How could things have gone this horribly wrong? The pale ginger tabby she-cat sighed heavily. She was far from ThunderClan territory, lost. Living out here, alone, was much harder than she anticipated, but the queen had no choice. Too many of her children had gone missing from ThunderClan as of late, and she had her suspicions as to where they went. Wherever they were, it was her responsibility as their mother to find them. Yes, she felt guilty for leaving some of her litter behind in ThunderClan...but as far as she knew they'd be safe. They would be surrounded by clanmates who would look after them, train them, raise them, they'd have friends. The kits who were out here? Not so much.
But being on her own completely was...much more challenging than she anticipated. Strawberryfur - did she even have a right to go by that name anymore? - was tired. Hunting was generally not an issue, but sleeping was. Out here in the wilds, she didn't have the protection of a clan when she slept, or even a partner to trade watch times with. She had to stand guard and sleep all on her own, which was draining. And that impacted her ability to hunt.
I'll need to try and get some rest today at some point... At the very least, she could sleep in trees. At night that was too cold, but she'd been able to snag some naps here and there throughout the day. Still...
No cat would recognize me at this point...not even Sunny. She doubted if even
Silvs would recognize her. Her fur was a mess, and she'd lost a good amount of weight. Her darker ginger ears perked at a sound that made her dry mouth water. A trickling sound...
Water! Strawberryfur bounded forward, delighted to find a calm stream. Relieved, she bent down to take a drink. Maybe she could make camp here for a day or two? Having a water source nearby was pretty challenging out here.
