He watched her face anxiously, taking in every change it went through before he released a silent breath of relief. Not being mad was... well, it was at least a start. He'd screwed up pretty bad, but at least his mistake hadn't ended in her being angry at him for the rest of time. That would have been the worst possible outcome.
"No!" he blurted, louder than he had intended, then swiftly corrected himself by continuing with, "I-I mean, it's fine, really. It isn't your fault, I was the one acting like a brain-dead pigeon. You've really, really helped me, you know that? If it weren't for you, I'd be waking up every morning too scared to leave camp." His voice was sincere as he spoke. "Seriously, you've done a lot for me, so... thank you, I guess."

Rainydawn was all set to walk away and leave it at that when Goosefury startled her with his sudden exclamation. Her ears flicked backward and she looked nervously from side to side before meeting his eye but she relaxed when he continued. Talking about his fear softened her- she couldn’t be harsh when she thought of what he was struggling through- and she offered a rueful smile, brushing off his thanks with a gentle wave of her paw. Her paw softly brushed his shoulder and she looked down at it like it wasn’t her own before quickly pulling it back and blushing.

“You don’t have to think me,” she said softly, “I could never leave you to suffer alone. I couldn’t leave any cat to suffer.”

Hot blood flooded his cheeks when her paw brushed his shoulder, and the crooked grin from last night returned. "I mean, yeah, I do have to thank you," he told her. "It isn't like Lionstar was the one to help me out. You were the one who did." He playfully prodded her in the shoulder with his own paw. "And you know what? That's one of the things I like about you. You care about others; not many cats do."

Rainydawn was sure her flush was visible through her fur. She wasn’t used to being complimented and she couldn’t help lingering on the fact that he’d said ‘one of the things.’ That meant that there were more, right? And the way he poked her! That was something that friends did and that cats did to flirt. It felt so strangely intimate to the cat who had closed herself off from everything. She smiled and met his eye bashfully.

“Oh, well, I don’t know... I just know what it feels like I guess. Wouldn’t want anyone to go through that alone- it’s terrible...”

The conversation topic seemed to be getting a bit dark with that revelation and she really didn’t want to explain- she didn’t even know why she’s said that in the first place- so Rainydawn tried her paw at teasing him back. She nudged him back softly and teased with a light tone,

“One of the things, huh?”

Mistleap saw Berrypaw and Shimmeringpool appear. "Oh--uh, hey! Are we ready to go?" She meowed, a bit nervously. She slid towards the camp exit/entrance, waiting.

He leaned forward to nudge her again and tell her that whatever she had gone through was over now, so it would be fine - but when she met his gaze he stopped, ears swiveling back and forth anxiously.
He let out a small laugh. "Yeah. One of the things. You're pretty awesome." He glanced toward the camp's exit, then nodded at it. "Want me to go get you something? Everything on the prey pile is probably old."

Rainydawn laughed softly and nudged his shoulder, eyes glowing warmly.

“You’re pretty alright too, Goosefury.”

His offer to hunt for her made her glance toward the entrance too. It was sweet of him, but she was perfectly capable of catching her own prey. She didn’t want to stop talking to him, though- which set off alarm bells in her mind that she studiously ignored- so she didn’t decline his offer. Instead, she flicked an ear thoughtfully and replied,

“We could both go... if you wanted.”

Almondbush looked at her with his almost blind eyes. "Once she gets the hang of her eyesight she should be good to go and just make sure she won't go out on her own.", he meowed.

Salmonsong nodded,” Alright. That’s good to know...speaking of you....how are you doing?” she asked after she got the concerns of her kit over, she had time to do a little subtle flirting.

Berrypaw was relatively keen on getting going, so when Shimmeringpool arrived, and Mistleap questioned whether they were ready to go, she eagerly piped up. "Of course! Let's get going right away." Tail lashing with the motivation of elation, the molly quickly got to her paws and began slowly making a few steps towards the camp entrance. She could practically feel her warrior ceremony getting closer with each step she took, and it didn't take long before her pace was nearly a run. This patrol and an assessment was all that stood between her and her warrior name, and frankly, she couldn't have been more excited to get it all done.

Mistleap padded out of the warriors den, trying to hide in her own fur. "Don't look at me." She thought, and scrambled over to a corner in the camp. "Maybe...Creampelt's here?"

Creampelt spotted Mistleap...hiding? He knew she was a bit shy, but he didn't expect her to try to hide her own fur. Or maybe it wasn't Mistleap, and Creampelt was just seeing things. "Mistleap?"
