Oh, that was it. That did him in. He was being handed the chance of a lifetime. Paige was actually... she was actually interested in him. He felt a little sick to his stomach; he was so excited.

He cleared his throat. "Sure. I'm down with that. Just give me the directions, and we're there."

"Really? She looked at me kind of sweet." Chris said. He sorta liked the waitress, she seemed quite nice.

Pavel growled, and heard most of what Paige said. He stood up, and walked over to them. "Where's this place you're talking about?"

Skye looked at Chris with a shocked, almost hurt expression. Surely he didn't mean--? No, he couldn't! He said he loved her-- Skye. She kept her cool for now, but she was preparing to fully interrogate him later.

Paige huffed at the greasy-haired 'commander'. "None of your business, Pavel. What are you even doing here?" If she was honest, she rather liked Beck's company.

It was either that, or just her immeasurable loathing of Pavel making her realize just how much she cared for the mechanic.

Beck felt awkward being in the middle of the soldiers' conversation, and decided not to say anything just yet. He didn't want to risk it.

Beck stood next to Paige, glaring at Pavel. He knew standing up-- well, not literally, as he was doing now-- to a soldier was a bad idea, so he didn't try to appear threatening-- only protective. He softly began to speak to the commander next to him. "Paige, how about we just take off?"

Oh, so now Pavel was bringing the whole occupation with him? Beck's sense of "this is possibly the greatest cycle of my life" vanished at the sight of General Tesler's massive form lurking behind Pavel. Beck had gone up against him before, and barely survived. The last thing he wanted was to get tossed into the Coliseum for associating with one of the commanders.
