She spent most of the meeting near the back of the clearing, sat stiffly in a small patch of shade, her face expressionless as always. Nothing but the slight shuffle of her paws would give away her racing thoughts.

Bumblestep, the fox, a place in Thunderclan. After moons of quiet peace, Plum's life had been thrown into a tornado of chaos the past week. Here she sat in Thunderclan's camp, listening to the Thunderclan leader appoint Thunderclan highranks, then address the rest of Thunderclan about Thunderclan related business. In Thunderclan. Stars her head was spinning. She couldn't even remember accepting the tom's offer. She just... spawned here. In Thunderclan. Something told her she hadn't fully processed being a Thunderclan cat yet. Not until the final announcement.

Maplemouse. Her name is Maplemouse. Truthfully, she hadn't been expecting Spiderstar to grant her a brand-new name - let alone a warrior name. Had she earned such an honor? For putting her body between half eaten kits and the fox while the others did the work?

A kind voice broke the tortie from her thoughts. Plum... erm- Maplemouse blinked at the stocky she-cat. This was Pine... boom? Something like that. Spiderstar had just promoted her to hornet if her ears heard right. (Though Maplemouse still had no idea what exactly a hornet was.)

"Thank you." She responded quietly, dipping her head a bit lower than necessary. "I hope they heal swiftly. And um, congratulations on your promotion." The warrior left it at that, watching as Pineblossom padded over with the other hornets. Maplemouse had a lot to learn if she wanted to stay. Perhaps she could ask the older warrior could teach a few lessons later. For now, the tortie would familiarize herself with camp.

Joy, they were already being put to work. Mountaintalon snorted, stopped searching for Mothflame, and instead opened his jaws to bellow, "LAVENDERPAW! Meet me by the camp entrance later to discuss your training! We will start once I am finished here!" [ @Streamtail ]

Whether his apprentice heard him or not would only serve as a testament to how well they paid attention. With that taken care of, he turned back to Risingstorm. The tom's congratulations were only received with a dismissive flick of an ear. "Let's keep this brief. I have things that need doing."

That was a lot of names. Regardless, the new deputy chanted each name along with the clan. He supposed that there would be plenty of announcements but... damn, his chest was starting to ache. He refused to sit any less dignified, though. That would be an absolute tragedy, surely.

New hornets? Despite the urge to do so, Flintclaw's ear did not twitch when he heard Pineblossom's name. Well, for what it was worth, the annoying molly was loyal, determined, and absolutely willing to deal with conflict. Mountaintalon and Acornfall, too. Hardworking and well involved cats, as well. Pineblossom was the first to look at him, but he didn't think it was a smug look. He was not the best at reading expressions, though. He dipped his head lightly in acknowledgement and congratulations, then did the same for Mountaintalon and Acornfall.

And, newly approved outsiders for him to watch. They had apparently fought quite hard and earned a spot in Thunderclan. It was a good deed, certainly. Checked all the right boxes. He'd treat them just as he did the rest of them... But let them mess it up and he'd have no issues catching them slacking. His eyes turned to each of the new cats and he dipped his head to them. Except Roosterpaw. Not because he had something specifically against the new apprentice, but because the little 'paw was hiding their face, he really couldn't. Perhaps he'd pull the new little one into one of his training sessions...

So many apprentices...

Spiderthroat caught his attention and the dark tabby stood. He gave his new leader a respectful dip of his head and went through a mental list of names to get ready to start sending out patrols.

Yet another apprentice, assigned to her. Sensing Weepingpaw's shakiness and anxiety, Mothflame pressed her nose against his forehead with a soothing purr. She loved the Clan's little ones. It hurt to see a young cat so afraid.

"You'll do great, darlin', I'll make sure of it." She assured with a smile. Then, at the mentions of the new Hornets, Mothflame stood up from her place with a wide smile. She waved her tail at Acornfall, beaming.

"I knew it! I knew you could do it! You're awesome, Acornhead!" She yelled at her brother, ecstatic about his new position. And speaking of the newly appointed hornets... Her gaze snapped towards Mountaintalon, and her expression instantly warmed. "So are you." She added, unsure if he could hear her or not... But if he was able to read lips, he'd definitely know what she said, no?

Boulderspots sat and listened, shocked at how smoothly all this change was passing through the clan. Not one of the main high ranks was the same as a few moons ago, yet everyone seemed to be moving into their new jobs quickly and effectively!

Quillhowl? A strange name, but personally hes just call himself quill internally and what not, his gaze shifted to roosterpaw also a tad strange, but hes sure hed get used to it. Rooster was also assigned a mentor, thing who came up and got into roosters face immediately Back off he gave a small warning growl lowering his head over rooster a bit Dont get into roosters face, keep your boundary in check pup he said bluntly he wasnt out right being aggressive, but this was all still new and overwhelming to him and much more for rooster. He just didnt want rooster to be overwhelmed.

The warriors reassurances did little to nothing to soothe Weepingpaw. He gave the queen an appreciative nod, but still said nothing. He knew that she meant the best, but he just felt hollow. Empty. Fitting for his name, he supposed.

Unfortunately for Darkwater, he was in for a ride.

Roosterpaw had shifted their head out of Quill's fur only to see some rando's nose in their face. Already on edge, their first instinct was Defense - and when Darkwater leaned in, the chomp would come. If it did land, it wouldn't be anything serious - just a painful reminder to pay attention to body language.

They then would tuck back in beneath Quill for an added layer of protection, hissing softly.

well, two things have been noted for darkwater, 1, don't try and touch noses with a apprentice that wasn't used to clan life, it gets your nose bitten- 2, don't mess with someones kid who ALSO isn't from clan background. he wonders if spiderstar knew what he just dumped on darkwater, but worry not he will not be deterred! just a little hurt- "Ah- s-sorry" he backed off quickly "i-its just a- erm...clan thing...mentor and apprentice touch noses...but if- roosterpaw is uncomfortable I am so so sorry for overstepping that" he apologies, normally anyone else would probably snap back or punish the poor apprentice, but not darkwater...ehh-, he might have to talk to treetiger bout the noise thing tho...it stings-
