Re: RiverClan Clearing
Beetlekit:
The bicoloured tom ran out of the elders den, he squeaked, in joy his eyes closed and mouth open. What he didn't know was that he beelined for the freshkill pile.
He bumped into it with a 'Oof' sound, a plump minnow fell on his face, causing him to panic, what was attacking him? He squeaked in terror struggling to get his tiny body out from the minnow, but falling the minnow was stronger them him.
"Help!" He yowled, struggling some more, he was getting crushed by a minnow and it sucked.

As Frostkit tumbled out of the nursery, they quickly noticed Beetlekit, struggling near the fresh-kill pile. Was he fighting... a minnow?
Suppressing a meow of laughter, they padded over, looking down at him with thinly veiled amusement. “Need some help?” Frostkit hooked their claws in, before dragging the fish off of him.

Judging by her view on Snowleap’s judgement, she probably did mean it.
As she headed towards the exit, the molly paused to think. What if something bad happened today? Swooped up by an albatross? Some hypothetical type of murderous fish? Death by some sharp driftwood? Her imagination spiraled out into phobias, anxieties and worries as she stood, creating hypothetical scenes in her head. However, it was only after she stood for an earflick too long she shook her head and kept on walking. She thought it was stupid how she did this all the time. What if, what if, what if?
Although it truly was a silly practice, she still did it. It’s not like she can just stop a habit on the spot, these things took time after all. But Raccoonear didn’t want to wait. Her spiraling, worrying mind got in the way of her living in the moment, and she was getting tired of it and the questions it stirred up from others. Treading through the forest, she glanced at any reflective surface they came across to reassure herself Snowleap was still there.
|
With a kind-hearted smile resting upon his face, Snowleap nodded to Raccoonear and the two of them started walking towards the Riverclan camp’s entrance. He had a little spring in his step, excited to go to Lionsbeach again after so many days passed since his last visit there. It was a simple silly pleasure of his, but the tall warrior allowed himself this happiness after being so harsh on himself. He breathed in the cold, leafbare air, feeling the chill course through his lungs and further his adrenaline for the hunt ahead. Snowleap could already feel his paws digging into the soft, wet sand as he would race across the beach towards awaiting seagulls.
Glancing at the molly who had paused beside the young tomcat, he couldn’t help but wonder what she was thinking. Truth be told, when compared to the other clanmates he spent time with, Raccoonear was rather unique in her own way. Snowleap enjoyed being around her and having the she-cat as a close friend, even if they had only met recently. They seemed to connect when it came to their distinct personalities and struggles, which made the Riverclan tomcat trust her more than his other friends. It was weird, maybe, but it made a lot of sense in Snowleap’s mind. He tended to get attached to others pretty quickly when they clicked with his odd behavior. That was how it had been when he had met Lynxfall many, many moons ago, but he cared not to think about the loyal Shadowclan tomcat. Once they began heading out again, Snowleap followed without hesitation, his tail swishing silently behind him as he walked.
As they headed through the forest in utter silence, the dark-furred warrior kept his eyes on the path ahead of him, hoping that the molly would not think he was being a minnow-brain and staring at her strangely. He recognized the anxious, silent posture she displayed (since he did it himself quite often), but maybe he was just overthinking it. Maybe Raccoonear just liked being quiet and not talking a whole lot. This was the second time the two of them had been alone together, after all. He shook his head and focused on the task ahead of them. Hunting. Yes. That was what needed to be done. Snowleap needed to stop getting distracted.

Re: RiverClan Clearing
♢ Snowleap ♢ ( Reedlight @Ritsuka )
“I wonder if it’ll snow more anytime soon…” The tall warrior murmured under his breath as he tore into a small vole, “Maybe it’s a good thing that it’s not snowing too much lately though…” Snowleap was simply muttering to himself as he laid in his usual spot on the side of Riverclan’s camp, enjoying a piece of prey alone as he wondered what to do next. It was late in the day, but the young warrior didn’t feel like going to sleep now. He was hardly tired and wanted to maybe go on a walk or hunt at least one more time before retiring to the warrior’s den for the night. Taking another bite of his vole, Snowleap looked around at his clanmates, seeing some heading off to their den and some simply grooming themselves. It was quite peaceful with not too much noise to disturb anyone. The sky above the camp was clouded, but there was no sign of snow or rain tonight. Such a calm end to a day reminded him of the time he’d met Raccoonear. Though that night was not calm at all for him at that moment. He shook his head, however, knowing it wasn't worth getting distracted over. He needed to finish eating and then move.

Reedlight sighed to himself, stretching as he exited the warriors' den, buried in his thoughts as he walked out. He was still in shock over a few things: he had been accepted back into the clan after his betrayal and exile with open arms, and he was now a warrior... Which he honestly thought he would never get to do. Honestly, it was pretty confusing, but he didn't argue: as weird as it was, he needed to get used to it. But still, sometimes, he still felt like an outsider.
Speaking of outside, Reedlight looked around, eyes gazing up at the dark sky, which still had some light. He was bored, so maybe he could go hunting? Or maybe visit his old den? Hmmm... But it would probably be a bad idea to go alone, especially with stray coyotes that might appear. So the dark tom looked around, blue eyes scanning the clearing.
"Anyone willing to join me on a hunt?" He called, looking around slowly.

Vinewatcher lay watching everyone in the clan go about there day as she was caught in thought. I can't believe I'm expecting kits! I'm not ready for this! the silver tabby thought worriedly as lay her head on her paws.

♢ Snowleap ♢
His ears twitching towards the sound of another warrior, Snowleap turned his head to rest his gaze onto Reedlight. He didn’t know this warrior personally, knowing nothing about him other than his name, but the tall tomcat was always open to make new friends and help another clanmate hunt before it got too dark. “I’ll go with you,” He meowed, his voice loud enough to reach the other tomcat, “I was just about to go out on one last hunting trip myself.” Snowleap stretched out his front paws, getting up from where he was laid down, before padding across the clearing towards Reedlight. He could feel the cold air brush through his long fur as he walked, making the tomcat shiver a little, but it didn’t keep him from focusing on the task ahead. Maybe he could catch something for Brittleshore and visit the elder sometime tomorrow.

Reedlight offered an energetic grin, blue eyes gleaming brightly before nodding. Good! Someone was willing to hunt with him. He only recognized him from Clan meetings: Snowleap, if he remembered quickly. The dark gray tabby don't exactly know him, but he seemed nice enough. So he tilted his head towards the older warrior curiously. "Alright then. Which way should we go to hunt?"

♢ Snowleap ♢
Approaching the dark-grey warrior, Snowleap smiled warmly at Reedlight as the tall tomcat paused beside him. “Hmm…” He thought about where the two of them should hunt today, “Maybe we should try the thicket? The dense trees probably sheltered the forest floor from the snow.” He had hunted with Raccoonear along Lionsbeach earlier today, making the young tomcat desire a different place to hunt. They could go to Firefly Cove or even try Cattail Pond, but the Sleepy Thicket seemed like a prime choice given the weather these days, even if the area tended to be rather… creepy. It would be a risk going there so late at nightfall, however, so he asked: "Unless you have a certain place you'd rather try instead?"

Reedlight shook his head. "I really don't mind which place we go," he answered. He never had a particular favorite place to hunt, so any place was fine with him. So long as he could warm up with some exercise, he didn't have much of a complaint. "Then let's head to Sleepy Thicket!"
(Want me to post a starter there?)
