Re: RiverClan Clearing
@ Panic
Lucky exited the medicine den for her daily walk, feeling her shoulder as she made her way into the clearing. It had been a moon since she had been rescued by Daypaw and her shoulder was nearly completely healed. Soon now. Soon it'll be completely healed and then Halestar says I'll be paired with a warrior for training! The little black shecat, felt shivers of excitement creeping under her pelt at the thought. She was going to learn to be a real clan cat, have a new name, and learn to fight for her friends in Shadowclan. She came to a sunny spot in the clearing and stood looking up at the light, taking in the beauty of the morning at the clearing bustled with Shadowclan and Riverclan cats carrying on with their day.

She hadn't exactly been fond of Shadowclan since he last close encounters with them, and this definetky wasn't helping.
Last time she had been close to a Shadowclan cat was the last time it flooded. Last time it flooded, she had run into one of the sweetest, most charming, toms of the time. She had fallen in love. She had broken the rules. She had done the biggest thing that she was told not to do all her life. She found love outside her clan. She had found Littlefang of Shadowclan, and even to this day she could remember the times she spent buried in his warm brown fur. She had loved him, he had loved her. They seemed the perfect match.
But on the way back with her kits Littlefang's apprentice had brutally murdered one of her kit. This she had never forgotten, and she even remembered the spot she buried Mottledkit in. She remembered it, and it often haunted her memories. The day was bittersweet, but it had taken a turn for the worse. Luckily for her she had come back to find a true friend, one that seemed not to care about her past mistakes, only her beauty and possibility for the future.
Colby quickly became her one and only. He had been such a good friend, he had supported her with her biological kits and adopted kits. He stayed with her through her darkest valleys and highest mountains. He had been with her when she found out via Starclan that one of her sons had died in the liberation battles. Graypaw had died honorably, but that didn't stop guilt. But now here they were, and Sunbreeze feared seeing either Twigleg or Littlefang, and she couldn't see Colby anywhere if they did show up. Colby knew everything, Sunbreeze had told him her life story a long time ago. But now she had started anew. New mate, new beginning, new love, new best friend. Now if only she could make it through this without bringing up the past.

"...Alright. Though, you need to play more nicely next time- it didn't seem like that apprentice was enjoying your little game too much, you know." The leader instructed rather wearily, his blue eyes faded with stress as he nodded towards the apprentice, beginning to pad away out into the camp. Please tell me most of these cats are getting along- I can't have my clanmates and the ShadowClan cats staying here getting into arguments all of the time, right?

Lobsterpaw's cheeks burned he tried to ignore it," Well...The fish brained little eight moon old Shadowclanner asked what kind of games Riverclan played and where we played, and I simply was showing him." He meowed hoping Russetstar wouldn't be suspicious that no apprentice hung near the kitpool.

She propped herself up with her paws until she was sitting up and glanced around the camp's clearing with vigilant blue-green eyes, her watchful gaze finally landing upon a black tom. She narrowed her eyes at the expression on his face. He seemed pretty hostile for being in his own camp, she noticed. Maybe it was because of all of the ShadowClan cats within the camp. Crescentpool doubted it, though; the tom's expression seemed like it was practiced, like he used it often.
The tall black she-cat considered asking the tom what was wrong, but decided against it. Crescentpool wasn't one to talk to those she didn't know well. She wasn't really one to talk at all except to her closest friends. Plus, this tom didn't seem friendly, and she didn't even know his name. That would make for an awkward conversation. Hey, I don't even know you, but why do you look like someone put ants in your nest? Just... no. That was not a conversation that Crescentpool was willing to have, much less start.
At the same time, she did want to know why the tom was acting the way he was. He looked to be an old apprentice, somewhere near Crescentpool's age. That made sense- Crescentpool herself had recently become a warrior. This tom was probably pretty close to becoming one himself. Honestly, though, from the unimpressed, hostile look on his face, Crescentpool was willing to guess that maybe that wasn't what he wanted, at least not as his number one choice on what to be in life. I wonder why, she mused. Again, she could always go ask him, but this she-cat was rather shy, so that wasn't an option. She'd have to find some other way to solve this new puzzle.
|
Light green eyes met Crescentpool's own blue ones and lingered there for a moment. The RiverClan apprentice watched her, as though he were studying a foreign object. And, he might as well have been - from the way he was acting. Observing her as though she didn't have a mind of her own. Oh, Shadepaw... sometimes he could come across as quite rude. Getting to his paws, the fluffy black tom made his way across the clearing. Why did it have to be so blasted hot in green-leaf? Why couldn't it be nice, cold weather... the type of weather that the tom preferred? "Mind if I join you?" He asked, his green eyes watching her with a pleasant expression. When Shadepaw wanted to be, he could be quite charming. When he was... manipulative, that was. His voice was naturally smooth and elegant, and he almost had that type of air around him that seemed to scream sophistication.
"You're Crescentpool, aren't you? I believe I remember you from your warrior ceremony. You were absolutely stunning." It wasn't awkward, somehow, to be complimenting the black warrior on her appearance. Flirting was a common occurance around the Clans, and while Shadepaw might not be considered a flirt, he was considered almost polite. Sophisticated. Charming, even. Yes, he might have the traits that made a flirt a flirt, but all in all? He wasn't one. Shadepaw watched Crescentpool for any reaction, his light green eyes friendly although he was struggling to keep them that way. Shy cats had never been a real target for him. And from what he could tell, Crescentpool seemed antisocial and shy. Though, perhaps she could serve as some use after all... maybe. If he were lucky, she could. Even if it was only for his own amusement, Shadepaw got the feeling that he and the black cat were going to get along just fine.
That was, while his act was kept up. A cruel, manipulative tom and a shy she cat... what better opening for the stereotypical "toxic" relationships? Yet, the tom knew how these things ended. They always ended with the girl and guy ending up together. Well, that wasn't going to happen to him. No sir, Shadepaw was a cat who was forever alone. He remained alone because it kept him above the others. A mate was like a partner. And at the moment? He wasn't looking for one.

Skunkbelly padded out of the warriors den, yawning. Good grief, I really need to sleep more... Then he spotted Lucky staring up into the light. Ah, this must be the kittypet I've been hearing about... "Lucky, right?" He padded up to her, mewing a greeting. "How are your injuries?" [i'm thinking lucky reveals that she's going to be an apprentice, and skunkbelly talks her into asking Halestar for him?]

Fallenleaf felt all her weight on top of him, causing him to fall onto his stomach. He let out a yowl of distress. When she got off and sat down in front of him he couldn't help but let out a loud chuckle. What in the world was that for? Was she playing. Yeah she was her claws were sheathed and there's no claw marks on me. "I don't know what that was. Were you playing or what?" Laughed Fallenleaf. He stopped laughing, flicking his tail around, accidently touching Willowheart's nose.

Lucky looked toward the voice she had heard and saw a cat walking toward her with black and white fur (I tried to brush up on SB's description, but the link isn't working. Sorry!). "I am," Lucky answered, surprised that the cat knew her name. She supposed word about her being in clan territory was bound to get around sooner or later. "They're doing much better," she answered, her voice alive with excitement. "It's only my shoulder that's bothering me now, and Daypaw says that will be fully healed any day now. And Halestar says once Daypaw declares me healed, I can start warrior training!" The little black shecat's tail was whipping around behind her as she spoke, excitement bubbling under her pelt like the river. "Thank you for asking," she added, her friendly gaze locked on the cat. Judgin by his smell, he was Shadowclan, which made him her future clanmate.
