He only poked fun at her sleeping habits because... well, let’s say that Slatesting pretty much slept for herself and him. Woolly tended to have trouble sleeping, while it seemed, to him, she could fall asleep any time. The only times he could fall asleep well was when some cat hummed or sang to themself in their nest. Star Cats, it was like his weakness.
