Again, Birchfrost let out a hum - she wasn't expecting Stormclaw to react cheerfully to that. What a strange tom, she thought, her tail giving a small flick behind her. "That's a weird thing to brag about," she commented lightly.

StormClaw relaxed his muscles and purred softly. “I only do because it won’t make anyone feel bad about themselves. In fact, it most likely makes them feel good.” Ever so slightly, he moved closer to the cat, and began to purr again, ever so slightly.

StormClaw bit his lip softly. “Well, if I was to say, ‘I’m the deputy’s son’ or something along the lines of that, they might not feel like what they think is cool about themselves is cool anymore. But if I tell them something useless, they won’t need to feel sad!” He looked at the cat again, seeing if she could understand through his fast talking.

Birchfrost processed his little speech for a few moments before she gave a slow nod of her head. "You mean that you put yourself down so that other cats can feel better?" she asked.
