The Goal is Met || OWLPAW FINAL ASSESSMENT

Finally. The life was lived, the training trained, and after what had been AGES she was taking her assessment. She was ready. Owlpaw bounded over to Jumper. YEAAH!! She knew she had this. Aubs was nice and healed up proper by now, of course! The assessment date had been set (at least, mentally) and she was more eager than ever to get this party started. "Jumper!" She called in a friendly chirrup. He was still quite larger than her, but Owlpaw wasn't small. She was nearly back to her full weight, not to mention taller and more muscular than when she had first returned. She had seemed gaunt then. Meager. Not anymore.
" 'M ready. F'r m' assessment." She mewed with a separate statement of clarification. It was the midmorning by now, and the weather was fair enough. She felt oddly melancholy. Finally, after being through death itself, she was here. Ready to achieve part of her dream: warriorhood. Yet despite the weird feeling, there was still the energetic, eager glint in the huntress's eye as she raised and lowered her self on her tiptoes for a moment, the flex a measurable attempt to keep from skipping out of camp.

Re: The Goal is Met || OWLPAW FINAL ASSESSMENT
@Blaaze - Owlpaw
The tom was in the middle of burying some bones from leftover prey when the ginger she-cat appeared. He glances at Owlpaw and narrows his eyes at the enthusiastic greeting.
"Owlbait," he greets in a lackluster growl. She looked healthier, with more pep in her step. He was glad she was doing better. He twitches his ears at the mention of her assessment. Oh, yeah, totally forgot she was ready for that. He wondered if he was getting old; it only felt like recently he had taken the hyperactive furball under his paw. Now she was grown and ready for her assessment, well, not full-grown, she still had some growing to do. Leechscar had gained his height quickly, but it had taken a few seasons before he filled out fully.
"Yesssss, you're no longer my problem." Leechscar teased with a small smirk. He flickered her bent ear with his tail tip before jerking his head and leading her out of camp. Despite his taunts, a forlorn sensation rooted around in his chest. Against his better judgment, he had bonded with the ginger bounceball. She wasn't going anywhere, but once she earned her name, he wondered how much he'd see of her unless they were on duty together or something. The idea of her drifting away bugged him more than he was willing to admit.
Perhaps he'd put his mother's advice to use and see if Owlbait was interested in being some form of his family. He's been thinking about adopting Cottontail too, Hopefully, it will put this anxiety at ease. But first things first, focus on her assessment.
Leechscar didn't take her far from camp; the further away from camp, the more traps they found. Leechscar had Owlpaw wait behind him as he scooped out the air, searching for any signs of twolege active or shine silver reflecting off the sun. It looked clear to him. "You know you're the first apprentice I've ever held an assessment for. None of my other apprentices got as far as you, besides Cottontail and Silverrose." He admitted almost smugly. What an honor for Owlbait.
"So, the first part of your assessment is hunting. Don't leave this area. I haven't checked the others for trouble, but catch as much prey as you can. I'll be keeping an eye on your process while you hunt." Thanks to twolegs apprentices taking their assessment at this time were put at a disadvantage with hunting. But she was an apprentice he trained, so now it was time to see how well this owl flew.

Aubs, already giddy with excitement and quivering with determination, wrinkled her nose playfully at her mentor. "Nope! 'll still come t' bother you n' keep y' company." Owlpaw declared eagerly, skipping along out of camp diagonally behind the gray tomcat. So much had happened since her first apprentice ceremony. It felt like ages ago. Her eyes glinted in the sunlight, but the expression painted across her face was whimsical to a certain degree behind her excitement. First apprentice to hold assessment for? Oh yeah!! Instantly cool. "Yeah!! 'course, no way I could disappoint." The ginger mottled felt a faint stab of envy for a moment. She hadn't approved the new apprentice Rainpaw yet. An interrogation to wait for another day, she decided. Hunting. She could do that. "Sneezin' season!" She declared. "Got this." And at the small statement and a quick nod she was off stalking through the grasses.
She recalled her training for hunting and her smack in the face from a rabbit. To her own surprise she found herself wandering toward where she'd first gotten lost, ears pricked like satellites as she moved silently toward a soft rustling she could hear over the gentle breeze. A rabbit, how poetic. After a brief pause, she flexed her muscles and darted out from her cover. The rabbit shrilly squealed in alarm, beginning to dash off across the moor. Owlpaw was little more than a flash of ginger speeding off after it despite the sudden small jab in her gut. Pressing on, she made a risky leap for the rodent and bowled it over with lucky precision, chomping down on its neck swiftly to kill the catch. It was large, luckily, and her claws had only barely been able to make the risky move of grasping its hindquarters and yanking herself forwards. Shaking out her fur, she paused, wondering if the plump creature was satisfactory. It was certainly large. She wasn't sure where Jumper had gone, so Aubs attempted to scent him but her carelessness was caught in an atrocious sneeze. "Stars, dang it." Was the small, amused chirp that spat from her maw with a hint of disdain. Okay, maybe more prey? Sure. Plucking her catch from the ground and into her mouth the apprentice marched off, senses alert just in case Leechscar decided to show himself for a spar. Her nose tickled once more for another sneeze, which she was able to hold back with some effort (and a silly face). Okay, she had this... onward and yonward!
