Shadyheart has lived in the clan since he was born, but he doesn't want to be in Shadowclan anymore and wants to live the life of a kittypet. The tom goes on a little hunt by the Riverclan border with Tigerfur, [Cat 2], and [Cat 3]. The three of four of them are successfully hunting when Shadyheart falls into the River while trying to catch a water vole. Shadyheart is struggling in the water and his Tigerfur, [Cat 2], and [Cat 3] try their best to help him, but realize if they do they will lose their lives to and it's better for one to die then all of them. Shadyheart is dead or say they think and they head back to camp to tell everyone the news.

Shadyheart is not dead and gets saved by a group of Rogues. They are all friendly towards him since he almost drowned. The tom gets settled among them until he recovers and [Rogue 1], [Rogue 2], and [Rogue 3] realize he's not happy where he is and ask him what's wrong. Shadyheart tells them that he would like to go to the two-leg place and join thrm. They are tell him that it was fine and they will help him find the two-leg place for protection.

After a while Shadyheart is taken in by a two-leg and gets his name changed to Mud. The rogues will often visit him. Shadowclan will believe that he's dead.
