The big cats were having a meeting that Elkkit didn't care much about. It was boring and dramatic, and last time he went he'd gotten yelled at for harmless fun, so he didn't want to see any of their stinky faces anyway. Exploring was more fun!!
Two big cats happened to be in the den when he stuck his nose inside, and he bolted forward, ignoring their current conversation to try and bat at the white one. "HI!!" he exclaimed. "WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT?? IS IT SOMETHING FUN?? I HEARD BUMBLESTAR'S NAME!"
Moontail nearly jumped out of her fur, arching her back, spitting.
"WHO TAUGHT YOU MANNERS?!"

Sunglow couldn't help but purr as the little tomkit raced into the den.
Fixing a burning glare on Moontail, she gave her a warning look.
''Hi!'' She chuckled, giving a whisk of her tail.
The golden she-cat tilted her head. ''Well, well, well, if it isn't Elkkit! The bravest warrior in all of ThunderClan!'' She purred.
The warrior flicked Elkkit's ear tip gently with her tail tip. ''We we're just talking about how great of a leader Bumblestar is.''
Sunglow and Moontail both knew that what Sunglow had just stated was a complete lie, yet Elkkit didn't know that and he was most certainly too young to know.
Sunglow had kept her voice warm and kind - at least in front of the young tomkit.

She sat up, a little hurt. "I wasn't trying to scare it! Besides clans really didn't exist all the time. Is history such a cruel and terrifying thing?"
She swivelled her gaze back to the kit, expectant of a swift reply.

Elkkit flinched back at the white cat's outburst, fur puffing to twice its usual size as he flattened his ears. The golden cat was significantly nicer and he scuttled over to her side, eyeing Moontail warily from Sunglow's flank.
He sniffed and tilted his head to blink at Sunglow. "She let me get yelled at by Dad for having fun," he griped, the other's outburst having put him in a sour mood. "Seems grumpy."
As Moontail moved closer he inched back again, tail twitching back and forth. "Sounds sad. I'd miss Dad and Mom and my siblings."
