Sorry I scared you - or startled you, or whatever!" That smile never faltered. Hawkfeather wasn't easily hurt, and she was all too eager to get to know the cat better. Everyone thought of the high ranks as superpowered cats. But the tabby wasn't interested in getting to know Bubblestep because she was the deputy, as a matter of fact, she didn't care at all. She was interested in getting to know her as a cat. Just herself. No title needed. "You know, I wouldn't be stressing out if I were you. It's not good for your mind, at all! If you get stressed out, you know what'll happen, right? It'll start destroying you from the inside out. And that wouldn't be good, because then everyone who likes you will be reallyreally sad!" How could someone so foolish sound so smart sometimes? It was true; Hawkfeather knew that stress would eventually destroy you. But the way she phrased it made it sound light and stupid, because that was how everyone viewed her... just a friendly, bubbly, excitable cat.
"That's..." Bubblestep blinked, staring at Hawkfeather "with all due respect Hawkfeather, I don't believe that for a heart beat." The short cat looked up at Hawkfeather with eyes filled with emotion. "You can't just stop being stressed out or stop stressing out. You only have so much control over things. Ever since I became deputy I've worked as much as I could to keep that title, and that takes a toll on cats. I can't just, plaster on a smile and just pretend that I'm happy so everyone around me will feel good. I'm not exactly happy right now. Our clan will soon be at the verge of starvation!" She lashed her tail. "Sometimes, you just can't be happy. You don't have the time. I'll be happy when I want to be, right now I just want to hunt." She sighed and walked past Hawkfeather.

She was his everything, she was what made him want to live, what made him hang on when things got rough. He knew she would always be there for him, as he would be for her. Stoneheart didn't know why his heart beat faster around her or why he felt so strongly for Crowsong, but he did, he loved every inch of her, every side of her, everything that made her, well, her. Each night as he fell asleep, he thought of her and dreamt of her, every time her woke up, she was the first thing on his mind.

"Would you rather hunt or just walk around?" The silver tom asked, moving close enough to Crowsong that he could feel her fur against his. This was something he looked forward to, being alone with his mate and telling her his deepest thoughts, things he would never tell anyone. In a way, she was like his therapist, calming him down, making him feel better. Crowsong had changed him, in such a way he could have never became on his own. He undoubtedly loved her.

The Molly couldn't help but feel sympathy for her friend. "I don't want you to feel awkward around me. I want to help you out. That's what friends do." she stated. He's my friend. No he's not my friend. He's my crush. I just wish he could see that.
The Siamese felt a rush of heat as Marigoldflower's nose almost touched his own, and for a second, he was about to lean fowards and make the contact. But then he stopped and shook his head inwardly, hovering there for a moment, eyes gazing into her own and almost searching for an answer before he pulled away. Froststing knew better. It was dangerous to get so close, he might have actually touched his nose to hers and then where would they be? Not friends, that was where. It would make her uncomfortable. It would make him uncomfortable. And Froststing wanted to remain friends with the attractive feline, not scare her away through being... well... weird. His optics flashed with annoyance, but he didn't dare voice it aloud. "I'll be alright, Marigoldflower. It's just... a minor problem, nothing serious." Realizing that it did sound like he didn't trust her, the tom paused for a moment and then glanced back at her as though he were considering whether to tell her something or not. "It's just a little bit personal. That's all. And I - I do trust you, but I think I just... need some time." The feline added, as though that were all she needed to know about his "personal" situation.

No one ever took the tabby that seriously. And, it seemed that their deputy was no different. Of course Hawkfeather was never offended by the way that others treated her, and the way Bubblestep spoke didn't bother her in the slightest. Although she was worried for the she cat's welfare. "Well, Snowstar obviously trusts you! Or you wouldn't be deputy! And, we all like you, Bubblestep. At least most of us do. Besides, the harder you try to keep winning approval the harder it's going to get! You can't keep it up forever." The feline mewed, and then thought for a moment. Starvation? Was it really that serious? Come to think of it, it had been a little while since the fresh-kill pile had grown much, and cats had looked pretty unhappy. But as usual, Hawkfeather lived in her own little world. This was why she was glad she wasn't deputy, she would never be able to deal with how stressful Bubblestep made it sound. "Oh, okay! I'll come with you, it'll be easier to hunt with two cats. Okay with you?" The tabby was partly following the other cat, waiting for a response before she decided to either go another way and try to hunt again, or keep on going with the deputy.

"Well," Bubblestep paused to think. It might be easier to track down something with help, then again, the sound of two cats could drive more away. "Alright. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have company."

A bright grin, like the sun coming out and pushing the clouds away, spread over her features. Now, Hawkfeather was generally smiling so this was nothing new, but she had stopped for a moment when she had realized how frustrated Bubblestep really was. Dealing with upset cats was not her strong point, she tended to always say or do the wrong things, especially because she was so used to having the optimistic view on life that she did. And, the cheerful, upbeat, quick-moving voice. "Great - where's the best place to go? Do you have special spots you like to hunt?" The feline asked, her eyes studying the deputy. Chances were that, if Bubblestep wasn't completely put out with Hawkfeather by the end of this hunt, they would end up as great friends. She had found that the less annoyed a cat seemed with her, the more they seemed to want to be friends by the end of things. Conversations, hunts, walks... even just listening to the she cat talk could wear you out.

Crowsong smiled at Stoneheart as her mate padded beside her, his fur brushing his. Crowsong made Stoneheart happy and vice versa. They could never let each other go. They were meant to be together. It's almost as if they share the same feelings, the same thoughts, the same minds, the same bodies. It was as if, Crowsong thought. we were one.

The gray she-cat perked her ears at Stoneheart's question. "Oh, um, let's go on a walk first. We can go back and hunt, later.", she replied. Crowsong, you should've put first things first and hunted for the clan.., a voice in her mind told her. But, I need to be with Stoneheart, first, even though we're still with each other when we go hunting.. But, I love him... I could never let him down... He probably prefers going on a walk with me rather than hunting.., she thought. The voice in her head didn't reply back. There was an eerie moment of silence. But, then, a rustling in the bushes next to them broke the silence.

"Crowsong?", she heard a voice calling from the bushes. A lithe black tom was padding towards her. Crowsong's fur bristled and she drew her lips back in a snarl. She grew calmer, her fur lying flat, as the tom got closer. "Father? I thought you were dead!", relief and hope flooded through the gray she-cat as she stared at her father. "Who's this handsome tom with you?", her father asked, looking at Stoneheart. "This is Stoneheart—my mate.", she replied.

"You're mate? Hm..", the black tom meowed, inspecting Stoneheart. "He seems like a perfect match for you, my daughter.", he said. "Obviously, Father..", Crowsong sighed. "Come on, Stoneheart, let's go on a walk. Wait, Father, what have you been doing all this time?", she asked. "I've been living as a loner...", he mewed. "You have?", she questioned.

"Yes, I have.. You two better get going, now. You don't want to be late for your trip hunting and then going back to camp without anything.", Crowsong's father chuckled, turning around, padding back into the bushes.

Stoneheart blinked. "What just happened?" He asked. As far as he knew, some tom came along, turns out he's Crowsong's father, says that he approves of him and Crowsong being mates and then walks away. He was completely baffled. I'm so lost right now. He though. But all that matters is that I'm with Crowsong, my one and only, my light on the darkest of days, my saviour. I promise to love her till the day I die, till the day my heart stops beating. And until then, my heart will never stop beating for her. The love struck tom turned back to Crowsong and smiled. Where ever she was is where he belonged.

"Crowsong, recently I've been thinking, I know this might be a bit of a shock to you, but I've been thinking about us having kits. Yeah, I know if you don't want to have kits it's totally fine, but I just wanted to let you know."
Stoneheart awkwardly pulled his ears back and avoided looking into his mate's beautiful green eyes.

She looked at Stoneheart as he said something. "Of course, Stoneheart! I would love to have kits with you.", she meowed.

Mintkit trotted along beside Marshpaw, sniffing at every leaf and bush and tree she passed. Her ears were pricked up with obvious curiosity. But she didnt stray from Marshpaw's side, walking beside him respectfully. Though he was a bit goofy, he was older, and she did respect him. And he was one of her friends now, after all; She liked the Tom. He was funny, and very kind. Mintkit knew alot of older apprentices wouldnt be caught dead with a kit, but Marshpaw didnt seem to mind her company. Actually, he seemed to enjoy it. Perhaps because Mintkit was a very mature kit for her age. She knew a lot of things she probably shouldnt know, due to eavesdropping on Honeyfur and Roarclaw. And, at times, her parents. For instance, she knew about the drama with WindClan. Something that should probably be over with by the time she was apprenticed. Mintkit wasnt too concerned about it, especially not at the moment.

The young she-kit flicked an ear as they entered the training cave. She'd heard apprentices talking about it before in the clearing, but Mintkit had never seen it, of course. It wasnt terribly interesting, but it was definitely something, and a nice change from the nursery and camp. Mintkit could only hope Honeyfur and her siblings hadnt noticed she was gone. Mintkit stuck to the shadows often, kept to herself. Which made it easy for her to be forgotten. And that had its perks, like now. Smirking to herself, Mintkit felt that familiar surge of pride as she turned to Marshpaw. "Thank you for bringing me here, Marshpaw." She mewed politely, her blue eyes gleaming. "So you train here?" Her gaze flickered around, tiny claws kneading the ground with curiosity and excitement.

Honestly, the tom hadn't been expecting a thanks - he hadn't really been thinking about it. He didn't need one, of course, the tom was glad to do it, and the words caught him off guard. "Oh, you're welcome!" The feline smiled. It kind of seemed like he was generally taken for granted. The occasional 'good job' was not overrated, although he got enough of those. But a thank you every once in a while was definitely appreciated, and while he hadn't been expecting it, he was very thankful for it. "Yep! It's awesome in here - we have parties all the time. Always a fun time in here," The tom grinned. He always had fun with training.

Everything was a game to him - much to his mentor's annoyance, but that was okay! Wasn't it part of apprenticehood to have some fun? He knew that his future apprentice was going to have the best time ever. He was going to have to be professional, though, try and get a little knowledge through to them... but that didn't mean tat he had to be serious about it. He didn't have to go on and on if the other cat grasped the concept, did he? Oh geez, how was he supposed to train? But that was all in the future.

For now, he was going to focus on the present... his own training. And teaching Mintkit some moves, but that wasn't going to be super difficult. "I've been working on my crouch, actually. It's harder then it looks - so maybe you could help me out some? Just tell me if it looks even, or at least close to, and then if you wanted I could teach you," He mewed with a smile. Yep, this was going to be a regular party. It didn't matter that she was serious! Pretty soon, Marshpaw would have her having a great time. It wasn't going to be hard at all. After all, didn't she already have an adventurous streak? Besides... it was hard to stay that serious around him, at least forever. He had that talent. The talent of turning cats' brains to mush, in a sense. Well, not exactly like that, but he seemed to zap their common sense for the time being.
