.

“Awww, wittle Isaac’s sooo angwy,” she cooed mockingly as the tom stomped his paw on the ground. Rose laughed afterwards, her eyes glinting with amusement. The she-cat wouldn’t say that she had bad intentions. It wasn’t as if her heart were set on doing evil and truly making someone miserable. She was just making her life as entertaining as possible, and it was part of her personality anyway. She was born to be confident and outspoken. She would have to sacrifice the chance of having friends for it, but she was happy with that. She could find other ways to make herself content with life. “Of course I know that. I’m not stupid,” she said, rolling her eyes. “I’m simply saying that while the fish may be in its….natural habitat, but that matters little to me. I want a snack and it would be stupid of me to refuse such an opportunity. The fish has basically been served to me!” Her eyes glinted hungrily as she stared into the tank and she ran her tongue over her lips. “No thanks,” she snorted.
From there she to moved forward and stretched up as far as she could possibly go. She got a grip on the top of the tank but only hardly. Using whatever strength she had, she heaved herself and used her hind legs to help push herself up. Unfortunately the tank was made out of some sort of shiny, hard substance and she had nothing to grip onto. Her paws scrabbled against the tank as she tried to get up. She unsheathed her claws and they scratched against the glass, leaving claw marks and making an unpleasant noise too. For a few moments, Rose hung there, her body curled up as she caught her breath, her body heaving for breath from the effort.

As far as physical capabilities went, Isaac was on the shallow in of that gene pool. He only had his wittiness and intelligence to make up in what he lacks when it came to 'sporting movements'. That didn't deter the pudgy tom from his state of mind. Cats were known for their flexibility, and while he was not, he believed that a cat's mind was the most important thing to have. What was the point of skill if one lacked mentality? Rose was a sneaky creature, and most times - all the time - Isaac wonder how in tarnation did he get stuck with this critter? He used to believe that he wasn't enough for his twolegs, and that they filled the void in their heart by adopting Rose into their home. His face scrunched up in an unpleasant way when she mocked him. ''You're so mature, Franklin. Making little kit sounds. Very professional.'' He hated when she made fun of him, but he wasn't surprised that this happened on the time. Rarely, he'd ever get along with the she cat. The two of them simply could not indulge in a normal conversation without one of them getting easily frustrated, or insulted, and honestly...Isaac was a bit conceited, and he felt that Rose wasn't worthy of being in his company. He stared at her blankly as she spoke, observing her expressions carefully. He wished he had some way of causing a distraction...maybe like turning on that machine that usually freaked both of them out whenever the twoleg molly used it to make trash disappear. That thing was nowhere in sight, and Isaac's heart felt like it was going to crash if Rose managed to attack and eat his dear friend, Busbie. ''If Busbie was served to you, don't you think he would be in your dish bowl instead of his home?'' He cautioned, giving her an almost-like smug grin. ''Sometimes I wonder if you think you make sense, Franklin. I would say your cranium is full of empty air.'' He chided, plopping down on his rump with a snort.

He visibly became stiff as Rose continued to prod Busbie, the gears in her mind possibly trying to cause a wreck on him. Strength-wise, Isaac most likely couldn't stop Rose because in that area she beat him, paws down. But, on the other hand, he'd be able to watch her fail. Even the mastermind kitty forgot about the shiny substance of the habitat - Busbie was safe...that's all that mattered, and his theory was only proved right as he watched the troublesome she cat try to grip on the material. He literally had to cringe, lowering himself into a crouch since the noise from her claws were really doing a number on his ears. ''Gahhh!'' He groaned, flattening his ears to his head, ''Don't you know how to be sensitive to others around you!?'' The tom growled, shooting his companion a glare, seeing her hanging there. He made no effort to exactly help her as he coolly sat back to watch her in all her glory of failing. At least that was the only way she could entertain him. When she was failing. He snickered at her, his tail swishing behind him. ''So,'' He began, swiping his paw over his nose for a quick second, ''What did you say about you being not being stupid because I beg to differ.'' He licked his maw with his tongue, deciding to get up and approach the tank that his little buddy was in; floating around with a naive sense of direction. He couldn't help but get into teacher mode now, wanting to tease her for her failure. ''Or, did you forget that your little 'snack' is circumscribe in a protective cage of substance that doesn't seem as easy...to break.'' At least, he thought that the shiny substance was constricted. They couldn't break it so easily, in his mind, as far as a cat knew, but maybe the two legs knew how to do it. Yet, the sound of her claws surely made a screeching noise that might as well broke the darn thing. ''I wouldn't think I would have to educate you on such things, surely, but then again, it is such a astonishment to see you fail...at practically everything. It makes my day a lot brighter.'' He threw up at her, smirking. It was a rare occurrence to see Rose do anything idiotic by his standards, so when the chance floated by, it was always remarkable for him to enjoy. That's only because he usually failed at everything himself, and usually was the cause of her laughter. ''You might as well get down here before you break a bone or two.'' He warned, rolling his eyes.

The fluffy she-cat rolled her eyes. "You don't need professionalism to make fun of someone, Isaac. I thought that a nerd like you would know that already," Rose snorted. She wasn't surprised that the tom was going to insult her maturity as his comeback. Obviously the tom would say something too smart that most cats would simply laugh at his intelligent nature. Perhaps I should give him a lesson in using comebacks which actually work, she thought for a moment. Nah. As embarrassing as it was for her to be found living in the same twoleg nest as that nerd, she quite enjoyed laughing at his failures, just as much as he enjoyed laughing at her. "Sweetie, don't use a comeback unless you've heard me use it, then you'll know it's actually good," she said, yawning and shooting him a sassy smile. Rose rarely used the word 'sweetie', but this was one of the times where more sass was required and she felt that it made her seem a lot more sophisticated while at the same time allowed her to be rude.

At Isaac's next comeback, Rose had to admit that that was a pretty good comeback. Still, she remained undeterred. "Basically, Isaac. The keyword was basically," she said calmly, although the look she gave him was as sharp as claws. He wasn't supposed to be good at comebacks! That was the thing that she enjoyed laughing at the most. He was meant to suck! Comebacks were her talent! Rose would've started sulking if she hadn't realized that she shouldn't be caring so much. Since when did you care about a problem for this long? Rose usually stopped caring about something after a couple of seconds, yet this time she had taken a lot longer to stop caring. She shrugged, and just like that she stopped caring. She smoothed her fur, which had unintentionally risen as if she were facing an enemy. But then again, Isaac was her enemy. The enemy of which she unfortunately had to share a house with. "If my cranium was full of empty air, I wouldn't be alive," she shot back. "Sometimes I wonder if you think you make sense." Rose didn't usually use Isaac's comebacks, but she would put aside that rule for the sake of using his own words against him.

The she-cat had to admit, the noise was pretty terrible. But she gritted her teeth and ignored this. The noise didn't matter. The reward in the end was all that mattered. Busbie. "Well what do you think?" she asked through gritted teeth. Her arms were burning with effort to keep her clinging to the smooth brim. Wasn't the answer obvious? Rose was somewhat confused as to why Isaac would ask such a stupid question, but she also knew why. He was pointing out how insensitive she was, except he was doing it in a subtle manner. She bet he was trying to make her admit that she was insensitive.

"Ow!" Rose yelped as she landed on the floor. She managed to land on her paws, but the slipping movement was enough to put lots of pressure on her ankles when she landed. She hissed before straightening herself up. Luckily the tank wasn't too tall. The ebony feline didn't make contact with the tom. She knew that he would just laugh at her. So instead she ignored whatever she had in reaction to her failure and walked back over to the tank to inspect her work. She noticed the claw marks that now ran along the once smooth surface, but even that wasn't enough to make it crack. A loud growl rumbled from the back of her thought. "Shut up!" she hissed at Isaac as he spoke. Rose hated failing, and she especially hated failing in front of Isaac. She was angry that she hadn't gotten to her snack yet and the tom wasn't helping at all. When the tom spoke once more, the she-cat prepared herself to cut at him with her sharp-tongue, but instead, his words gave her and idea. "Maybe it's not easy to break. But that doesn't mean it's unbreakable..." Rose murmured thoughtfully. With that, she looked around wildly, searching for anything that looked heavy. There. She saw it. It was a pot plant, resting close to the edge of a wooden table. On the floor beside the table was the aquarium. She imagined pushing the pot plant off the table and traced it's path with her leaf green gaze. It was topple. Right on top of one of the walls of the fish tank. She grinned. "My bones don't have to break. But the pot can," she said to the other kittypet. She ran over to one of the wooden things that the twolegs would often sit on at around dusk. Slowly but with determination, she made her way up till finally she was standing on top of the table, her sides heaving with effort from her climb. But she didn't stop. She put her body against the plant and started to push, closer and closer to the table edge.

Isaac was a young cat, so obviously while he was very mature despite his age, he still had little strands of immaturity wrapped in him. Like his impatience when dealing with Rose. In his eyes, all he known her to be was a drama queen. He didn’t like being apart of her gags when she made fun of him. He didn’t have the patience to not respond to her with some witty quip of his own. ‘’Do not call me sweetie, Franklin!’’ The thought of being called names that sounded like a croon to the ear, Isaac loathed. Mainly because he knew she was being sarcastic and only wanting to get a rile out of him. With Rose, she made it easy for him to snap on her because he no patience. At all. For Rose. ‘’It wasn’t a comeback, Franklin. Unlike you, I’m much more educated than your pea-sized brain. Quite frankly, I think Busbie is much smarter than you!’’ He huffed. The chocolate pudgy tom could do this all day. Spitting back banter and insults with the molly. It was a daily routine for the both of them. It should had tired them out, but they were both young cats that wanted to stay on top. Isaac had a large personality, and more than a large ego, and Rose combated that well when she knocked him off the pedestal that he put himself on. ‘’It just makes sense that I’m trying to stop you from doing something tremendously foolhardy. But, go ahead, put on a show, and embarrass yourself. Just a warning: I’m gonna laugh pretty hard.’’ He hid a smirk, trying to stay on the sidelines to watch her move about. In his mind, he knew it would be impossible. And, he always regarded her as very unintelligent, as harsh as that sounded. He truly believe that he was the smartest cat to walk the earth.

If he was being honest, Rose amused him, as much as he loathed the she cat. She was comically interesting, but he also found her boring as well. Maybe that was because she didn’t share the same interests as him. It was hard to get along with someone who constantly put him down and made fun of him and vice versa. Isaac covered a laugh by bringing his paw to his maw, snickering at her as she countered his insult towards her. He figured she was catching a little attitude, sounding like she had been sulking. Her words were pretty sharp, but did little to upset the tom. ‘’I don’t have to make sense when I’m talking to imbeciles, Franklin. You can understand me just fine.’’ He stressed the insult out, perhaps wanting to rile her up since she done it plenty times to him. It was a back and forth thing, really. She grinded his gears just as he did to her. If he was honest, she possibly annoyed him more than he annoyed her. Isaac always tried to stir clear of her, but end up crossing paths with her on a daily, and it was always some kind of bickering going on. He stayed quiet, seeing that she was determined to get into the creature stuck in water. Isaac blinked, possibly thinking of all the ways he would had done differently to get the fish, if he was her. He wouldn’t immediately try to cling onto something that had no possible grip to it, that was for sure.

When she failed, Isaac’s immaturity showed through. He practically dropped onto the ground, rolling onto his back and laughing up a storm at her failure. He had that annoying laugh, too. That laugh that said ‘I told you so’ when she failed. It was a rarity for Rose to make him laugh. This was one of those times. He purposely laughed much louder when she told him to shut up, only wanting to irk her further. He got up, not bothering to smooth out his pelt as he observed her work after her, his face scrunching up at the claw marks she left. ‘’They see that you done this, Franklin. You’d be in a lot of trouble. Clever work, brainiac.’’ He jeered with a shake of his head. He would think that the she cat was smart enough to leave this kind of stuff alone. Even he was smart enough to not bother much things in the house. But, then again...if the twolegs knew what their precious kitty was up to, would they possibly put her back out on the street? Isaac almost glowed at that thought, so he ushered her, ‘’Oh, please continue. I can’t wait to see what mastermind idea you got behind all this.’’ His voice was dripping with sarcasm, a roll of his eyes. He watched her scatter around the area, landing on the familiar pot in the house. He started to stiffen up, his eyes widening, wondering exactly what she was up to. He couldn’t stop her - not this easily. She was already moving towards it. Isaac wanted to see Rose fail. He wanted to see her greatly embarrass herself and think about how ludicrous her actions were...but this? This was taking it too far.

‘’Alright, Franklin. Just stop it!’’ He called up to her, not daring to climb one of those things. He wasn’t a great climber. He hardly could lift himself up the stairs fast enough. He did make it to the front, seeing that she was determined to push the pot into the aquarium. That would mean...Busbie would die. He couldn’t lose one of his best friends and thinking buddies! ‘’What you are doing is absolutely barbaric! I know you look dense sometimes...okay, all the time...but don’t be dumb. Get down from there!’’ He scolded, a clear scowl planted on his expression. It was all fun and games when she failed over and over, but he knew that tracing the pathway of the pot and aquarium...it would be the end. It clicked in the cat genius’ mind that if their twolegs come home, she wouldn’t be the only one in trouble. Twolegs couldn’t understand them, so Isaac couldn’t tell the truth if they possibly would believe Isaac was the one who committed this crime. ‘’Get down before you get us both in trouble!”
