The queen looked at him wearily. "Maria..." she meows quietly. "Is this your place? I'm sorry to intrude. I'm just so tired and my twolegs kicked me out and I have no where to go... I just need to stay one night if you need me to leave.." she was rambling. It was a cute, nervous habit she'd had since she was a kit.

Maria smiles. "Are you sure?" she asks, curling her tail over her round belly. She had good reason to be nervous. She'd been abandoned so many times. First by her parents, then her mate, then her twolegs. She studies this tom. Seemingly kind, not bad looking... Maybe he could grow to love her, and her kits.
