Her head rested on small white paws, Ashkit sighed. She was exhausted. The nursery was so familiar, and she was glad to be home. But she missed her family. Not Fireleg, but her brothers and Sparkfire. Sparkfire especially. She barely remembered Bearkit and Sleetkit, other than a few games of play and one specific time that included her thinking Sleetkit was a fox. She wished it was still that easy.

Curltuft came in with Sablepaw, taking her over to an empty nest and putting her down. She looked down at the apprentice, flicking an ear. "I'd tell you to go to the medicine cat, but..." She looked out the den entrance, staring at the darkening sky.

”but what?” she hissed, wincing at the new flash of pain that came from being set down in her nest. ‘’I need to go to the medicine den’’ she stated. by now her bleeding had stopped but her wounds may get infected if untreated.

The she-cat didn't answer, instead walking towards the den entrance and slipping out. "I'll go find some cobwebs." Before she left, she looked back at Sablepaw one more time. "Stay there and stay still." She said, an odd look in her eyes. She pushed her way out of the den, off to go find something to cover the wounds.

after her mentor left she shivered and let out a small choked breath of relief. she could be at ease for just a moment while Curltuft was gone. The days events had exhausted her though and she was unable to stop herself from letting her eyes fall shut.

She came back a while later with some cobwebs in her mouth, walking over to Sablepaw and sitting down next to her.
"This is all I could find." She mumbled, carefully taking some of the cobwebs and putting them over the wound on the apprentice's face. She was no medicine cat, but putting cobwebs on scratches was easy enough.
