Foxwhisperer silently watched as Magpie sharpened his claws against the tree. Satisfied after a few more heartbeats the tom cleared his voice to draw the apprentice's attention to him. "Since we want to work on getting you buffed up let's go over how to climb trees because it uses all of the muscles in the body." Getting up from sitting down the dark ginger warrior padded to the tree next to his apprentice.
Digging his long, hooked claws into the tree Foxwhisperer quickly looked at the younger tom to make sure he was paying attention. "First muscle that is used is your upper body. You have to have strength in your forelimbs in order to pull yourself up." Massive muscles bulged under his coat as the tom heaved himself up only using his upper body. "Secondly, the lower half has the important task to help support your weight." Bunching his hindlegs and digging his claws into the soft bark the warrior looked over to Magpiepaw. "Come on." Jerking his head to join him in climbing. He better not be a baby about this.

"I did not say anything about your family, Eaglepaw. I said you were raised with your false beliefs, because that is what ShadowClan as a whole has been pushing since Icestar became leader.

"You would do well to use your ears more than your She-catly Emotions. It does little to add validity to your comments when you are prone to emotional reaction." Falcondive would not allow her to see she had gotten under his pelt a little with her comment on StarClan not telling him their Wisdom personally.. that was something to ponder later, not now!

Turning to her, he used his large frame to block Eaglepaw's path. "Listen to me, little she-cat. If you walk with your ears closed you will never learn your calling and your mind will remain narrow. Icestar is a murderer and a traitor to StarClan. She is a kit killer and a Fiend to our Code and she lives only to cause the suffering of others."

The thought alone made his hackles raise. Of Hailstorm. Of how she had struck him physically, spent his apprenticeship demeaning him and speaking down to him. Falcondive knew her favor toward him was an act centered around manipulation and he was not a fan of it.

"Leader or not, she lacks the honor of respect. I will speak about her as I want."

Magpiepaw watched his mentor intently, before following suit. He pulled himself up the tree, claws sinking into the bark. Upper body was easy. His fore paws were strong, and able. The could were strong enough to cut across a face; but gentle enough to play with even the smallest of kits. Once he was hanging securely, rump swinging beneath him, Magpie turned to focus on his hind legs. One scrabbled at the bark, trying to get a hold, while the other hung limply. So... how was he supposed to do this? Launch himself up, maybe? But what if he fell? No, now was the time for risks. That's what being Shadowclan meant, right? Pulling forward with his front paws, he gripped the bark with his back ones. Three..... two... one... leap. He was in the air.. and the toppled onto the branch, his belly painfully thumping across it. "oof.... how was that?"

Eaglepaw looked down at her paws when her mentor told her to use her ears more. Her tail started to droop a little and she walked a little slower. No one liked to be scorned by their mentor. She looked up as the tom blocked her path. She thought for a moment then nodded as he talked about Icestar. "Does she know that you talk about her like this?" she asked the big tom. She swished her tail. "I think not." She then lifted her head and walked around her mentor, continuing to walk in the forest.

Whitepaw slipped into the forest, taking a look around from the hole he had just gone through. He would worry about his scratches later, he could do that deeper in the territory, without his campmates peering out of camp at him. He stretched, lifting his tail high in the air. He then started speeding through the forest, a smile on his face as wind flew through his fur. This was what he wanted, exploring! Soon, he found a weird bush and skidded to a stop and sniffed it. He found that it had some small berries on it, appearing a red. He shrugged and plucked a small branch of it off. Maybe the medicine cat knew what this was? All he knew is he was extremely curious about the rest of the forest and what he would find. He held the branch between his teeth as he started sniffing around more, examining the cool plants he had never payed attention to before.

[BEAR.]

"Oh, she knows perfectly well."

Falcondive merely stepped again to intercept her, not impressed by her behavior. "We have never been on good terms and never will be."

Using his paw, he abruptly moved to sweep Eaglepaw's legs out from beneath her. "I told you to use your ears, Eaglepaw. Your training will go better if you actually listened and processed what I am telling you."

Spiritpaw padded into the territory, taking deep breaths of the pine-scented air.

Another day, another bout of training.

The tom thought, stifling a yawn.

And so early, too.

Whatever. The faster they got this over with, the better.

That is, if they could even start in the first place.

"Any day now, Sparrowsnap!", he called over his shoulder.

Really, that she-cat was getting annoying.

Why bring him out if they weren't going to train?

Still, he sat down beneath the leaves of Shadowclan trees, and waited.

And waited.

And thought of the sleep he was missing out on.

Sparrowslug!

Though the thought was rather ironic, coming from Spiritpaw.

Especially as it got harder and harder to keep his eyelids from drifting shut.

Sparrowsnap trotted hurriedly toward her apprentice, nose wrinkling at the defiant tone that lurked in his voice. She skidded to a halt once in-front of the tortoiseshell tom, yellow eyes narrowing.

"First off, mouse-brain," she hissed, "do NOT speak to me like that, understand? And second, I'm giving you a privilege by letting you go out hunting on your decision." She leaned in toward the spprentice and peeled back her muzzle to let her breath drift down into his face. "Do I make myself clear?" Sparrowsnap growled lowly.

Eaglepaw was surprised when she heard Falcondive's response. She knows?
Why doesn't she do anything about it? Make him do an apprentice job or something like that...

She stopped again as her mentor intercepted her. She tilted her head as he spoke to her her. Why are they in bad terms...Well, probably because he talks bad about her behind her back and to her face! She gave her short creamy brown pelt a quick shake, she fell to the ground in surprise as Falcondive swept her paws out from under her.

Her pelt prickled a little as he scorned her again. She looked up at him, thinking for a moment before replying, "Well, I know that you aren't going to teach me to fight...But am I going to learn to hunt?" She got up slowly, shaking the dirt and pine needles from her pelt. Her dark green eyes fixed onto his face, determined not to let him push her around. Even if he was bigger and stronger than her.

"th-thank yo-ou" Nightpaw smiled at Frostpaw's returned compliment. She was defenitely happy with her catch, and wondered if her mother and mentor would think She had done well too. She hoped they would.
The white apprentice lightly did her usual tilt of the head with a lowered gaze as she thought about what they could do. Maybe it was just her, but it seemed like the other apprentice was letting her choose what they were doing quite a bit; which she didn't mind, but was sometimes left in what would for her be a difficult spot as it may happen that she gets a little indecisive- mainly because she worries to much about possibly choosing something the other wouldn't want to do and yeah... After a little bit of thinking however, Nightpaw got a small idea "m-maybe we-e coul-could s-slo-slowly st-art lo-looking f-or Fal-fallenh-eart and ca-catch s-someth-ing i-if we co-come acro-ss some p-prey?" the young molly finally finished, glancing back up towards Frostpaw. Her suggestion was likely leaning towards something like a walk. Maybe it could be nice to just walk a little bit, and the other was right about having to start looking for Fallenheart. And if they were to come across some prey again she wouldn't want to miss a chance at trying to catch something again.. It had been quite fun the first time. Though it was only a suggestion, so she wouldn't mind at all if Frostpaw had something else in mind.
