Hello! My friend @
TeamRiverRipple and I decided to do this plot and I am hoping it will be interesting enough to get plenty of attention. I would like all of the roles to be filled fairly quickly. This is NOT first come, first serve; I will choose people who's characters I think will fit best. Without further ado, let's get into the plot.
Hushkit is a young Windclan kit who happens to be deaf. Softkit is her best friend. The two do
everything together, and they love to play games. Hushkit doesn't talk much, but she still enjoys Softkit's company, and is willing to even nap with her. They are so close that every other kit just wants to be a part of their little friendship. When it comes close for them to become apprentices, they spend a lot more time together, craving the little time they've got left as kits, because when they're in training, they wouldn't have as much time for games and naps.
Their apprentice ceremony arrives and they are given the names Hushpaw and Softpaw. Hushpaw becomes friends with an older apprentice.
Friend is a she-cat who seems to just be so fun and clever, and her jokes always make Hushpaw laugh. When she is one day hanging out with
Friend and
Friend suggests sneaking out of camp to go explore twolegplace, Hushpaw eagerly agrees, and goes to where Softpaw is in camp and asks if she would like to come along. Softpaw is in a bad mood, and snaps at Hushpaw, saying that what Hushpaw was suggesting was "wrong" and "dishonorable". Hushpaw argues back that "it'll be fine" and "they won't get caught". Softpaw growls and yells for Hushpaw to leave her alone, and that they were not friends anymore. Hushpaw scurries away, and goes back to
Friend, and they sneak off out of camp.
While out in the territory, Hushpaw and
Friend get caught by
Warrior and are escorted back to camp, and are punished by having to clean out the elder's nests for the rest of the day.
Hushpaw runs into
Tom in camp and apologises, only to have him smile and say that he doesn't mind. When Hushpaw moves to go around him,
Tom blocks her way, asking if she wouldn't mind talking to him for a bit. She agrees, after all, he
is handsome. The two apprentices talk for a while, and Hushpaw realises she enjoys his fur, his personality, his eyes, everything about him she thought was great. She had never smiled so much in her life. When she tells her
Mother about him that evening, her mother scolds Hushpaw, saying that apprentices should not be mooning over other cats the way Hushpaw was crushing on
Tom. Hushpaw gets angry and yells at her
Mother, saying "she can do what she wants" and her
Mother is "just jealous since dad died before she was born" and then storms out, going to her nest in the apprentice's den, steaming angry.
The next morning, Hushpaw is out hunting with
Mentor when
Warrior Two came up to them, explaining there was bad news and Hushpaw was to be returned to camp immediately.
Mentor and Hushpaw were escorted back, where Hushpaw's
Mother lay in the clearing, her body broken and mauled beyond repair. When
Warrior Two explains that a badger had killed her, Hushpaw ran to her dead
Mother, and starts to cry while cuddling against her
Mother's dead body, wishing she had had the chance to apologise for her behaviour the night before, and that she had had the chance to say I Love You to her one more time.
Friend and
Tom start to spend time with Hushpaw, and the three become great friends, but Hushpaw pays a lot more attention to
Tom than
Friend. When
Friend sees how much Hushpaw and
Tom seem to click,
Friend feels left out and jealous, and one morning confronts Hushpaw, demanding to know why she was always ignored so much. Hushpaw tries to apologise, saying she "didn't know", but
Friend just storms off, saying they were no longer friends.
Hushpaw becomes distant, angry, anxious and depressed. She only has
Tom left to confide to, and, if she was honest, she was quite lonely. She and
Tom tried to spend every free moment together, but it was hard to do so when
Tom has other friends to hang with sometimes, and especially at gatherings when he wants to mingle with others.
Hushpaw is close to her warrior ceremony, and doesn't realise that Softpaw has been thinking about Hushpaw and watching her.
Softpaw becomes a warrior, and receives the warrior name Softsong. Hushpaw cheers for her ex best friend along with the rest of the clan, but She feels a pang of regret tug at her heart strings when she sees how
happy Softsong seems to be, though that is far from the truth.
Softsong decides that she is gay, but she's afraid to admit it because she's so insecure and that others will judge her. So when
Tom Two asks Softsong to be his mate, she agrees, thinking that she could 'make do'. Yet as Softsong and
Tom Two spend time together,
Tom Two takes advantage of Softsong, and oftentimes leaves her crying and heartbroken. But she stays with him because she believes 'nobody else wants her'.
Hushpaw and
Tom become warriors, and Hushpaw is given the warrior name Hushflower. She doesn't hear Softsong's cheering in the crowds, and is just happy to become warriors with
Tom. He is still pretty much her only companion.
Hushflower notices what's going on with Softsong and
Tom Two, but doesn't help out or say anything because she still thinks Softsong hates her, even after so many moons.
Hushflower and
Tom are on a patrol at Seastones together one night and decide to sit side by side on the stones and stargaze. When
Tom says to Hushflower that he loves her, Hushflower is so happy and declares she loves him back. They become mates that night, and the two are seemingly happy lovers.
One afternoon, Hushflower runs into Softsong while out hunting by herself, and seeing how much Softsong is suffering, Hushflower has a long talk with her, and they become friends again.
About a moon later, Hushflower finds out she is expecting
Tom's kits, and excitedly tells him while they're sharing tongues that evening. However,
Tom immediately gets to his paws and steps away, telling that he "didn't want to be a father to 'her' kits" and "especially if they're 'deaf' like her" before running off into the warrior's den. This breaks Hushflower's heart to pieces, and she wails loudly that she couldn't "take it anymore" and rashes out of camp into the territory, hiding underneath a bush, crying. She didn't realise Softsong had followed her, and Softsong finds Hushflower a sobbing, broken mess. Softsong silently wraps herself around the smaller warrior, comforting her in a way that wouldn't have worked if any other cat had done it. Hushflower eventually stops crying, and realises how much Softsong really cares. She also realises she
loves Softsong, and Softsong was the cat Hushflower wanted to spend her life with. She confesses her love, and Softsong says she loves her back, truly and honestly loves her. When Hushflower sadly says there's no father for her kits, Softsong says she will raise the kits with her, so that the babies will still have two parents. She also says it'll be their way of getting back at the toms that had ruined their lives.
Hushflower moves into the nursery, with Softsong visiting her every day to check up on her and see how she was doing. After a moon, three kits are born, and Hushflower and Softsong are extremely happy. However, two of the kits die minutes after birth, leaving only one, a sickly runt of a
Kit who looks just
Tom. Hushflower and Softsong cry together, mourning the loss of the other two kits, while cuddling
Kit. They name him and vow to protect and care for him with the ferocity of lions until their last breaths.
