Tough Love

Hello ~! Iiii am setting up a plot for one of my mains, Stormtalon (link in my signature.) His younger brother Brightpaw is going to pass away in a tragic accident / encounter with a predator in RC territory, and after this, Storm will likely be a mess. It doesn't help that he's quite dim when it comes to dealing with emotions in a healthy way. I'm predicting he won't take kindly to others trying to comfort or be sympathetic (unless they have a specific relationship beforehand), and this event will mark the beginning of a vicious downward spiral.

At a certain point (not for a while but coming up), I'd like someone to step in & be like no. I'm looking for a RC cat who is:

1) someone Storm would respect
2) confident / able to handle themselves / not afraid to be brutal
3) probably someone who has gone through a comparable loss

to confront Stormtalon with what he needs to hear at the time. Storm will most likely be antagonistic toward them (so watch out), but the words will stick & help him move forward in the end. He may or may not circle back later to give them an awkward apology.

Note: this will be one conversation set up in a future private thread - not an ongoing thing, unless otherwise plotted. (: Short & sweet.

Hey Red, I’m pretty interested in this plot and I think it could help out with one of my characters’ developments too. I understand you’re familiar with Jackdaw—well, he’s not always logical but he is quite confident and he doesn’t have parents so you can draw your own conclusion as far as loss is concerned there—it’d be interesting if they talked sometimes after JD leaves RC…Storm could be one of the things that teaches him the truth about his heart and motivates him to come back to RC. JD is not a great cat but as he gets to know Storm he will not be happy to see this cat who really has his stuff together break down and will make sure to point it out to him, albeit a little harshly. But I think they have the potential to be really great friends after JD turns around a little bit. I suppose it depends on whether or not you would still like Storm and JD to talk while he’s an outsider and if you think he’s an adequate fit for your plot here

I would love to humbly offer up Bumble to step in and help out Storm. He might not be as up front and brutal but as you and Storm know, he knows how it feels to lose a sibling. He wouldn't want Storm to ruin himself and might give him a bit of tough love
