Fernwillow:

Fernwillow nosed around in her nest, sure she felt a thorn. The closer she got to her due date the more sensitive she got. “Found anything yet?”

Moonpaw:

“Nothing yet but are you absolutely sure that you felt a thorn?” The silver she-cat said. Moonpaw was beginning to get tired of Fernwillow’s constant requests for help with nothing real. She would rather spend her time with Pumpkinpaw.

Fernwillow dismissed Moonpaw who looked happy to be leaving and had hints of a blush on her cheeks. Fernwillow wished Blazingkit or Stormclaw would come by or any of her friends to cure her loneliness.

Just outside the nursery, a hulking she-cat was busying herself with something strange. Her shadow loomed just over the entrance of the den thanks to the sun-high light, but she seemed more interested in forming the mass of bracken and moss she had gathered around camp into something almost-resembling a nest. What was she doing...? Whatever it was, the determined look that flashed across her face meant it was something important to her.

Galekit was hunting a beast. A big grey one with lots of scars. He was watching it through the entrance of the nursery, hidden just behind some bracken. He watched the big grey beast create a nest-lookin thing, but it didn' look like the one Mama made for him and Stormkit, and Songkit, he guessed. He kind of ignored his constantly disappearing sister. He crept out quietly, placing one paw in front of the other, exactly like he had seen the other apprentices do it. His eyes were wide as he stared, unblinking, before leaping upon the beast.

"No one hates you because you have a bit of fur missing, the only thing people could dislike about you is that attitude!" Dunestorm teased lightly, but his words made sense, "If somecat likes you it should be for your personality."
