Grousewing sat in the clearing studying his big paws. The more he stared at them, the more he began wondering if they were too big for his otherwise slender body. Oh well. He thought, trying to brush off something that he would surely be self-conscious about now that it had drawn his attention. There’s nothing to be done about it. He felt that he was being somewhat silly, though he hardly had control over his insecurities. Who thinks about their paws this much in the first place?
Attempting to calm himself a bit, he lifted his forearm and brought it close to his mouth, dragging his tongue across his ginger fur. As he groomed to soothe himself, Grousewing looked at the cats that gathered in the clearing through narrowed yellow eyes, curious to see what everyone else was up to. He was a little too invested in everyone else’s business. At his young age, having only reached the age of twelve moons recently, he had not yet learned that it was best not to concern himself much with the issues of others.
Cloudyrain blinked at the sky, flicking its tail in boredom. It wanted to talk to others, but at the same time the thought of doing so drained the energy out of Cloudyrain. Instead the cat continued to stare at the sky, slowing passing the time.
“Oh yeah? Why don’t you try!” Vinetail crouched down, ready to spring up once the moss ball came towards her.
Dewkit's tail twitched with excitement. "Okay!" They replied, tossing the ball into the air, aiming for the space in between Vinetail's ears. @~'Ace of Spades'~ @Starlily

A swarm of nerves itched at her paws, “Okay” she said

|25 Moons|
As the tom landed from his back peddle his eyes followed Floatingleafs lithe and graceful form as she brought a paw down on Cloverpaw's shoulder. The strike unbalanced the small white would be warrior who gave a startled mew, but he was quick to recover. Beetleblaze watched carefully as his apprentice launched a strike at her chest going for her center mass. As soon as he moved to go on the offensive the tall tan warrior sprung into action, trying to take advantage of their two on 1 predicament. Time seemed to compress as his instincts told Beetleblaze Floatingleaf wasn't merely avoiding Cloverpaw's attack by moving to the side. Moments after, the tom had to dig his claws hard into the dirt to avoid colliding with his partner as she leapt over his apprentice landing in front of Beetleblaze.
He watched as she swept his young wards feet from under him. That was close. He thought rapidly as he breathed a sigh of relief that the two warriors had not interfered with one another. His green eyes twitched slightly as Beetleblaze endured some empathy for his apprentice. Floatingleaf had seemingly gotten a bit over excited and gone above what the training session called for. He felt momentarily better when she acknowledged her over eager nature, but Cloverpaw did not appear to accept her apology. As his mentor the tan tom felt compelled to diffuse the situation, before any more hurtful words were said.
He looked down at his apprentices dirtied white pelt speaking firmly, but not devoid of sympathy. "I understand why you are upset, but in battle the situation may change at a moments notice. It is important to deal with new problems calmly, so let it go. Exposure to bad, or unfair fights means you will be all the more ready to face one in actual combat and control your emotions." Beetleblaze wanted to reach out and lick the dirt from his coat, but he knew the gesture probably wouldn't be well received. More likely such an act would simply be seen as insulting to his pride. The tom would never purposefully humiliate him in such a way if he could help it.
He looked back at Floatingleaf who seemed to have already moved on and was calling out to Flickerpaw to see if she was ready for her turn. Once the nervous confirmation left her lips Beetleblaze gave a nod to Cloverpaw hoping he understood, before heading over to his peers side and taking a stance. He readied himself for Flickerpaw's charge.

Flickerpaw inhaled and finally, after a minute, began charging at the warrior. Flickerpaw knew he could easily beat her but she had too soft of a hard to even risk hurting him. So, as she was charging she tried to make sure she would not hurt him
Arrow nodded, his tail flicking back and forth. "My name is Arrow. And I only had my momma, but a fox got her.." the kit seems to sag with sadness.

Arrow, a strange name, but no stranger than some of the names she's heard elsewhere. How unfortunate to hear that he lost his mother, still, he was lucky that Ashclaw found him when he did. The leader's single eye slid over to the warrior as he spoke to the kit. If only Ashclaw was as attentive with his paw as he was with kits. "I'm very sorry to hear that, Arrow, I'm sure your mother was a brave soul." She said softly and then shifted the topic. "If you'd like, you can stay here in my clan. Otherwise, my warriors will have to drop you off at a twoleg place to see if a kittypet or twoleg will take in."
[If he's staying he'll need a clan name, Arrow is not a prefix that Twi will accept].

There was never a snug position and someone was always moving. So experiencing Twilightstar's massively warm and soft body was nothing short of a dream. Her cooing voice oozed like honey through Nettlekit's ears, earning the leader a cheeky, innocent, kitten smile.
"I had to escape the crickets!" Nettlekit explained, fear wiping the previous grin off her face. Were they still out there? She braved a peek toward the entrance, hoping one didn't follow her inside. Her sensitive ears could hear the distant chirps if she listened hard enough...but she came to the conclusion that she was finally safe. Phew. "That was a close one." She whispered, scooting closer to Twilightstar.
The warmth had returned to her now, which stimulated a big yawn and biiiiiig stretch. The cream-and-white kitten snuggled closer into the leader's exposed belly fur, purring loud with each breath. She was thankful Mama Twilightstar was being so kind. Not every cat she met was this open to physical affections -- something Nettlekit had yet to comprehend why. "Thank you for saving me." She spoke through the yawn, "I wish I had a den all to myself. You're so lucky."
Escape crickets? The WindClan's leader's head slighted itself in curiosity trying to make sense of what was being told of her. Did she mean that she was literally being attacked by crickets(which was unheard of to her), or that the chirping noses that the insects made were annoying? Either or it might be a good idea to go and speak with the queens, whether there were crickets getting in the den or a nest of crickets nearby, no needed their sleep disturbed by loud critters.
Twilightstar plops her chin down on the kit's forehead briefly once she's cuddled in and cozy. She angled her single full ear towards the entrance of the den as Nettlekit glanced in the direction of the opening. She could hear the chirping, but the noise seemed rather faint to her. A big yawn escapes the little one's maw, returning the leader's attention to her with a bemused chuckle leaving her mouth. "You're welcome," Twilightstar told her in return, curling her tail a little tighter around the small body.
"Hmm, having a den to yourself isn't as fun as you imagine. It can be nice at first, especially in warmer seasons, but it gets lonely especially when you have to sleep every day by yourself. Plus, I get cold easily, when I had denmates there was always someone laying beside me close enough could share warmth with." Twilightstar purred softly, ducking her head to give the kit's forehead a few affectionate licks. "But enough about that, you should get to sleep, you'll wake up in a bad mood if you don't get enough rest."
Leaving the comfort of her den, the she-cat stepped outside and twitched her whiskers as a sharp gust of wind ruffled her fur causing all the warmth in her body to seep out. It made her want to return to her nest, curl into a ball, and sleep. She was tired, not quite physically or mentally, this exhaustion stemmed from the cold making her more lethargic than usual. She heaved out a sigh, shook out her pelt and fluffed it, and then made her way over to the Breezerock. The sky looked cloudy, Twilightstar faintly wondered if it was going to rain. The quicker she got through this meeting the quicker everyone could return to their dens. "Let all old enough to run the moor gather for a Clan meeting." The one-eyed leader called out as she took a seat on the Breezerock, as composed as ever despite the cold. There was much to discuss at this meeting, she'd hate having to cut it short if it started raining.

Dustbunny padded over to the prey, not quite out of hunger, and was slightly surprised to see that a few pieces of prey had spoiled, she decided to pick through it, grabbing the old prey to dispose of it.
