StarClan comprises warrior ancestors of the Clans that accept those that lived an honorable life and followed the Warrior Code into their ranks. While they serve as the guardians of the Clans, their influence on the physical world is limited.
The Dark Forest houses the felines that maliciously broke the Warrior Code. Murderers and traitors prowl through the endless night, seeking out the vulnerable within the living in order to corrupt them in their vile ways.
Outside of the Clans and beyond the Twolegplace lies a world of opportunity for those who don't belong to a faction. Loners, rogues, and even some courageous kittypets are welcomed to try their luck in surviving without the security of Clan life.
