Redsurge stuck her head into the apprentices' den. ''Speckledpaw! Up 'n at 'em. It's time for trainin'.''

Speckledpaw gulped, nodding a he shakily padded out of the apprentice den, olive green eyes turning to Redsurge.

"S-sorry.."

''Don't be,'' Redsurge responded kindly. ''I was just tryin' ta get ya up. I'm taking ya out for your tour of the territory today,'' she touched her nose to his head. ''But just keep in mind that ya won't be seein' Sedgewater Valley---RiverClan's border with WindClan---today since Owlstar hasn't reopened it yet.''

Speckledpaw nodded, his confidence boosted, mostly due to Redsurge's patience. Besides, A cat like Redsurge? There was no way Speckledpaw wouldn't be able to achieve becoming a lionheart with her training! They nodded and puffed out their chest, smiling. "Alright!"

Redsurge gave her apprentice a nod approval. '''m glad ta see that you're willin' to learn. Willin'ness is part of what makes a good warrior, 'n by willin'ness, I mean the willin'ness to take on duties and listen to ya Clanmates.''

The russet-and-white braided tabby led the way out of camp, glancing over her shoulder to be sure that the calico tom was following her. ''This is RiverClan's general territory, where most herbs are collected 'n where most of the huntin' happens,'' Redsurge explained, her feathery tail swaying behind her. ''The reason most of the huntin' the Clan does happens here is because of all of our water sources---the river, 'n all the streams 'n creeks---are located here. Small ponds 'n even puddles. Of course, we have Lionsbeach, too, as a water source.''

Redsurge led the way deeper into the territory, stopping at the edge of the forest where the snow-covered floor met a large expanse of sand and a tide washing up on its shore. ''This here is Lionsbeach. While it isn't known for prey, we can always find some seagulls 'n crabs to take back to camp, 'n even fish that are washed upon shore by the tide if the seagulls 'n pelicans don't get to 'em first,'' the warrior chirped, fixing her heterochromatic blue-and-yellow gaze on Speckledpaw. ''Somethin' Lionsbeach is known for, however, are its infamous sunsets. Some cats---like myself---like to watch them. I'll bring ya out here wit' me one evenin' so you can watch one wit' me. How does that sound, Speckledpaw?''

Speckledpaw's eyes sparked with excitement at this, they nodded avidly, beaming a they crouched, suddenly breaking off in a sprint across the sand, laughing excitedly, he slowed down a he came across a crab, tilting his head at the large crustacean.

Speckledpaw snapped out at the crab, his paws smacking the crab at jut the right angle to flip it over before he bit te crab, successfully killing it, with a bit of a pinch to his poor paw. The wiry apprentice turned around, beaming at Redsurge fo the successful, extremely lucky, catch.

Redsurge's eyes shone with pride. ''Excellent catch, Speckledpaw!'' She purred, nuzzling his head with her maw. ''Bury it nearby and we'll come back for it later, alright? Oh, and make sure to give thanks to StarClan for its life. It died to feed us.''

Speckledpaw's eyes shown proudly, and he grabbed the crab, digging a deeper hole and placing the crab inside, once again covering the crab, adjusting it so they remembered right where the crab would be.

"thank you starclan for this crabs life and helping me provide for the clan-" he murmured solemnly before blinking at Redsurge, beaming.

''Seagrass Fields, the Clan's burial grounds,'' Redsurge responded with a flick of her ear that wasn't folded. She glanced at Speckledpaw through her heterochromatic blue-and-yellow gaze. ''If you're not aware as to what a burial grounds is, let me enlighten you. A burial grounds is where the dead are laid to rest. Many are buried at Seagrass Fields, including Stormstar and other cats who have fallen in the past many moons.''

Not far from RiverClan's camp lies Seagrass Fields, where fallen Clanmates rest. The land slopes down into what appears to be a seemingly endless sea of tall, soft grass that comes to life and rolls with every breeze. With soil that is mostly damp from the abundance of low, it makes for the perfect spot to bury those who have passed.

Cutting through the sea of grass eventually reveals a stretch of land that sits before a shallow pond. It rests near the edge of cliffs that overlook the sea and the waves that crash below. The pond is often eerily still, with the water only coming up as high as the average cat's shoulders.

A shroud of mist coats the ground nearly all times of the day, often snaking around the steps that cats take within the area. Though it never rises above belly-height, it makes hunting in the area nearly impossible as it provides too much coverage for prey, and the pond yields no fish. It is, however, an abundant spot for herb collecting due to its soil and provided shade from trees that tower at the edge of the clearing.

As they entered Seagrass Fields, Redsurge stopped just a few fox-lengths into the landmark. ''You smell that sharp, tangy scent?'' She meowed to her apprentice. ''That's herbs. Berryshine sends a lot of patrols here due to the abundance of them. If you have anyone that you would like to visit, do it now.'' She instructed before heading over to a grave and lowering her head. Beneath the mound of grass and dirt was Redsurge's mother, Skyblossom.
