Backstory
Sandsmoke’s mother, Rainbranch, died at kitting because of blood loss. Sandkit and [REDACTED], his littermate brother, were both viewed as unlucky. Things got worse when Aspenpaw died due to starvation one cold leaf-bare, and Sandpaw distanced himself from his family. He identified as asexual, never wanting to have kits since he might lose his mate due to kitting.
