He was all the family she had left. Sure she had hoped for more family when she had found Tess during the period of exile, but then he vanished, and she was left alone....again. As the apprentice launched at her, Smokeblossom tensed her muscles. She had had an amazing mentor, Halestar herself, she knew how to take care of herself in battle. It was just the fact that she was not as bulky, as strong, nor as thick framed as some of the Shadowclan cats. Like her brother, she was thin, which was hidden by her bushy pelt. She was knocked over by the blow, but rolled onto her back, pinning her ears back and drawing her paws close to her chest, ready to strike, and protect her soft belly at the same time.

How about you bring in a little more action and fun?" he called out to her, hoping she got the hint. He himself was growing excited. The white feline smirked in pleasure as Smokeblossom rolled over. She hadn't been quick enough to strike... but she hadn't needed to. Whatever was going on here, Rusticash didn't sound too excited. It was time to bring in the fun and excitement, as he had asked. "Yes, Rusticash." She answered, keeping her voice polite and obedient as though she meant to do nothing more then lunge for the dappled feline again. Her claws slid out of their sheaths, making her soft paws suddenly look very dangerous. But she kept them hidden. And then she sheathed them again, before lunging for Smokeblossom and unsheathing them at the same time. This was it. If this blow didn't strike home-- which was, once again, the she cat's shoulder, aimed to at least disable some of her movements slightly-- then Clawpaw would be discovered and Rusticash would be angry. Neither of which the somewhat pretty female wanted. She wanted to do this right. She would be a warrior. And whoever this was, for whatever reason Rusticash wanted her to do this, Clawpaw would be satisfied with her work afterwards. She would be happy. She would be free. A steady purr emitted from her maw as she seemed to hang in the air for forever. Why did it always seem as though it were going to be hours before her blows landed? Perhaps she was just plain impatient. Then again, maybe not... for after all, there was always some logic to her eagerness. And this time she wanted the support and acceptance of her very own mentor. Neither of which she would probably get, but at least some form of acknowledgement letting her know she was doing good, or the right thing.

Default Re: ShadowClan Apprentices' Den

Gingerpaw sighed, she might as well be checking the elders for ticks this was boring. Nothing ever happened for apprentices, always sitting in the apprentices den or out hunting and training to fight. Gingerpaw looked out of the den, the warriors were hunting for the clan and well fighting. Though Gingerpaw preferred peace this was not exactly what she had in mind, her sensitive nature came from being part kitty pet thats what people said. Ginger paw didn't care she was part kittypet, she got more respect then Half-Clan cats Gingerpaw could not stand them, though it wasn't there fault it was their parents.Gingerpaw closed her eyes, thoughts still on her heritage.

When Gingerpaw opened her eyes she saw she wasn't in the apprentices den, but in the woods where her mother had died, Gingerpaw looked around frantically, her heart beat faster every second. When Gingerpaw finally spotted her, her mother was being pinned down by a Thunderclan cat, the same way she had died. Everything went blurry and she saw her father leave the clan, before a silent sleep took over.

Though inwardly he cringed enormously at his direct approach, Fallenkit faked a stoic expression, still staring up at his... what did he call it? What was it called? Not a father, no... Not a father figure, either, right? Swallowing hard, Fallen replied, "We don't look anything alike. You have no family that looks like me, and nor does Squirrelleap. Unless neither of you are my parents at all... But Squirrelleap wouldn't have named me this if she wasn't. The others don't know, but... Why? Why didn't you tell me? How don't you know?" Beginning to feel anger grab at him, the small tom shoved it back, back, farther back than his earliest memory, for he couldn't afford anger...Not now... Not now... Continuing on almost without thinking, his thoughts poured out of him before he could stifle them; "I am still Halestar's nephew, but I feel she's going to crumble like Squirrelleap. You are not my father... You will never be a father to me. I will not tell my brothers and sister, but I know. I can't forget. I'll know forever!" The kit's voice began to rise, and he was unable to control it, allowing every word he could think of to shove it's way out of his mouth. "You both have ruined this! You let her! You let her go and be with someone else! This is all you! You and her! I'm ashamed to even have known you!"
His last words rang out across the clearing, surely turning heads, and as he realized what he'd said, he backed up unnoticeably, staring at his own dark paws in horror as if they were covered in blood. He tried to open his mouth, to rake back the words, but he couldn't manage to unclamp his clenched jaw. Help me.

Default Re: ShadowClan Nursery

The Siamese she-kit sat silently in the nursery next to her siblings Puddlekit and Smokekit, her blue eyes glittering with hidden excitement. The kit twitched her tail as her mother licked her head. "Come on, Echokit!" Softpelt purred, "go play with Marshkit, Patchkit, and Larchkit!" She coaxed the stiffened kit, who squeaked in complaint. She sighed, walking towards Marshkit with a tiny smile. "Echokit!" She squealed, her tortoiseshell pelt bristled out as her brother Larchkit came over with a purr. "Sorry about her, Echokit.." Larchkit apologized, bumping Marshkit as she squeaked and flipped his ear with her paw as Echokit giggled, shaking her head. "It's okay, Marshkit is fun!" She chirped, letting go of her cold expression from earlier as she talked with the chatty kit

Fleetear looks on at Fallenkit, weakness striking his legs as he falls back trying to sit down. The thought never occurred to him having always thought that he cared too much. Could he have not cared enough, to follow Squirrelleap through her pushing him away? He blinks, jumping out of his thoughts and back to the terrified kit before him. Peering over, he could see Marshclaw, of all cats, had taken notice. "Fallenkit..." I'm one of the best warriors, but ive failed. I failed my mate, I failed my kits, I failed my sister, and now im about to fail Fallenkit. Can I still call myself a Shadowclan warrior? "...Im sorry. Your right. I'm not your father, but your mother trusts me enough to take care of you and your siblings. If you know what to do to make everything right again, I would love to hear it. But for now, please accept my apology and let's take this quietly to the nursery?" He tried his best not to sound forceful, but the urgency in his voice implied that his mind is racing pulsing faster than his heart as he stood back up to gesture escorting him back into the nursery. So many things nearly slipped his maw through sheer emotion, Marshclaw can't know any more of his failings.

"Oh, okay." he replied after she answered his last question about Moondancer. "Hey mom! Can I be your deputy?" he asked, his eyes alight. "I mean, I'm more loyal than any warrior, I'm strong, fast, playful, and everyone-" he interrupted himself and launched at her, holding to her neck as he looked at her. "-loves me." he meowed, and gave her nose a lick.

Giggling, he pawed her ears playfully. "I'm the best deputy anyone could as for! And, and I'll do my job! I'll be nice to Duskshine! I'll be the best of them all!" he mrewed before he pressed his nose against hers. "What do ya say?" he asked.
Halestar blinked and watched the kit, gently pushing him away and chuckling softly as he "attacked" her. "Well, little one, you are a bit too little to be a deputy. You have to be a warrior- and have to have mentored one apprentice before you can become a deputy." she said, smiling and patting his head with her paw. "Besides you have much training and growing to do before either of those things can happen."

Smokeblossom thought she saw a glimpse of claws, but thought better of it when she checked again. The young feline only assumed that it was her mind playing tricks on her, paranoia. She was about to roll back onto her paws when Clawpaw jumped. It seemed like only a matter of moment and she was on top of her. Wait, this wasn't right. A loud cry of pain escaped Smokeblossoms maw. It was a cry of pain. That hurt, more than it should have. She kicked the apprentice off with her hind legs, dislodging the claws from her shoulder. She looked down and to her horror, blood was running from the wound. Stunned, she realized something. This was her brother. Had she been so blinded by what she wanted to believe that she couldn't see the truth? Rusticash had tried to kill her before, mwheres had she trusted him again? Because she wanted to believe he was good. That he could change. That he could be a better cat. This was apparently not true, and she knew that this had to be another attempt to get rid of her. She too unsheathed her claws, hissing, eyes pointed at Eusticash, not the apprentice. "Y-you're d-dragging-g a-an apprentice int-to this n-now?" She hissed at him, not even caring about her voice. She whipped back around to the apprentice, a disappointed look worm on her face. She wasn't mad at the apprentice, but she was enraged by her brother. He had most likely corrupted this she cat, told her his ways and taught her that way. Rusticash didn't seem to be satisfied with anything. Smokeblossom bushed up her pelt and glared at the apprentice. "I-I'm not fighting y-you." She stuttered, pale yellow hues still fixed on the white she cat. "He's u-using y-you."

Rusticash ignored the hateful glances from his sister, eyes focused solely on Clawpaw. "What are you waiting for Clawpaw, keep going! Show this warrior how I taught you to fight." He smiled, his eyes sparkling in menace. He was growing anxious as he awaited the time. Clawpaw was doing great, all she needed to do was injure her some more and then he could swoop in and end it all.

He laughed as she pushed him away and he rolled onto his back, nipping and clawing her paw gently. He listened as she listed all the things he had to do to become a deputy and his ears fell. "Aw man! But mom, aren't you a leader? Can't you just work around it?" he asked.

And as she said he was going to need more training he only gave you a huff before he smiled yet again at her. "Well, if you say so." he purred, and jumped at her again, only to catch onto her neck once more, and he pressed his nose to his.

"Hey mom, do you think I will ever become a cool leader like you?" he asked with a purr, smiling softly as he held onto her, his bicoloured eyes alight with play and love as he stared into the leader's eyes.

(Sorry these posts are so short I'm super busy trying to organize my site and draw and stuff)
The senior warrior instantaneously grew serious as she settled in front of the apprentice. Her mind raced with moves she could teach him. Simple... Simple... A blow perhaps? Glancing around he clearing, Badgerbite spotted a small collection of branches intertwined together. Lifting herself up from the ground, she casually strolled over and hooked her claws in the clutter, dragging it across the clearing and back to Ratpaw. "Ok, so this is your enemy. Until we have the chance to practice with another mentor and apprentice, this pile of twigs is your worst nightmare, got it?" Positioning the pile directly in front of Ratpaw, Badgerbite lifted her paw slightly off the ground. "This is a blow with the paw, relatively easy and you should already know how to do it, but starting simple. Now. I want you to strike the direct center...." She motioned to the center with the tip of her tail, "...of pile with your claws sheathed. This technique is used during practice. Never use your claws against another apprentice, unless they have it coming of course!" She purred, amused with her own joke.

"Let me demonstrate." Badgerbite gently nudged Ratpaw's flank, pushing him to her right as she positioned herself in front of the twigs. "When you go to hit, watch where you're hitting, but also watch around you." In one fluid motion, the molly landed a blow to the center, causing the pile to go down with the force and quickly spring back up once Badger retracted her paw back to her body. "Can you explain to me why this move is so important?"
