Since Ashfeather has become a warrior at this point, I was going to look for a mate for her.
I would imagine that this cat would be friendly to her and then Ashfeather would ask if the cat would be her mate, and he'd say yes.
Maybe they'd have some kits together, but that'll be for later, so I won't call for kits now. She and her mate will have some kits and they will raise them, but after the kits become apprentices, her mate feels as though he doesn't want to be with her anymore because he wishes that there was a cat who was more normal and wasn't as deformed, especially because of the way one of the kits came out, and he gets worried about reputation and stuff.
Here is the plot in more detail.
Ashfeather is sitting by herself in the WindClan clearing, feeling sad. [Mate] comes to her and asks her what's wrong, and then the two strike up a conversation. After this, maybe the two could go on some sort of hunting thingie together and during this, Ashfeather will ask if they can be mates, and [Mate] says yes. Time passes and she reveals that she is expecting kits, and although he's happy, he's nervous, but she's naive and doesn't see it. Then stuff happens as follows, some rumors are whispered about the kits, and pressure piles on [Mate], so he leaves her.
First-come, first-serve. If I reject you, then I'll go to the next person if they apply.
Ashfeather is straight, and since they'll be having kits, this will be WindClan toms only.
