Spottedheart replied in a breathy tone. "Yes. You?" The calico she-cat looked towards her mate and saw her large gash. She sighed. "You need to see Surgestorm." She let Featherlight lean against her now-crimson calico pelt, until they reached the Medicine Den.

No. He simply stood there and let his apprentice weep, he let him let all of his emotions out, cry to his hearts content. He understood what Mudpaw was going trough, he could Empathize with him, and that's what made his heart ache, his soul quiver. An apprentice shouldn't go through such things, he shouldn't be feeling such raw emotions this soon. Most would argue that love was the best thing Starclan enabled them to do, he believed that, but at the same time, he also knew it was a curse. One was both warm as well as cold, and he didn't like the fact that his apprentice has already experienced the cold part of the warm emotion. The Tom wrapped his tail around the other and pulled him closer, trying his hardest to comfort the Tom, at this point the both of them were weeping. "Mudpaw, I am truly sorry, but I will say this. I am happy you're alive now, I'm glad that you're here with me, and I bet redpaw is too, I bet he's thinking the same thing. I bet he's happy that you've lived, that you're still breathing." he said, his voice wavered he didn't know what it was like to see your loves limp body, bleeding, lifeless, just a few mouse lengths away from you, and in all honesty he didn't want to imagine his beloved dead. He tightly shut his eyes and pulled the apprentice as close as possible, and hugged him as tightly as possible without hurting him, he wanted to believe that he could just squeeze the negative emotions out of his apprentice.

When Mudpaw pulled back Sleepingcloud was still teary, a few streaks fell down his cheeks, his sky blue hues were glossy and filled with joy and amusement, he needed that, they both needed that. Upon the apprentices apology he laughed loudly, his booming laughter echoed within the training moor, he didn't care for the way he looked, he cared for the way he felt, for the way others felt "That's quite alright I don't mind none." he purred, he had already grown attached the the younger Tom, almost as though he believed he was his son, his and Juniperlights son, and he liked that idea, he liked that idea a lot. He looked down at his chest fur and chuckled "Believe you me, I've gotten much, much worse sticking to my fur." he laughed, his whiskers quivered as he thought of an idea "And besides, we could always go and romp in the stream later on." he stated as he suppressed a shiver, it was almost the end of Leaf-bare, which meant that the streams were thawing, but they were sill freezing cold, and he didn't really like that idea whatsoever. He saw his apprentice look down at his paws and he heard him apologize, he blinked and looked at the younger Tom for a few moments before picking himself up, padding over there, and licking the mottled brown toms forehead "Bah, it's alright, we're not worrying about my problems at the moment, we're trying to solve yours." he purred. He then backed up and grinned "Like your fighting problem, let me show you some solutions. Attack me with all you've got" he stated, yeah he knew that they just got over bawling their eyes out, but he cared for Mudpaws future, he wanted to make sure Redpaw didn't give up his life in vain. He was pretty positive that his apprentices love didn't want to see him again in the stars, that's not what mates wish for. No, he'd make sure Mudpaw survives any future battles, but that may also be because of his own selfish reasons.

It was going to take time to heal. It was going to take time to not think about him,to not think of his dead body laying in the middle of camp last night. The leader had offered him to take a break from training,he was offered a time to mourn and he refused it-he wanted to stay busy. He didn't want to cry,he didn't want to seem weak. He didn't like how he was letting it affect his training with Sleepingcloud. He greatly appreciated the warrior though,and would keep his words in mind. He didn't have a lot of family,his brother and sister off doing starclan knows what and not talking to him anymore. He was on his own,no parents or even a parental figure to look up to. He felt lonely,but he felt different when with Sleepingcloud. It felt,,,safe. He knew that because even of the simplest joke about his pelt he cracked a small small as he sniffled a bit. "I don't think I want to know whats in your pelt,or how cold the river is." he gave a quiet chuckle. He appreciated his mentors efforts to cheer him up,and it was slightly working. It was a distraction,to say the least which is what he needed. His ears perked when his mentor said 'fight me with all you got' he'd give him all he's got. For Redpaw. His exterior changed,his ears were perked and his eyes were blown out in concentration now. He wanted to stop crying,and start working. His claws would be sheathed of course,and he wouldn't use his teeth. He jumped up so he was infront of his mentor,yellow hues glaring at him. He jumped to the left side of him but only for a brief moment in order to confuse him,jumping to his right side quickly after,and turning his body to try to aim a blow with his paw on his mentors rib.

When she was done inhaling her breath to where it was steady again, the young she-cat picked up her prize, and she trotted away, flicking at her mentor to follow. ''Let's go then! I'm hungry!'' She shouts back at him, her words mumbled.

Fawnskip trotted through the entrance to the camp, her tail swinging behind her with every bouncy step. Her uniquely-colored pelt gleamed brightly under the sharp sunlight, as did her golden hues. The darker and lighter flecks within her eyes danced, further displaying her beauty - the beauty she was completely knowledgeable of. An air of confidence surrounded the small molly which was noticeable by anyone who so much as looked at her. Her pawsteps were light and near silent, if it weren't for the dull layer of white snow that crunched below her. She held her head high, yet another sign of confidence, but her ears swiveled and her whiskers twitched in an alert manner. Between her jaws, held firmly yet carefully, was a gaunt rabbit. It was incredibly small and bony, but prey was scarce in leaf-bare, and she was lucky enough to of caught what she did.

Dispensing her puny catch on the near-empty fresh-kill pile, Fawnskip cast a surveying look around the camp. Light blankets of white snow layered the earth, and the harsh winds of both the cold season and WindClan's bare territory had the power to chill her to the bone. Her thin, short pelt stood no chance against such a cold, and to keep warm, she often raced across the moors where she'd keep an eye out for prey or even intruders. Deciding she deserved a nice rest, Fawnskip made her way half-way to the warriors den where she collapsed with a long sigh, figuring she would relax right where she lay.

She was sprawled out, her torso stretched, and her legs spread before her. One of her forelegs, however, were what she leaned against to help support her weight. This left her lying down, but her upper body was raised. Her tail lied horizontally to her body, the tip frequently twitching with content. Her whiskers and ears would twitch with the breeze that disturbed her sensitive features, and her eyes were narrowed against the cruel winds. Her flank gently rose and fell with each quiet breath, and her short fur was forced to dance alongside the wind.

Fawnskip was a complicated feline. Her mind worked in mysterious ways, much too erratic for the simple mind of the innocent. Sure, she was very loyal to WindClan and risk her life for her clanmates, but she also thought about herself. Whenever WindClan is in a serious situation, then expect her to stand up for the clan and protect it. Otherwise... don't expect anything. When the whole of WindClan isn't involved, she is a completely different cat. It's in her nature to protect herself, especially her heart. Her heart was her most sensitive feature, and she'd defend it with her life. She understood the world could be cruel, and so she adjusted to it, becoming unpredictable in the process. Fawnskip was whoever she wanted to be.
Blazingstar was giving his lean build a luxurious stretch. His forepaws stretched towards, lowering his upper body, causing his extremely long claws to flex. They were pearly with due to the lack of dirt running across them, the snow seemed to keep them clean. While his upper body lowered, his lower body was held in the air, his long tail curled up over his back until he could no longer stretch. What was left of his muscles rippled beneath his pelt. His fiery pelt was just clinging to his frame. Although because his pelt was long and thick, it was hard to see that.

Leaf-bare was harder than normal this year. The fires swept through and ruined half their hunting grounds leaving little to no prey left for the clan. Everyone was suffering. Some more than others. The queens, kits, and elders were well-taken care of as the leader had high respect and protectiveness for them. Finishing his stretch, he stood up to his average height. He was overall just an average feline. Nothing too special besides his built, obviously more for speed than anything else. His golden hues flashed in the sunshine. New-leaf is right around the corner... he reminded himself as he gazed upwards at the sky. He could sense the new season coming around, now if only these cold fronts would stop.

As his gaze lowered, he was left facing away from the leader's den and towards the warriors. Just a few tail-lengths away, he spotted an unfamiliar pelt. Odd It was a pretty she-cat, but he assumed she knew that. Blazingstar knew most of the clan so the whole idea that he didn't know who she was, concerned him. It was now his goal to know who she was. So with that, the leader padded swiftly across the clearing. His pawsteps were light, although made a soft thudding sound on the snow. His long, fluffy tail swished behind him, and a small smile ran across his lips. In all, he looked overly-friendly.

Stopping about a tail-length from the she-cat, he gave her a small dip of his head, clearly showing a greeting. "I'm afraid we haven't met," he came right out and said it. The ginger tom was known to having little to no shame and being open like this was nothing new for him. "I'm Blazingstar, although I hope you know that," he chuckled, but paused. "Who might you be? I don't think I've gotten to knowing your name or seen you around much," he spoke, his brow raising. He knew Shrikecall was responsible for assigning patrols and all that, but Blazingstar didn't think it was all that fair and most times, he personally chose to get to know his clan. What is a clan without trust, after all?

It wouldn't live for much longer, and hopefully no one would be hurt by it if it ran into another cat. He was thankful Heathertail hadn't been hurt-- and glad he had been there, like she had said before, no one had been hurt and they had both been there. Hopefully everything would continue to go alright. The tom looked back at the she cat as she spoke, a thoughtful expression coming over his features for a moment.

"Sounds good to me. Then we can head back-- it probably won't be too much longer." He mewed, glancing around to see if there were any other cats watching. His protectiveness over the she cat, though he didn't really give it another thought, had been embarrassing-- and right now, he was thinking about it quite a bit. She was a fully grown warrior, not much younger then him...and he was quite a few moons into his senior ones. So why had he felt the need to protect her? He couldn't recall an urge like that before. Then again, he'd never really had the need to be urged to protect before. To protect and to defend; those were the strongest forces in his life at the moment. He glanced over at the she cat again, motioning for her to follow, but keeping his pace slow enough so that she could walk beside him if she wished. He had liked the earlier contact...it had been a nice way, in his opinion, to show him if she cared.
Heathertail nodded, glad that he had decided to come along with her instead of heading first back to camp. She had wanted his company during this whole expedition through WindClan's territory, however that dream had been deterred. She watched him start off the path again, but held back for a moment. In her brain her thoughts were flying around at a million miles an hour. Something felt odd, like the air shared between her and the deputy had... changed. Is something on his mind with the Clan? she wondered, her facial features scrunching up as she thought about the subject. It worried her that there might be something bothering the tom, but she decided not to dwell on it for too long. Realizing that she was getting left behind, the light brown warrior quickened her pace to fall in step beside the deputy. She absentmindedly let her fur brush slightly against his as they walked, deciding to remain silent as they made their way to the rest of the ThunderClan border.

Everything else seemed at ease along the rest of the border. She hadn't said much to her companion on their walk, although there were a lot of things she did want to say. "So what's it like being deputy?" she asked, internally wincing at the fact that she had spent all that time thinking, and the only question she could come up with was the same question he had probably been asked about a hundred times already. After a moment, she laughed a little, shaking her head. "Sorry, you probably have heard that at least a hundred times since you were appointed the position," she mewed, casting a sideways glance at Shrikecall. For a moment, she seemed to get lost staring at his face, and could feel her ears grow hot so she quickly snapped her head back around. "What I meant was, I guess, how different is it...?" she tried her question again, but still thought it fell short question-wise. She brushed it off though as she waited for his response, the heat traveling from her ears to the back of her neck now as she padded on.

He nodded and padded after her, bending down to grab his prey on the way. As he followed, he breathed in the scents of the territory, of the breeze and the prey and the gorse and the grass. The earth and the sky. He sighed. I wouldn't want to be any Clan else than Windclan, he thought.

Tawnypaw's life was never a constant. Around her, everything seemed to be changing, from the time she was born to the deaths of almost her entire family, save for some nieces, nephews, and spare relatives she barely ever knew about in the first place. She didn't have many friends, but was overly protective of the few she had, like they were her own siblings. Really, these friends were some of the only good things to come out of her time in WindClan- especially Moonpaw. In fact, the two were on a walk together right now. Tawnypaw's dappled fur, which was already speckled with white, was dotted with snowflakes, and the chilly breezes of leaf-bare had yet to calm down. "This looks amazing." She breathed, eyes widened as she looked around at the snow-covered moors and the rolling fields, looking over towards her friend in a sudden rush of glee. "This is when I'm really glad to have been born here, and not some marshy ol' swamp like ShadowClan." {sorry for the short starter! ;u;} @Lilly

@Turtlestrike

Lakepaw trotted into camp with her jaws heavy from a plump game. She gingerly sat it down on top of the food pile, and instead grabbed a squirrel. Though she caught a hare, she didn't feel like eating hare at the moment. After grabbing the small squirrel, she searched around for a clear spot to eat. She hadn't been able to make any friends because of her nervous and anxious state. Besides that, she was far too concern with her warrior training that she hadn't been able to make other friends. With her ears flattened, she trotted to a small corner of an open field and sat down on her haunches, staring at her meal. She waited for her mentor to see what else they were to do today. While she waited for him, she laid down with the squirrel between her paws and she begin snatching the meat into her mouth, savoring the taste.

It wasn't often that he cleaned, but the den was already a bit crisper looking without dust hanging around on the floor. He took a deep breath in and sneezed, waiting a moment for the dust to settle from the air.
Then, the tom went to the patients nest and tidied them up, taking the ruined moss and tossing it on a pile to take out later. As he did this, he quietly began to hum a tune that both apprentices would know well by now. His mother used to hum it to him as a kitten, and now he would hum it under his breath whenever he was doing any busy work in the den. Both Leopardpaw and Moonpaw would have heard it close to a hundred or more times by now, and it was always the same familiar tune. Occasionally, he'd put a twist on the song, but usually it was just plain and simple like now.
The medicine cat took a moment and listened as Leopardpaw listed the herbs, nodding his head when Moonpaw said that she was correct. However, he snapped to full attention at her question, just now remembering that he had a story to tell. "Oh yeah, that's right," The tom hurried back to their sides, a lopsided smile on his face. "You won't believe your ears, when I tell you, but you gotta be sure not to tell anyone where I found them. I could probably get in a lot of trouble." He tried his best to look serious, but it was hard to do when he could barely stand not to smile for more than a minute or two.
{ @Lilly }
Leopardpaw smiled at her friend as she said that she was correct, and she smiled, looking down at the pile before Surgestorm scuffled to their side. She smiled as she listened to him, and purred as he tried to look serious but his eyes showed his excitement. "Sure, Surge." she replied and perked her ears forward, listening intently. She loved this, whenever something like this happened. She looked down at Moonpaw, noticing she was equally intrigued as she was which made her feel better about her slight pushy look as she wanted to know so bad. But what if he stole it from other clan territories? Attacked other medicine cats? No, Surge is nothing but a softy! she thought, and smiled as she waited his response.

Finally able to get out and not have to worry about trying to impress her hard to please mentor Winterwisp, Moonpaw felt at east strolling through the territory. All around her were icy white hills, sparkling from the weak leaf-bare sun that still hung behind the overcast clouds. It was definitely a more bearable leaf-bare day, as it wasn't too chilly out; in fact, it was actually starting to warm up. Though snow still covered the ground, the young WindClan apprentice could sense change on the breeze. "It must not be too much longer until newleaf," she replied, glancing to her side where one of her close friends Tawnypaw walked beside her. She had fallen out of touch with the apprentice; the two had been close during their kithood days, but since the busy rush of warrior apprentice duties, she hadn't much time to see her. When she wasn't out training, she was in her uncle's den, either telling him about her day, or listening to him sort through his herb stack. It felt nice to be around the fellow WindClan apprentice; she had always liked her as a friend.
Turning her attention to the rolling hills that stretched before her paws, Moonpaw parted her jaws to scent the air. The tingles of frozen icy danced around her nose and she took a deep breath, indulging in the wintery smell. It sent shivers down her spine and fluffed her fur up, and a smile graced her soft features. "It's so nice to be out here without any nagging mentors," she laughed, voicing her earlier thoughts. The she-cat arched her rump in the air as she leaned forward, giving herself a good stretch before rising back to her paws and giving her fur a good shake. Her limbs ached to run and play in the snow, but Moonpaw restrained herself. She wasn't about to go rushing off without checking if the coast was clear, and leaving Tawnypaw behind. She swung her head to the side and smiled at her friend, blue eyes glimmering in the bright gray light that shone down from the sky. "What do you wanna do now that we're out and free?" she inquired, knowing that her friend might have more creative ideas than she would; she was boring, a simple walk in the snow and maybe a snowball fight somewhere safe was her idea of a fun outing, but Tawnypaw, she knew, had a more devious mind. And Moonpaw, for some odd reason, felt intrigued by what possible ideas her friend could come up with.
