As soon as Ashpaw heard the meeting call, he padded torward the Thunderwillow where his leader sat. He suddendly noticed how excited his friend looked, so he sat beside her and leaned closer: hey, Flamepaw! Is this something about you? his whiskers twitched.

Tufted ear flicking at the noise, the large tom blearily blinked the sleep from his eyes. What was all the ruckus? Rising slowly from his nest, Moosecrash watched as clanmate after clanmate left the warrior's den. Finally the words he had heard registered in his mind. Cinderstar had called a meeting. Giving his chest fur a couple quick licks, the Maine Coon made his way out of the den and took a seat off to the side of the crowd.

Looking up from where she had been sat grooming herself, Emberpaw watched as her mentor and leader padded up to the Thunderwillow and leapt onto the branch that she always sat on for meetings. Sure enough, the orange apprentice heard the familiar words ring out from Cinderstar. Giving herself a last lick, Emberpaw made her way to the foot of the Thunderwillow and took a seat.

The day had been too warm for the black cat to go out a start hunting again, so he had even more reason to sit in the shadows along the camp wall. But there seemed to be something happening, and one of his black ears twitched a little and angeled towards Cinderstar as he saw her get up on the Thunderwillow, preparing for a clan meeting. For a few moments, the dark tom remained still, asking himself if he really had the energy to go over there and just sit there with a bunch of loud cats when he could hear perfectly fine from here? Well, the answer in fact was no, but he supposed it was polite to at least pretend.

So with a jawn and stretch, he stood up and left his shadows, and moved towards the crowd. But he chose to circle them somewhat and sat down at the back edge instead. Out of sight and out of mind of more cats he hoped. His hearing was good anyway, so getting the news wouldn't be a problem.

Flamepaw looked over at Ashpaw as he came up to her to sit down and gave her friend a small smile. She leaned over to talk so she wasn’t interrupting the meeting, her eyes still on Cinderstar.

“I dunno,” she whispered back. “I might be getting a new mentor since Rushfire disappeared… but I’m excited because I like to hear about what’s going on.”

Darkpetal walked toward Cinderstar, curious to find out what she had to say.

I'm sorry to hear that.. looks like the apprentices have recently had a hard time with their training. I wonder who it'll be, then. He lashed his tail impatiently, then spotted his own mentor a few paces away. Hi, Darkpetal!

Darkpetal noticed his apprentice greeting him and smile cheerfully. “Hello Ashpaw!” He smiled,”How are you getting along with the other apprentices?”

“Eh, it’s alright…” she smiled, though she couldn’t help but cast a saddened glance at Ashpaw. “Rushfire was a good mentor, well… up until she left. All I care about is becoming a good warrior for ThunderClan.”

She looked away from the tom and sighed quietly. Will I become a warrior late…? I managed to be apprenticed on time, but with mentors constantly disappearing and other things going on, it seems like I’ll have to wait for forever! I may be almost eleven moons, but still… the older apprentice shook her head. What was she thinking? She was going to get a new mentor this meeting, that was for sure! She just didn’t know if they were going to train her well.

Ashpaw was happy to see his mentor so pleased to see him. Fine! I have already known many clanmates, and training with them is very fun! I'm getting to learn to swim with Flamepaw and Harefire has also taught me some basics tree climbing.

He turned to Flamepaw again. She cast him a sad glance, and he wondered what she was thinking about. You know what? Maybe we can train together in our free time. It would be fun, and I'd also like to do some more other than with my mentor. @SpiritedWarrior

Darkpetal pretended to get offended. But he knew that keeping his apprentice all to himself would be stupid. “It’s good to see you socialising with your clanmates, Ashpaw,” he purred softly.
