Sagewater Ruins ((OPEN))

A deserted construction site home to weathered walls, sharp pavement and broken glass. It is long gone, blanketed away from the rest of the world next to an old creek.

Of the few cats that choose to stay here, the territory never ceases to be unfriendly. With the only source of food being bugs and roaches, Sagewater is more of a last-resort to even those used to living under bare-bone conditions.

There are rumors regarding the creek that surveys around Sagewater’s main buildings, or remnants of them. Many advise against swimming or drinking the water, citing vaguely of the side-effects that come with doing so.

O’Leary wandered through the reaching walls, craning his neck all the way to even see half of them. With a gruntled sigh, he bounded over to the stairwell, seeing if it was fit to sleep in. The tom set a paw gently on the arching stairs, stepping back in fear as the bricks that lined its way quickly crumbled and toppled over. “Foxdung!” He’d hiss, quickly turning tail the other way.

O'leary grunted as he'd hear incoming footsteps. The gruff tom pivoted around from his spot near the turned-over bricks, curious as to see the source of the noise.

From the corners of his eyes he'd glimpse a sleek grayish tom, his gait swift and appearance presumably rouge. O'leary gritted his teeth, holding in his breath sharply. It was rare for cats to come here. Afterall, he wasn't quite sure why he was here himself. Praying the stranger had no intent of harm, he slithered further past the devastated lands in search of the cat who he had heard so scarcely.

Slate's ears perked and dark gold eyes shifted, his silent pawsteps moving with ease as he darted through the shadows, following the cat at a distance, his pawsteps as silent as the grave as his long legs slunk further.

The towering to suddenly appeared infront of the other cat, golden eyes gleaming.

"Who are you? Why were you spying on me?"

O'Leary blinked. This was no place for the solitary - less so what he thought to be the tom towering over him. Opening his maw, the haggard tom spoke up.

"I mean no harm," his throaty voice barked, echoing through the ruin. O'Leary circled back into the dust, his flat paws tracing through lines of rubble. Standing up slowly, he looked on further.

"-'n I ain't no stalker, either. It's just that it's not everyday I see cats winding up 'round here." He paused, licking his chops.

O'leary coughed, starting again. "Name's O'leary. Ay've been here long 'nuff. Long 'nuff to know that those who dare cross here got 'sum kinda twisted reason." He held back no words, seeing as the old tom had nothing to hide from. He looked back.
