Sootkit barely stirred at the first rasping lick of a motherly tongue across the top of that tiny, narrow head, one ear folding in under the affection. Eyes remained squeezed tightly shut, what looked like a permanent smile still held on the whiskered face, muzzle tucked down in between both forepaws. The low murmur of her mother's voice, however, caused the tiny creature to stir. Forepaws slowly curled in on themselves, gripping around her own face as the expression somehow intensified, ears folding back.

But, while her own face was grabbed hold of and in the process of scrunching in, her back half did the opposite. Hind legs stiffily stuck out, stretching, toes spread, a tiny and half-broken high-pitched squeak audible somewhere within the cat's throat. Only then did a bright gleam of pale eyes start to appear, secondary lids peeling back to provide that clarity of color and presence, slowly becoming aware that her mother was attempting to wake her up. A friendly murr was then allowed out past the small maw, jaws just barely opening, sleepily reaching up to paw at Whisperingflower's chin were it still in reach.

Moonriselight felt her eyes close with sleep, but opened them up again. This was no time to sleep. The queen got into a comfortable position on her left side. She gave out a big push.

Spiritflight caught the kit, kicked it warm, and quickly set it beside Moonriselight. He purred with affection. "He's beautiful" He mewed softly. He turned back and said encouragingly " Only a couple more pushes. I promise! "

Spiritflight paused, looking intently at Moonriselight. " Nevermind... " He mewed. " He's the only one" He mewed softly, Glancing at his mate. He snuggled down beside her. "What are you going to call him?"

(After the kit RPers shared their status, Beetlekit was the only one avaliable. So he's an only kit!)

(After the kit RPers shared their status, Beetlekit was the only one avaliable. So he's an only kit!)

Moonriselight looked at the kitten with a smile. "I really like Beetlekit.", she meowed. The molly knew that she had always wanted a kit named Beetlekit and now it was actually happening.

"He's beautiful" He mewed, nuzzling Moonriselight's head. He smiled. He knew something then. He would protect Beetlekit with his life, if he had to. He reached down and nosed Beetlekit lightly, then gave a small chuckle of amusement. "He looks so much like you! We have a mini Moonriselight" He observed, smiling again.

Beetlekit let out a mew as he was trying to stand up , he heard his parents voices and gave a small smile before he fell on to his rump from the nudge his father gave him. He knew it wasn't meant to make him do that but he didn't have great balance , he shook his head as he rolled on to his right side only to look up at both of them while he opened his eyes, they were like his father's .they shined bright as he flicked his tiny ears "m....m-moon....m-moon....moonriselight!" it was a struggle at first ,the words felt odd on his tongue . But he got used to it. He however mistook his father for the
Name and went towards him "m-moonrise...light!" he meowed happily w as he raised a paw in the air to bat at his father with .

"Hello, little one!" He mewed. He gestured with his tail to Moonriselight. "That's Moonriselight, your mother. I'm Spiritflight, your father!" He smiled at the kit. " And you, little rascal, are Beetlekit! " He exclaimed. His eyes dashed around the nursery. I hope nothing happens to him. And if it does...I'll be there. He looked down at the kit, and smiled again.

His head tilted as he heard his father speak and once again he heard the strange names, wait.....was that what he was supposed to think? A clan born cat thinking that their way of naming.....is strange? He shoved those thoughts away though once he heard his name , his blue orbs sparkled "b-beetle.......beetlekit! I R-rascal Beetlekit !" he mewed as his tail swished .he looked back at the actual moonriselight and pounced on her right paw playfully and batted at it a bit "why are o-our names f-funny s-s-s-s-sounding ?" he asked genuinely curious as he looked up at his father.
(I have an idea ! Maybe Beetlekit can have trouble speaking at first and struggles to make full sentences half way through his apprentice years?)

his ears twitched as he sat down only to tuck his paws underneath him "......w-w-w.....w...W....Why?" he asked leaning forward his orbs wide with curiosity and slight confusion . He's only been in this world for just a few seconds and it already seemed odd...like...that this way of living wasn't meant to happen.And he barely started it. That troubled him "a-.....are we su-supposed....t-to....be l-like this?" he asked once more.

Moonriselight looked down at her son with a purr as he spoke. She felt odd talking about this, but knew that clan life was weird like that. "It's hard for me to explain, since I'm not a clan born cat.", she meowed. The queen didn't regret a thing of leaving her old life behind. Moonriselight mentally stayed out of the conversation after a while.
