rushwater was growing sick of seeing apprentices idle and bored in camp. not just that- warriors, too, with nothing better to do. he had nothing against the occasional break, but such stagnation wasn't good for one's mind. so, he took it upon himself to arrange something for both ranks to enjoy.

a mock battle.

rushwater chuckled, pleased with the idea as he circled the clearing once, then raised his voice:

"if you fancy a mock-battle, gather up! i'll be choosing captains and co-captains shortly. if you aren't here by the time we head out to the territory to battle, you'll be left behind. of course, you're free to catch up and join a team if you arrive late, but try not to miss the action."

how it's played:

• each team goes to their respective end of the area. the captain and co-captain choose a 'camp' to center around, and the whole team decides the strategy to take.
• the teams must push the other team back until either all captains are out or 2/3rds of a team are out. then, the wins/losses will be totaled and a winner will be announced via a 'camp capture' post!
• battles are decided with a dice system, which goes as follows

  1-2 : critical fail, your cat is out and your team loses two points.
  3-18 : the player in battle with the highest roll wins a point for their team and the lower roll loses a point. neither players are considered out.
  19-20 : critical success! the opposing player is out and you win two points for your team.
  * NOTE: sneak/stealth attacks always have advantage. (roll twice, take the higher roll)
  
  

with that being said, please include the following information either in character or out of character when you send your roleplay starter: team, and if you want to potentially be picked for captain/co-captain.

if you are caught faking your dice rolls, you will be disqualified from the game.

Mock battle? Falconfeather's mouth twitch upright at his half-brother's call, eyes gleaming slightly. Hell yeah! He needed to brush up on his battle skills anyway, s as a medicine cat, he would get too rusty on his fighting. His you be clicked as he slipped snakes like out of the medicine den,.smelling strongly of burdock as he reached Rushwater, a grin on his face. "I'd ya don't mind, I'll join, haha." He needed the extra practice anyway, good time to key out some pent up angry and frustration too.

Sootpelt ran over, seemingly excited. Splashfur slowly made his way over with a small smile. This was sure to keep Sootpelt distracted so he could kitnap Charredkit and take him to William.

(Sootpelt: Red, potential Captain. Splashfur isn't getting involved, he's just waiting for the right moment to kitnap Charredkit and run back to a loner he's working with that happens to be targeting Charredkit.)

Silverpaw approached, hoping that a little bit of fun will cheer him up after Gingerstar's death.

"I wanna be the Blue Team's co-captian" he mewed, trying to get rid of the bored voice.
He really needed to be entertained a bit. This whole Gingerstar thing was making him sad, and that was irritating him.

The young cat didn't know if Rushwater will let him take this role, since he was just an apprentice.
At least I didn't ask him to be the captain he thought, snorting grumpy.

rushwater tried to stifle the slight distaste that bubbled in his chest as a familiar voice- falconfeather’s -caught his ears as the first to join his battle, and to his side no less? he didn’t hate or even dislike his half-brother, no, but he’d harbored resentments to most of his blood-family. they were the chosen litter, they were preferred by their mother unlike he, whom- though he had not been shunned -was all but nothing to their shared parent. rushwater had done everything in his power to cut the knowledge of his shared blood from himself, and carve his way as his own cat, but he supposed nothing he could do would permit him escape from his lineage.
“glad to have you, falconfeather.”

a young apprentice that he recognized as silver paw approached, and declared he’d like to be rushwater’s co-captain. amused and a bit impressed by the audacity, rushwater hummed; “i’ll definitely consider it, silverpaw. tell me, are you any good at planning?”

rushwater felt the faint rush of excitement when nightspark joined the group, seeing as having a lionheart would prove this endeavor a bit more fun. sparring with other warriors would be a great opportunity to improve. “welcome to the fun, nightspark, would you be interested in leading the red team? your co-captain and strategy would be up to you.”

it was a good idea to chose a red-team captain that was about on the same level as himself since this game was so heavily swayed in favor of strategy over raw strength. while, if it came down to claw-to-claw, rushwater doubted his ability to overpower the tom, he could hopefully prove a good opponent in a battle of wits and war, provided he accepted the offer at least.

Seeing his half brother, Shatterpaw comes up to the Blue Team and he smiles at his half-brothers. "Mind if I join?" He asks, his voice kind of rough. He then smiles at the two of them again before looking around, just in case Frecklepaw decides to come. Unless he missed him...?
