Dustbreeze panted as she trotted into the training cave, turning to see if Leopardpaw was keeping up. They would need a moment to cat h their breath, but Dust was conditioned for this. It was goes to condition her apprentice as well. She took a few deep breaths before beginning her explanation of training.

"We're going to start with defense today. It's more important that offense in my opinion. If you can't defend yourself then there's no point in attacking, you'll only get hurt." Dustbreeze shook out her poly, trying to let some cool air in to refresh her. "Start with your battle stance, I hope you've been practicing in your spare time."

Foxbound hesitated as the young she-cat started to pad away into the snow, before finally sighing and pushing the prey back towards her. "You finish that up... and then I'll take you to camp to see our leader. He's pretty fond of young cats, so maybe he'll let you... Join the clan or something." She waited for the young cat to turn around and finish the prey, orange eyes shining brightly as she tried for a friendly smile. This was a young cat, and wouldn't do much harm to anyone. There was no reason for her to be rude.

As she heard what the she had said she pricked her ears, and glanced back. Her tail swayed as if she was deciding on what to do. She smiled as she was glancing back and spun around and leapt into a playful position. "Of course I'll join your family clan thingy! She galloped over to the half eaten mouse and finished it, then going up to the she. "I'm Fox by the way! What's your name?" The ecstatic cat looked up at the ginger cat expectantly.

Leopardpaw's chest heaved as she followed her mentor, her jaw parted. She flicked her tail and nodded along with Dustbreeze's words, catching her breath before dropping into a low crouch, remembering what the warrior had said last time they trained together. "I think I've gotten better," she mewed, glancing down at the position of her paws and shuffling them slightly before turning back to Dustbreeze, awaiting her next orders.

"Oh, excuse me, I really thought that the ice would hold for me." Cranerose bumped him back and thought about an accident she'd been in as an apprentice- falling through the ice into the water. Then, she quickly looked back to Sharpclaw. "Wait a minute! You were the one that saved me then, weren't you?" she rememered.

"yup, you looked like a flopping fish when i pulled you out but you where the most beautiful flopping fish i have ever saw" he remarked laughing at the memory

Cranerose laughed. Thinking back, the description of 'floppy fish' was pretty accurate.
"Well, I could've taken you for a squirrel with the determination you had to learn climbing trees, in the end I learnt too, just because-" As she shared her memories, she recalled more. "Oh god... I had a crush on you as an apprentice, too! I totally forgot that."

Gesturing to the nightly sky they were walking under, Cranerose smiled.
"I guess that's one thing that didn't change."

The tortie gave an encouraging nod to the young cat and circled around her, assessing.

"Looks great, keep it up. For defense, start with watching my body language. How I square my shoulders, store tension and where my eyes look are very important. All of this will help you predict moves to defend against." Dustbreeze squared off toward the apprentice, lowering a little as if she was preparing to leap forward and her eyes trained on Leopardpaw's shoulder. "Where am I going to attack?" She asked, freezing in position.
