Ember sat in her new den. She lined her nest with moss, and sewed thick branches into the den. Ember had always wanted to meet new cats, but until she had escaped from an isolated Twoleg barn, she had been alone. Now's my chance...

Beck, a longhaired, tuxedo tom, caught the scent of a rogue she-cat while walking through the forest. He flicked his tail. Hmph. The last time I met another rogue, I almost got killed. I hope this goes well. He heaved a sigh, and prayed the she-cat would be friendly.

Streak, a grey-ish blue, somewhat long-haired tom, padded nervously away from the squabbling cats he came in contact with. He scented 2 other cats and he got ready to run, but he decided to stay and try to befriend them. It'd be better for me to have more friends than foes in this cruel world. he thought to himself. I guess I'll say hi.

(Streak is kind of a nervous wreck; he is literally scared of everything that kills him; which is a lot of stuff in this forest.)

Beck cleared his throat, approaching the source of the scent.

"Hello?" he meowed timidly. "Is anyone there?"

Streak saw one of the cats he scented. He decided to say hi, but he still kept his guard up. He padded over the cat he scented. "Hello" he said to the tuxedo tom, hoping his tone wasn't startling. "Did you scent someone over there?" he asked, trying to have a conversation "I did too; wanna say hi?"

"Heh," Beck chuffed. "You're the nicest loner I've ever met." He approached the tom. "And to answer your question, yes; I did."

Streak padded toward the towering loner to sit by him, his 6 moon-old paws softly hitting the ground. He sat by the tom looking in the direction of the second scent. "Hey, what's your name?' he asked. "My name's Streak."

"Name's Beck." He gazed forward. "Still new to these parts. Maybe we should check out whoever... she is." He flicked his tail in the she-cat's direction.

"Sure!" Streak replied happily. "Should we go to her or wait?" he then asked, getting ready to follow Beck. "He seems nice..." Streak then mewed to himself quietly.

(Streak has this underlying quirk; he mews to himself)

"She seems like she doesn't want disturbed," Beck replied, watching the den before him closely. "Maybe we can come back another time. Want to head somewhere else?"
