Wolfdancer didnt like to pull the victim card, but she didnt hurt like this before their conversation. They couldn't see the hints of insecurity she felt, the shreds of confidence she was losing. It wasn't entirely Honeycombs fault--it was her choice to train in the darkforest. It was her choice to earn all of these scars along her pelt. And even with physical evidence that she wasnt okay-Honeycomb couldnt even grasp that Wolfdancer might atleast a bit sensitive after being denied. "Cool," the grey shecat said briefly, not really looking in Honeycombs direction. She was annoyed now. She had a habit of saying cruel things when angry, so instead she decided she would just go. Uncoiling around Honeycomb she already felt a pang of regret in her chest. She already missed the contact. She stood up, eyes looking directly for the camp exit. "Im going to go train, see you later." he body screaming in pain when she started to walk, a noticeable limp. Her eyes were heavy with exhaustion, a yawn coming over her. But she didnt care anymore, it seemed like Honeycomb didnt anyway.
Honeycomb stood up, struggling for a moment before fixing her with a level gaze. They would not cry out; they would be… neutral. Or at least, they'd try to be. Their sincerity seemed not to be effective; the small feline had spent enough time around Wolfdancer to know that their words and actions had a serious effect. She hadn’t recovered, and it was understandable. With all she’d gone through after their last actual interaction, it would be a surprise if she had. Honey had some difficulties with empathy at times, but they weren’t stupid-- she’d taken a hit from this, but it would be puerile and simply untoward to suggest that they’d gone unscathed. Sure, it was stupid of them to take and then act like they could just give her what she wanted, but Wolfdancer seemed to be seeing things solely from her own perspective. (It was for good reason, but they didn’t know that.)
She took a few paces. Honey struggled to get the word out, but did, vehemently attempting to stop her. “Don’t.”, they mewed. And then, softer-- “Please don’t do this.” With their voice half-breaking, it was hard not to see exactly how their behaviour was infuriating; they hated it, the way they tried to seem like they were the one actually being harmed, but they couldn’t stop. It was their fault, they knew now. Their fault she hated herself, her fault she wasn’t eating, that she could barely walk. They did this to her. The enby didn’t know how to apologise, but at least acting like they cared would do something, though they did not know what.
