Roosterflame was a little startled by Sparrowflight’s reaction, but he understood why she would be not-too-happy with him, he did disappear without any warning for a while, and that wasn’t good at all.
“I wouldn’t have left if I could help it, Sparrowflight. Honest. You wouldn’t believe how hard I fought to stay here,” He sat down and shook out his neck fur, letting the bell fall ringing to the ground and roll to a stop at Sparrowflight’s paws,
“That,” He said, pointing at the trinket, “Was from the collar that was forced on me by some horrible twoleg couple. It was pink! A rancid pink. I was just going for a walk when some twolegs came walking through the forest! They chased me for a full fifteen minutes before they grabbed me and took me, kicking and scratching, to the back of their monster. They took me away in that beast, and I’ve only just found ThunderClan again. I promise I won’t leave again if I can help it,” He explained the whole ordeal with a bit of a sob in his throat, “Please, let me come back.”

Well, it certainly seemed like the kits were enthused enough… Crocus looked a touch confused, but that was to be expected when entering into a new situation. Clearing her throat, Sparrowstar glanced down to the aforementioned cats with a small grin. This would be an important day in their lives and she was proud to be the one to initiate it.

"Crowkit [ @SpiritedWarrior ] and Hazelkit [ @NinjaBloss ], you have reached 6 moons of age and as you both know that marks the beginning of your days as apprentices in Thunderclan. From this day forwards, until you receive your warrior names you will be known as Rainpaw and Hazelpaw."

“Bumbleflight [ @Ritsuka ], you have proven yourself to be an attentive and loyal warrior. I believe you are ready to take on an apprentice. Rainpaw will be yours to train, and I am certain you will pass on all you know.”

“Rainhound [ @marina ] while your first apprentice has disappeared, I am certain you will give Hazelpaw no such reason to run off. Train them hard, and train them well. I look forward to seeing your efforts rewarded.”

Giving each of the newly appointed apprentices and their mentors a nod of encouragement, the tan molly turned to the former kittypet.

"Crocus [ @neptune ]. While you are a new face to this clan, I look forward to seeing what kind of warrior you will grow to be. Learn the ways of this clan, and I'm sure you'll do great things. From this day forth until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Crocuspaw. Mudsplash [ @friendlyghostz ], I expect you to train him thoroughly and pass on everything you've learned during your own time in Thunderclan. And remove his collar. There will be no more need for reminders of his past as he grows into one of Thunderclan's own."

Now onto the reassignments. Several of Thunderclan’s apprentices needed new mentors to continue their training if they were to ever join the ranks of warriors in this clan.

“Several of our apprentices require new mentors, and I will make this brief as there are a fair number of you.

Thunderpaw [ @Courage ] your training will be continued by Lakestorm [ @Lakestorm ]

Finchpaw [ @Catrina ] Goldleaf [ @Gay'Fluff ] will be your new mentor

Lavendermask [ @QueenOtter ] I expect you to train Ravenpaw [ @Starfall ] thoroughly as you return to warrior duties.

Acornpaw [ @lucidense ] will be trained by Leafnight [ @Apollo. ]

Sparkflower [ @moonyy ] I expect you to finish up Flamepaw’s [ @SpiritedWarrior ] training

Dawnpaw [ @Wintersun ] you will continue your training with Softshadow [ @Kunaiskrill ]

Wisteriapaw [ @QueenOtter ], Cloudspots [ @Cherry~ ] will be your new mentor

Stormwind [ @Fenixwolf ], you will be finishing Stormpaw’s [ @~SilverShine~ ] training.

And finally, Sharppaw [ @Firebender ] you will continue your training with Russetflare [ @forest ]”

Huffing a sigh as she reached the end of her list, Sparrowstar allowed the apprentice a moment to meet their new mentors. Paws crossed these one's would stick around long enough for them to become warriors. Thunderclan had several apprentices that were more than ready for their ceremonies and only needed their assessments completed, but a quick glance towards the distraught Emberpaw below her stayed her tongue. If there was no progress before the next meeting with her and Softpaw then she’d address it, but for now she would let the young cat grieve before finishing up her announcements.

Petalbee called out each of the apprentices names. Proud that the clan gained so many new apprentices. She then got up and stretched out her limbs ready to go on with the day as normal.

Crocus- Crocus...paw...? stares up at Sparrowflight- star in unconcealed bewilderment. And then he looks back at that cat who had been rude to him, Mud...splash. "U-um..." The tom didn't want to argue so soon after being given this new "mentor," but why this cat?!

He stares at Mudsplash, remaining very still.

Bumbleflight had been watching from the sidelines as the apprentices walked up, and he cheered their names with a smile, knowing how important such a ceremony was to young kits. As Sparrowstar went on to name their mentors, however, Bumbleflight's eyes widened in disbelief and a twinge of excitement. He was going to be a mentor? Really?! Wow... Well, he'd do his best, even if he was an amateur at being an actual mentor.

Weaving through the crowd, the dark brown and cream tabby went over and sat down in front of his new apprentice, Rainpaw. His shredded ear twitched and he offered his apprentice a small smile, doing his best to contain his own excitement.

"Nice to meet you, Rainpaw. I'll be handling your training, and I promise we'll get you to become a warrior to the best of my abilities," he said. "Think you can keep up?"

Cloudspots blinked in surprise as Sparrowstar called his name. He was to be a mentor? What I’m StarClan’s name had he done to deserve that honor? He generally kept to himself, without making a fuss- in a positive or negative sense. He wasn’t the bravest, or the strongest, or the most skilled.

Nonetheless, he knew he had to do right by this young cat. Wisteriapaw’s mentor had abandoned their duties; Cloudspots felt a duty to make that up. Even though he wasn’t responsible for this mentor’s neglect, he felt a pang of anger on this apprentice’s behalf. What sort of cat abandoned an apprentice?

Shaking away his anxiety and surprise, he made his way over to his new apprentice. He bent down to touch noses with them.

Oriolepaw happily chanted the new apprentices’ names. He was going to have new denmates! His tiny claws worked the ground in excitement, the grass tearing under his claws. He hoped they’d become fast friends!

He felt a strike of sympathy for the apprentices getting reassigned to new mentors. Oriolepaw was incredibly grateful that he had an attentive mentor. He highly doubted that Larkstorm would ever neglect her duties as a mentor. She was a great, loyal ThunderClan warrior.

Quailfur couldn't believe that her own kit would become an apprentice. Time seemed to be so short that Crowkit had to leave the nursery already.Has it been 6 moons already? Her ears swiveled with uncertainty and nervousness. She clawed her way into the ground, her heart quickened with loud beats. Hearing the call of Crowkits name, her ears pricked. Her muscles were tense, Crowkits name was changed to Rainpaw. She didn't mind it though, a wide smile appeared on her face. She almost felt like crying out of joy, slanted eyes with built up tears that reflected in her green eyes. She jumped out of her seat standing up.

Her eyes sparkled as she looked towards Thrushfur with glee."Cr- No Rainpaw became an apprentice! I can't control my legs at all..!" Her mood was switched immediately overcoming the deaths of those cats previously. Her tail flapped around as she high-stepped wanting to run over to her kit and congratulate him. But calmed herself down, she felt like her heart was going to burst out of her chest at any moment. The silver tabby sat down giving her shoulder a few quick licks. Her eyes were set on Rainpaw with softness in her eyes. She would after the meeting was finished.
