Re: Cattail Pond
Amberflight
[ @mareenakit ]
She glanced at the molly for a moment, brow raised as she imagined what that would be like. "Surely you would, but everyone learns to adapt," she replied, tapping the pond once again to create the ripple effect, "Just like these fish, they've grown used to Riverclan coming to hunt here and others coming simply to hang and adapted to learn what they're dealing with." Just as she was saying, a few of the few swam off in fear, but eventually came right back, resuming their normal fish activities. "The forest changes to teach us how to grow, otherwise we'd never evolve to what we are today. Everything has a purpose, just not every intention is as positive as we wish they'd be."

{@ Shadeleaf-Sorry for putting this up late. ^^;}
---------------------------- It was high noon and a certain mottled tom was spending some time relaxing by Cattail Pond. As he laid right at the edge, almost all his paws tucked neatly under him, the young warrior would occasionally dip the one free paw and splash the water when a fish swam close enough. He enjoyed observing the scaly prey scatter and dart around in the calm water whenever he wasn't trying to catch some. it was kind of mesmerizing. Almost enough to make him drowsy. Emphasis on almost. Not quite though. He was feeling quite content. Despite that, he was yearning for a bit of a chat but he could probably find someone to fulfil that need later. For now, he'll stay here until he grows a bit tired of the scenery.

Re: Cattail Pond
@ Pepperkins
Silverpool imagined Amberflight mentoring her. Silverpool would ask a bunch of questions, then Amberflight would answer them all, but Silverpool wouldn't hear any because she would be too busy watching a fish. She chuckled and listened to the older she-cat. How did she get so wise? She'd never have thought of the forest like that, but it was true. She looked at the fish Amberflight had scared away. "Those fish are too small for us to eat. Do you think they know that, and that's why they aren't scared?" She watched the minnows dart around, chasing each other.

Re: Cattail Pond

Okay. Mr.Crazy was going to teach them stuff and Eelpaw wasn't entirely sure on how it would go but... they would roll with it. Or try to roll with it. Do their best at least. And so. The hunting crouch? Hunter's crouch? They weren't entirely sure on which Mr.Crazy meant, considering the one would be used for hunting whereas the other was by used the hunter. Was there even a difference or where they just overthinking everything? Probably both. But instead of like actually voicing out their confusion they just tried or did their best to do what Mr. Crazy had said, drop to the ground. Eelpaw flopped to the ground. And then they bent their legs and lifted themselves up properly, managing a semi-good version of the crouch - outside of the flopping of course - and wave their black and grey tail in excitement. They were not doing too poorly and was actually doing quite well! And Eelpaw was excited about that. So... they would have to jump. Eying the pond that was close to them, the apprentice judged the distance and... LEAPED. Landing steadily on the ground and then proceeding to flop so their face was directly into the pond. and then... they begun blowing bubbles. That was to some extent more fun than learning. Had blowing bubbles been part of the lesson? Eelpaw wished it was.

Re: Cattail Pond
// @Elementals
Beanpaw
________
The wind stirred the gentle water of the cattail pond, sending soft waves splishing on Beanpaw’s toes. He relished the feeling of the cool water on his paws, and couldn’t help but sigh contentedly. It was a nice day, and he was by himself. Granted, he felt kind of lonely, but that was okay. If someone came along, he could talk to them! And maybe take a swim with them in the pose, even though the water was kind of cold. But that was okay.
For now, the apprentice sat beside the water, eyes closed, enjoying the fresh air. And hoping secretly for company. Maybe.

Re: Cattail Pond
// @implimm - not all so dreamy and idiotic HUH
Springcry flicked his tail, letting the blows slide off his back. Honestly, she wasn't much of a bother...more like an annoying little sister. Annoying. But still...He nudged her with a friendly expression as she scowled at him. Jeez, who put a thorn in her nest? Darn, here come the teeth... "Yeah, I know, just cause we have such a special relationship, I thought-fine. Whatever." Throwing a signature Spring Wink™, he jauntily began walking to Cattail Pond. Just because she was a little sour didn't mean she'd ruin their whole outing...in fact, it would be fun! Even though he'd just met her, he adored Plume-Spring time!
"Ah, Gentlethunder...quite an interesting cat. He's a good warrior, and basically Lionstar's adviser. You understand, Plume, we're the humble, poor peasants. Lionstar's "Camp Guards"-" Here, he put in a sneer. It was obvious Springcry wasn't a fan of Lionstar's hierarchy. "-Now, they're his nobles. The twisted little Lionheart, is his brute, his thug. They carry out the dirty work. And finally, that's where Gentlethunder comes in. He advises Lionstar, keeps him from sticking his ass where it doesn't belong-and controlling himself. See Plumeflame? Gentlethunder is a good guy, but he's been sucked into Lionstork's stupid vortex. I wouldn't trust the Camp Guards or Lionhearts-and stars forbid that Fawnsqueak." Just like a older brother, his next words touched the heart. "Don't worry, I'll take care of you."
he brushed past her, obviously angry. Honestly, I would've been happy with Eagleflight, Dirtfur, or Frostfall became leader instead of Lionstork. Stupid. Damn. Leader. "Of course you can't, sorry. Don't worry...haha. Plumeflame, we'll have so much fun!"

Re: Cattail Pond
Plumpaw had followed the warrior out, feeling rather dejected after her initial arrogant act at camp. Had Sootflare spotted them talking throughout the Gathering and thought they would work well together or something? She wished that she'd said something his way before leaving, but the guy seemed too busy to have some newly RiverClannised apprentice making comments at him.
She would tough out the patrol and get home and have a nap. All she needed to do was hunt some fish successfully and she was home free. With any luck, and StarClan's blessing, Springcry wouldn't notice her dismal fishing skills ( read as: lack of fishing skills.).
But her pelt still itched from him talking about a special relationship with her on their way out of the clearing, and now he'd begun to talk again. This time, about Gentlethunder. At first, Plumpaw feels drawn to the idea of tuning the warrior out and getting some peace and quiet in her mind. But then, he uses that name again for her and her charcoal ear flicks towards him while she gazes at the grass.
Plumpaw listens silently to Springcry's tirade, his monologue on RiverClan and its ranks and members. And although she didn't speak up while he was going on, a deep red ember which had been sitting at the bottom of her chest for a long, long time had begun to simmer brighter and brighter. Still though, the silver molly only listens, and only grows angrier, until his final statement. "Don't worry, I'll take care of you." Immediately, the apprentice digs her claws into the soil to stop herself from walking any further as the fur along her spine and tail begins to rise. Finally raking her cerulean eyes onto Springcry, the feline lets out a low growl.
"StarClan damn you, if there were a way to pull words back onto your tongue and down your throat after speaking them." Stone cold malice had surfaced out of nowhere in the she-cat's words and stance towards him.
"You meet me a few days ago and think you can talk like this to me- You're disgusting with that creepy dung. You don't know Gentlethunder, you don't know who guards your home, your shelter! You can't even claim to know Lionstar one bit it seems, and you sure. As. Hell. Don't know a damn thing about me, Springcry."
She had begun to arch her back and allow her emotions to grip her tightly- She wished so badly to rake her claws over his smug, nasty face. But she needed RiverClan, and she needed to at least try. But this patrol wasn't going to last. She didn't feel good here, Springcry didn't give her a good feeling at all. If anything... The poor apprentice felt repulsed. It wasn't even as if she were a youth anymore, or taken, or not into toms- None of that mattered when something just didn't sit right suddenly. And for him to spill all of these thoughts towards his own Clanmates and leader onto her!
Plumpaw narrows her eyes to mere slits as a shockingly cruel smile blossoms over her maw. "We will have fun, Springcry. We will." And, with that, she turns on her heels to return to camp in a hurry. In her haste back, the silver molly manages to trip on something mushy. She didn't know the terrain over here much yet, and it hurt. But she needed to get to her new leader about this. Her first patrol was ruined, but she had accepted that.

Re: Cattail Pond
// @implimm - guess she did..."snap"
Springcry stared at the pond, took in the cattails. Sometimes...sometime something was so beautiful that you couldn't appreciate it. Like that first night he'd met Plume. The water was gorgeous, the moon was silver and full, and the stars were shining ever-so brightly. He adored pretty nature scenes, one that fit in with everything around him and what was happening. Then again, there was always something to disturb it, something to ruin the balance. Such as an angry leader(hint hint), or a storm. Or perhaps an invading Clan...life was never perfect.
He sat near the water, quietly searching for fish. The tom had a feeling he'd upset her...but he honestly didn't know why. He'd just...ugh. Did she know how to hunt? Ooh...maybe he could help her? Nah, she was Plumeflame. She wouldn't let any cat teach her.
Springcry finally, finally saw a small silver fish darting along the reeds and grass. He flexed his claws, unsheathing them, ready. He let his tail snake over towards Plume, all the while focused and silent and ready to catch the fish. And-oh! There came a whole school of them! Springcry stood up eagerly, but then saw Plumeflame's disapproving gaze. He felt like a little kid, despite the last words he said-'I'll protect you.' Damn, why had he said it? He regretted it...so much.
He lowered his gaze, looking at the ground. Springcry could tell she was getting mad, getting ready to explode with anger. He remembered that sweet, shy silver she-cat who'd been scared of the water at the Gathering, who could deal with ThunderClan and had to come to their Clan because even though she didn't fit in(he'd made that up). He'd thought she was so brave, so courageous, so passionate, so gentle. To be honest, she was the first three...though not the last one. Kind of one of those pretty she-cats who sucks you in and spits you out...kinda. Springcry gave her a sheepish smile, trying to make up for it or something.
"What?!" he rumbled. "I-I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Plumpaw. I just-I thought that you would-understand or something. I guess not? Did I go too far? It happens, you know! Even though you're perfect and indestructible, the rest of us aren't! So have a heart, okay?!" Her tone was harsh and rude, and cold...he could play along.
"Fine, maybe I did! Well, you're hardly a RiverClan cat! You just joined! You think you can just push everyone around, rule from your throne high in the treetops!" Springcry thought he was extremely clever with the throne in the treetops-ThunderClan cats loved climbing. Heh. "And how am I creepy?!" he shouted. "I try to be nice!"
Springcry glared angrily at her. Siblings fight, right? Why was he still thinking that they were like siblings? She obviously didn't think that way-so why should he? Because he liked her? He did, but as a friend-a really good one. Like a littermate(he'd said that before). He flicked his tail, then stomped over to the pond. "Yeah. Hunt. Now." Springcry's tone was flat, his joy was gone. Tears stung at the corner of his eyes, bright, painful sharp tears. He'd cared for her. Even though they'd just met he...felt like they would have a special bond. Be close. Why couldn't it be like that? No, no, no. Springcry had just met her-he didn't get that. He didn't get to be loved...have a good bond. He'd lost everything, thought he was gaining it, but now he didn't have anything. He'd thought he was gaining something with her, a good friend-a best friend, even. Springcry's tears fell onto the pond, and his paw lashed out-catching a fish.
"That's how you do it. Plume."

The massive she-cat walked slowly, her huge paws sinking into the moist soil. As she approached the pond she spotted a tom sitting by it. She had expected to have a solitary fishing trip but it seemed like that wasn't going to happen. She enjoyed making new friends but she didn't know if thus cat felt the same.
"Uh.. Hi? Am I d-disturbing you?" she asked awkwardly.
