After Nectarflame's whole meeting where I had to leave, I felt too embarrassed to come home. I was scared- he stopped to take a shaky breath. I was afraid my family and Clanmates would think less of me. That I would be less of the cat I had been. The idea of my family - especially my kids - thinking I was something less than what I had been was unbearable. he shuddered, still not looking at the molly.

Blue eyes watched as Graysquirrel dove into his explanation for being gone, and more than not she found herself rather disappointed. This was the father of Bushtuft, Mistheart, and Rainhound. Cloudyflight... Four incredible warriors - and instead of wishing with everything in him to see his kits again... he had been scared. It made the silver bengal want to claw his ears off when she thought of how much he had missed out on seeing in his kits lives.

"I find it rather odd that you wanted your Clanmates and family to not think less of you, but that is precisely what is likely to happen should they hear the reasoning behind why you left. The life of a warrior is tough, and I understand that. However, that is never an excuse to leave behind your family. You have missed so much of your kits lives. Bushtuft. Rainhound. Mistheart. Cloudyflight. They are all warriors now. Warriors. They have made the same vow you did - and as far as I can tell, are doing a hell of a better job at upholding it."

Were her words scathing? She certainly hoped so - because the cat before her was not worthy of knowing the brilliant and wonderful cats his kits had turned out to be. But she knew that no matter her feelings on the matter, turning Graysquirrel away and preventing his kits from making their own choice on whether they wanted him back in their lives was not her call.

So with a sigh, she shook her head. "You get one chance, Graysquirrel. One. If you run off after this, or get scared, or leave, you are to stay gone. Understood?" With another measured glance, Cinderstar nodded back towards camp.

Pausing her walk throughout the territory in favor of listening for the source of a cat who had called her voice, Cinderstar easily detected that it belonged to Firelight. What had the elder been up to? Emerging from behind a large tree, Cinderstar watched the elder. "Where have you been?" she questioned.
