Zed held Mara back, trying to get her to be quiet so Vernal could speak. "Go ahead. We're listening." The blue-haired program struggled, but relented, as she trusted Zed's judgement.

She started from where got lost to bumping into the commander . Who then helped her with their medical knowledge, they chatted and Vernal added in the part that she was scared. But when Paige talked about disrespect and throwing all of them into the games would have been a miracle to other programs , She explained that it was horrible. Which lead to her wanting to help them. The now Firewall even put in the fact her explanations of why if didn't seem so bad and that she already had been chewed out by Zed. Then she talked about the repurposing process, and that she only had half a cycle left before she had to return . " and if you hate me still just be glad it's only half a cycle. Besides its a good thing! You have a friend that's a firewall rookie. I can protect you guys " she added . This wasn't a bad thing . That was what she trying to get Mara and maybe Zed to understand .

"No!" Skye-Bit hollered, as loud as a Bit could, of course. She didn't want to reveal herself to Amber, but this was getting ridiculous!

"Skye?" Chris woke up and yawned. He saw that Skye-Bit was gone, and saw her yelling. "Amber! Can I have my Bit back?" He asked.

"But I want to keep it!

"It's mine. Please give it back."

"Fine." Amber let the Bit go, and stormed off to her bedroom.

Mara opened her mouth to speak, but Zed dismissed whatever she was going to say with a wave of his hand. "See? I know you think firewalls are out to get us and everything, but now we've got someone on our side." Mara looked at Zed with a bewildered expression.

"Since when did you go back to your whole 'the Occupation is great' thing? I thought you snapped out of that when Bartik and Hopper wanted to recruit you!"

"Mara, it was different then! Come on, give her a chance."

Mara heaved a sigh. "I need a minute to think." She spun on her heel and briskly walked away from the two of them, headed toward her quarters.

Zed watched her leave, then turned back to Vernal. "Did it hurt?"

"No. No. No. No. No." Skye-Bit rammed her small, lavender dodecahedron of a body into Chris' chest, several times, with as much anger as a Bit could convey. Which wasn't much, due to the fact she was simply adorable.

Her stomach tightened with anticipation as she watched the two . please believe me.. then she looked back at Zed only to inhale sharply at the memory " for Flynn's sake yes! I don't know what they coded that thing with but yes! " Vernal answered only to look at her new light lines "but it was worth it, I got new skills now! And...thanks zed..." she said with a warm smile.

Why did they view her as a scary program? Then it clicked most likely the same reason why I was.... And I got to admit these light lines are pretty intimidating..
" she seemed nice, why she didn't rip me apart I don't know.. But I think it was because of the crash- and besides I wasn't doing anything wrong . " She said with a shrug. Why would she be punished if she didn't break any laws? That just made no sense to her. "And its alright , if its what I got to go through ill do it ....think Mara will be ok?" she asked.
