A Flying Fish (Private)
~kai- @ Leafí~
They raised their hesd, seeing the wind rustle the trees. They spresd their lsrge cream, black, and brown wings, catching a leaf as it floated down, their eyes examining the fragile item of nature. The chains and crystals strung over their outfit jingled slightly as the wind blew. They were wesring a turtleneck tanktop, pure black, and longer pants, along with a belt, holding a lot of her items. Their items contained of chain, coming from her belt and choker, along with shoulders and wrists, some crystals, hanging off of the chains, two engraved daggers, bith on oposite sides of her bekt, and a few vials of potions on their belt. She had a few different potions, each of which for different reasons. They had to leave their girlfriend, and this was all they brought

Re: A Flying Fish (Private)

Hazy vision slowly drifting along the wooded scenery, Trevor stood upright and absently inspected the dense foliage.
The soft breeze carried a horde of mouthwatering scents his way, and the gangly humanoid couldn't help but crave for the very thing that kept him alive.
Flesh.
It didn't matter what type, just so long as it was once a living creature... and preferably if it was fresh. As much as he didn't want to harm others... he-he had to... if he didn't, he would die. And death scarred him more than anything.
Now that the thoughts of food had been remembered, a knawing ache began to chew at his stomach. First starting off as a dull pain, then it eventually turned to sharp knife-like stabs that pierced his gut. A small whimper escaped his mouth as the pain set in once more. This was far too familiar, it seemed no matter how much he engorged, nothing satisfied him for long. So, this meant others had to sacrifice themselves as a whole for his benefit....
Shaking the troubles away, he began to sniff at the air; looking for the closest thing that would do for a meal. Something ahead of him caught his interest. He couldn't decipher what the scent was, but he was sure whatever it was was edible. Slowly approaching the location, the tall figure slipped from tree to tree, staying hidden in the shadows. After a few moments of quiet stalking, Trevor saw the being up ahead. Pausing in his tracks, he crouched behind some of the undergrowth. Yellow eyes peering from the skull mask, he kneaded his bony knuckles over his chest. It's.. It's alright... you can do this. He mentally reassured himself while the angular hands drifted down to the knife on his belt. Clutching the hilt, he pulled the serrated blade from its sheath with a quiet rasp.
Now he just had to wait for the right time...

The slight breeze ruffled the extra feathers scattered around the harpy's body, mainly the feathery mane on their neck. They smiled gently, lifting a small item, an instrument box , to be specific. They loved instruments, that was for positive.
This was their flute. A wooden flute, not their regular solver and brass flutes. They had carved it by hand, by guidance of their best friend, who had recently passed with an unknown cause. Supposedly. She was a mermaid. A gold and green one, and a courtier for queen airia. The harpy knew her death was still being mourned by many. But they couldnt seem to hold on that long. They knew she was happier now. Hopefully the siren's curse didnt get go her...
Nevermind that. The harpy sighed, raising the flute to their lips, before playing. A small tune, but one well known by forest dwellers. The song of the fae. Their mother, Darleen, had taught them. It ran in their blood, apparently... They sighed, giving a small smile as they continued to play, spreading their large wings and raising their head, not noticing the man behind them as they flicking their ear.

The gaunt pair of eyes remained on the other creature as she seemed to miss his presence. Seeing that this was a perfect time to take the upper hand, Trevor slowly rose into a hunched standing position. He made an attempt to quietly step from his hidden spot, only to halt in mid action. The scrawny creature tipped his antlered head as the being standing before him began to play a melody.
Curiosity temporally replaced the sick feeling of hunger that clawed at his gut.
The tune seemed to bring some sort of peace upon his senses. He couldn't explain how or why, but he would at least attempt to escape the world momentarily. Slipping subtly back into to bushes, he returned to a crouch and continued to observe the scene that was unfolding. The haunting sound was familiar, yet he couldn't find the proper name. Which didn't matter in the moment, he was just here to delay what had to be done... What a pity.
After rocking on the heels of his bare, disfigured, feet, the humanoid couldn't ignore the growing hunger any longer. It was just so much at this point.
Once more getting to his feet, Trevore began to close the distance between them; knife tightly clenched in his left hand. The eagerness of finally getting to eat something overtook him as his whole body seemed to shake violently. After a few more silent, yet jerky strides, he lunged forward at an inhuman speed; attempting to bowl her over and end this all-in-one swift motion.

The harpy took a deep breath, finishing the tune they had started, glancing into a tree for another. Strange. Usually, flame had come by now, unless... They whipped around, setting a hand on the dagger around their waist. Something was... Off. Flame never came when there was danger. And they could have sworn they had heard... something while they were playing. They heard the strange steps, and was almost knocked over, attempting to leap out of the way, before one of their wings got stuck. damn it... was the only thing they could think. Flame wasnt there. She had left them to fend for themself. They attempted to pull their wing in, ripping a few of the tan and white feathers out, a small, eagle-like screech escaping from their beak-like mouth.
